In the end, seven bosses were killed instantly, and the other three were more than a little bit hurt. As for the ordinary crystal wolves, hundreds of them turned to ashes. The combination had been a success, perhaps a lot more than that since no one knew that such a thing could be done and had so much potential.
"It seems things went well…" Louise said while her eyes were spinning.
Jake wasn't as bad as her, but he felt like it would be an excellent time to take a nap and recharge his brain. However, he drew his sword because the mission wasn't over yet.
"Come on, kiddos," Jake said. "We have to finish things here, and Lana should stay behind and watch Louise over."
"What did you say about not deciding things at this party?" Lana asked.
"I would have stayed quiet if you guys had recovered from the surprise a bit faster," Jake said.
Jake moved his sword around and confirmed that the pain and tiredness could be handled. Karina and Lucian followed him without any hesitation since they hadn't helped on the first strike. Still, they soon split to take care of the surviving monsters that were trying to surround them. In the meantime, Jake decided to target the wounded wolves and finish them. It seemed that they weren't healing as expected, thanks to the flames, but Jake didn't drop his guard.
When he got close enough, the monsters tried to bombard him with ice arrows, and while Jake was running to the side, they hit the ground, causing enough noise like cannonballs. All of a sudden, Jake felt his body getting lighter and his power increasing… Lana had buffed him, but that had been unnecessary since Jake couldn't imagine himself losing against monsters that couldn't even move.
When he got a good angle, Jake changed his stance and then used Flash toward the nearest wolf. The creature opened its mouth once it noticed his approach and then used Cold Immunity. Jake felt his body getting colder and slower. Even though he had some time to level up his Cold Immunity, he still suffered enough damage to turn his skin almost blue in just one second under that attack. Still, Jake didn't stop and eventually pierced the interior of the monster's mouth with his sword. The attack stopped, but the beast tried to resist, but it didn't resist for long. Those monsters weren't exactly tanky, after all…

The other two monsters also used Ice Breath, but Jake used Flash to the side to escape them. That was the only thing he could do since the cold almost turned his legs into blocks of ice. Jake equipped his shield and then used Boomerang Shield. The item flew in a wide arc and eventually approached both enemies from the sides. They used their Ice Breath to stop the item, but that made them look away from Jake… a terrible mistake.
They froze the shield, but then when they turned to face Jake, he was already above one of them with his sword moving downward. The weapon hit the skull of the second wolve and split a good part of the monster's brain.

Jake felt some of his health recovering, but then several ice spears appeared in front of him and then flew toward his head. He raised the Orc Hero's Sword and blocked the strikes, but each one of those pushed him backward. It was no surprise considering the magic power that the bosses had… Still, Jake endured that until he recovered his shield, and then he used Boomerang Shield again.
The monster ignored the shield flying in an even wider range. Only when it close and almost hits its back does the creature use Ice Wall. That was a bit annoying, but at least the barrage of attacks ended. Jake suddenly stopped moving and then activated Concentrated Strike. When the monster began to attack again, he used Throw, making his sword fly toward the enemy's supersonic speeds. The beast used ice spears to slow down the weapon until it almost stopped when it was only five meters away from its head. Still, then Jake suddenly appeared and kicked the back of his sword, making it fly toward the forehead of the monster.
The weapon pierced the skull of the enemy, but just a bit. Still, it was enough to knock down the monster… Jake recovered his sword and then finished things with a massive swing-down strike.

Jake sighed… he wasn't expecting much of a fight considering that the enemies had lost more than ninety percent of their health and they were long-ranged fighters, but that sure ended even faster than expected. He checked things with the others, and he noticed that they were fine. Even if they couldn't access that mission by themselves, they could face the crystal wolves while soloing.
Louise already recovered from the mana exhaustion or whatever the hell that was called and then approached with Lana to deal with the remaining monsters. Still, the other parties were doing a good job keeping those guys contained.
"Perhaps we should stop here and wait for the others to deal with the ordinary monsters…" Jake said while looking around for loot and only finding magic items that wouldn't help him in any way. "They will be annoyed if they think that we did all the job and got all the rewards… this is trash for me, but you can keep it."
"When did you become so considerate?" Lana asked. "Anyway… this mission was a bit different than the usual, but it was pretty fun. We should do this again."
"Do what again? Carry you on your backs?" Jake asked. "You did almost nothing."
"... You don't lose a chance to get on my nerves," Lana said and then pointed his hands toward Jake, and then the ice covering his body and armor disappeared.
