In the blink of an eye, Jake lost half of his health and felt like his entire body was being fried… Despite that situation, he managed to use his dark flames and create a wall that protected him. The thunder spears kept attacking, but those eventually ran out of gas before they disappeared. Dozens of them lost their energy, but hundreds of them were still around, waiting for Jake to move. The enemy knew how to use its abilities really well...
"Give me a break…" Jason thought while showing an annoyed expression.
It was hard to imagine that Jake would be able to keep summoning dark flames to stop all of them. Moreover, the boss fired other Thunder spears to take the place and increase the overall number of those little traps… The creature used almost twenty thousand mana potions, but it was a perfect trap that would work on flying and enemies that couldn't fly.
Jake decided to check how the Thunder spears could react to him and frowned when he realized that he couldn't move for more than a few centimeters. Jake summoned his old shield and then threw it in the distance, only to see the item stopping in the air after a while and then slowly melting. It seemed like a waste, but it couldn't be helped. Moreover, ten thunder spears disappeared to achieve that… Then that the boss quickly summoned again.
"That thing wants to keep me locked here…" Jake thought.
That wasn't good. The monster could recover enough mana to summon a new Thunder spear after just three seconds. While the beast couldn't recover its health completely due to the damage caused by the dark flames, it was clear who would have the upper hand in the next few minutes. Since Jake couldn't move, his options were close to none. If he tries to approach, the enemy will attack him with Thunder Beam, and the Thunder Blades will kill him in a matter of seconds.
"Shit… There is no other option?" Jake thought.
Using Mana Blades, Jake attacked the Thunder Spears, but the swing of his sword alerted them and made his dark flames decrease in power and size. He could decrease the Thunder Spears, but it would take too long, and his mind will be exhausted by then. There was still one option.. Jake truly hated that because he wouldn't be able to rely on his sword skills to solve the problem.
"... it is fine, I will kill that bastard with my sword, but to solve this problem, I will need something else," Jake said after a long sigh.
Jake got the pestilence crossbow from one of his magic boxes, and then he began to fire. The bolts only took a small amount of flames from the walls before they flew toward the part where the Thunder Spears touched the ground, and upon impact, they made them disappear. Since Jake was only pulling the trigger, the thunder spears didn't react. Only when he changed the direction of his Aim did they attack him, but only for a short while. Jake soon destroyed them.
The boss didn't like that, so it used Thunder Beam on him, but the dark walls stopped the attack. Still, that wouldn't work forever. When Jake's mind began to get tired, he finished getting rid of all the Thunder Spears in his path. He fired some bolts with the dark flames toward the boss, and then the creature panicked and used more Thunder Spears. Jake used that chance to approach instantly.
In the end, the beast could only try to fly upward since the thunder spears could also attack the boss… Jake smirked since he assumed as much. Without any other choice, the beast used Thunder Beam and summoned dozens of Thunder Arrows to attack him.
Jake blocked the Thunder Beam with his sword, and thanks to its nature, he managed to avoid being shocked like before. Still, the contact of the spell and the weapon pushed him backward, and then the Thunder Spears came…
While clenching his teeth, Jake blocked some with his shield, but he felt the paralyzing effects again… They were starting to stack, and that wasn't good. Jake needed a new plan… But it was difficult to come up with one in that kind of situation.
Jake felt that he had used everything at his disposal, so he wondered if he would finally lose a battle for the first time. In the end, Jake decided to go all out and win, even if he had to die to achieve that. Jake used Concentrated Strike and Explosive Touch on his feet, and then he charged forward. He kept doing that until some Thunder Spears began to miss him… He got some leeway to attack the boss, but the more he approached, the more Thunder Beam got more powerful.
In the end, even if it was more painful, Jake used his shield to block the attack and then threw the sword toward the face of the enemy with the dark flames. The monster knew what Jake was planning, so the boss fired the Thunder Beam toward it without a care. The flash of light made the monster lose sight of him for a moment, but then the attack was stopped.
The monster moved its right-wing because Jake was planning to recover his sword and then attack. However, he never got close enough to do that… After a couple of seconds, the beast saw Jake on the ground… Holding a blazing red spear and ready to throw it.
The boss used Thunder Beam on him, but before he could be hit, Jake threw the weapon. Immediately, the monster changed its target and attacked the spear. Still, thanks to the effect of the weapon, the electricity moved away from the weapon thanks to the heat. Only when it was about to be hit did the monster stop the projectile with its attack… Unfortunately, the flashes of light were too close to the monster's face.
