Chapter 286 Serious Talk (6)

Jake's recovery increased by four hundred points, so in the end, he was satisfied with the result. Things could have been better if he didn't have to split his focus between four battlefields.

Regardless, Jake decided to use the dungeon shop and buy a few of those rings that let him stock mana. It was annoying that he could only buy four of them, but it couldn't be helped. It was for the sake of his future. Now with his wallet empty, Jake really felt like hunting some monsters for a while. Unfortunately, he will have to wait a bit for it.

"The same tricks won't work again, so what should I do?" Jake rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

The mission was going to end in five days, so the enemies will probably try something on the next day or the day after tomorrow… Jake had some time to think about it and prepare as well. In the end, the enemies waited for two days since they underestimated Jake's new power. They didn't expect that he would summon so many crystal wolves over the course of two days.

They only realized their mistake when they began to move their troops, and Jake did the same. In the end, he managed to make five hundred crystal wolves head to all four directions of the base. At the same time, Jake had two thousand Golems, so the enemies still outnumbered him four to one… with that in mind, the masters made the monsters begin to march.

The creatures tried to keep the same slow pace in order to avoid unpleasant surprises, but they had those anyway. During those days, Jake also had some extra time to train throw skills that most people would think that he wouldn't use. They were right, he wouldn't use it in most situations, but he was so pissed that Jake decided to ignore his pride.

The first ones to enjoy the effects of his anger had been the ice golems. They didn't see it since Jake didn't show anything, but all of a sudden, he suddenly threw a spear toward them. The weapon fell right into the middle of their formation, and since it flew too fast thanks to Concentrated Strike and Throw that it exploded… The explosion also made the dark flames on the tip spread around the area, and then it made at least three hundred ice Golems melt.

Jake's attack slowed down the ice Golems, but the others were still fast approaching. He also began to charge a Power Shot, but that one would be a lot less effective than the spear. With that in mind, Jake made the crystal wolves fire numerous ice spears toward the enemies in all directions.

While the attacks reached them, they barely had any power behind them after traveling for so long. Moreover, the crystal wolves weren't that strong yet. So, the monsters stopped their advance and just waited for them to run out of mana. Once that happened, Jake fired the first Power Shot on the skeleton archers. The creatures didn't even see that coming. Still, while that attack had the same effects as the throw of the spear, the area of effect and power had been a lot smaller… only a few dozen enemies had been killed by that.

After not so long, the crystal wolves stopped firing their spells. Thanks to that, the minotaurs and the ice golems began to move. What they didn't expect was the fact that the golems would move in their directions and then quickly form several lines. Once they stopped moving, the crystal wolves made some ice spears emerge from the ground and in front of them.

Luke and the others, when they saw that, couldn't help but frown. They only understood what was happening when the golems began to kick the ice spears with all their might and toward the enemies… a lot faster than before, the projectiles flew toward the minotaurs and ice golems…

The ice golems resisted some of the impacts, but they eventually began to fall apart. As for the minotaurs, they could only try to dodge the projectiles. Those that failed at that ended up impaled by the ice spears.

"This isn't going to end well for us," Luke thought while he was looking at the guys on his base.

None of his guild members were there so that he couldn't trust them completely. He told the truth earlier about the fact that other guilds wanted to see Jake stopped and in a place where they didn't have to worry about. Still, he couldn't take the few guild members that he had in the other bases to help ambush Jake. They had to keep their positions in order to avoid the recklessness of the members of the other guilds.

Those who had the same dream as the guild masters and ended up dying against King Judas truly wanted to see Jake dead. So, Luke's friends were there to stop them when necessary.

"Should I attack him?" Luke asked.

If Luke uses his skill, he will have to bring the others from other guilds in order to avoid problems, but if he does that, Jake won't see him as someone that he could talk to. He would become his enemy through and through… by proxy, everyone in his guild will be seen in the same light, and that might cause more problems than solve them. That was why he couldn't help but hesitate…

For a man who likes to do things his own way and alone, Jake sure knew how to use an army well. It was an army that obeyed all of his commands, but it didn't change the fact that he still was using them better than his enemies. Luke recognized that… in the end, he decided not to attack Jake, but it was only a matter of time before the others told him to do that…

That will complicate things since they will think that his guild wanted to spare of someone who was problematic to all of the others since they had some connection. While he was thinking of a way out, Luke suddenly heard a voice in his head.
