Before Jake could try to jump over it, the salamanders reached the top of the cylinder and began to attack him from there. Jake shook his head when they did that… that sure was a good way to waste time. The head of his ax was pretty large, so he could use that as a shield to block the projectiles and to prevent the weapon from suffering too much damage. Jake enhanced it with Fire Enchantment.
"That being said, while I am not receiving damage here and those guys are literally wasting mana, my summoned monsters are exposed there," Jake thought. "Still, it is convenient that new enemies always underestimate me this much…"
Jake jumped with all his might after he used Explosive Touch. In the blink of an eye, he reached the height of the enemies, and then he began to spin around while using Mana Blades. One or two attacks didn't kill them, but a massive barrage did the job.

"I suppose I need to hurry up even more… this will be annoying, but I will count on Regeneration to endure all that," Jake said and then jumped toward the enemies again.
While he was falling, Jake blocked the frontal attacks with his ax, but then when he landed, he had to hurry about side attacks as well since the monsters were surrounding the entire area. Without any other choice, they made the dark flames disappear from his ax and then created two dark flame shields on his sides to block the enemies' projectiles. At the same time, he buffed his speed and strength with Thor's Blessing, Hermes' Blessing, Hot Blood, and Rage.
Jake increased his speed to the limits while he was charging toward the enemies, and then when he got close enough, he swung his ax with all his might. The frozen salamander tried to headbutt to surprise him, but Jake knew that it was the only thing the monster could do right now to counterattack, and then the creature only headbutted his ax, adding to its piercing power.
After feeling that some enemies were targetting him from behind, Jake used Flash to the side and changed locations. At the same time that he attacked another enemy by surprise, several ice spears landed on the spot he had been a few seconds ago.
"I am saving mana and my skin at the cost of efficiency," Jake thought after repeating that a few more times. However, I am also using more stamina… things won't endure for long like this…"
Jake needed to think of something to do right now in order to solve that mess, the things that he had thought helped him but they were only temporary solutions. He probably underestimated the number of enemies in front of him as well, and now he was paying the price and losing some of his summoned monsters…
It didn't take long for Jake to come up with a solution, but as usual, it was stupidly risky… For that to have any chance of succeeding, he had to use his free points to increase his mentality and willpower. He also activated all of his defensive buffs and made the dark flames shield disappear.
Once his preparations were finished, Jake used Flash toward a group of enemies and then used Steel Tornado. He barely could believe that he truly was using the Beyblade attack… while he was spinning and cutting the necks of the salamanders a bit more with each strike, he felt like dying of cringe overload. Attacking like that wasn't a sign of skill or anything…
As if that wasn't annoying enough, Jake couldn't use Master Thief since he wasn't targetting a single monster at a time… Still, he finished the skill after just a single second considering that he spun five times and he managed to kill five enemies as well.

Jake hated that, but it was truly efficient. By attacking for a single second, most enemies didn't have time to react and aim at him to attack. So, the damage that he suffered was minimal.
Steel Tornado began to level up as well, but its speed wasn't increasing, but it looked like the damage was. While that was close to insanity, Jake decided to use that in his favor, and he began to move to the sides while spinning, which made his attacks reach more enemies. Even though it also made him be attacked more often. Still, thanks to his enhanced magic resistance and the skills that made him recover his health, Jake managed to endure that.
"I guess simplicity as its finest is the best policy…" Jake said, and then he fell to the ground.
After attacking like that for half an hour, Jake was as dizzy as he could be… So he fell to the ground to rest. Somehow, with that crazy way of attacking, he managed to kill almost all the monsters, and his wolves were finishing things up.
In the end, Jake had to get up fast because resting on the freezing snow was anything but comfortable. After that, Jake went to look for the loot, but he didn't find a greatsword like the one he wanted… he felt only more pissed to kick that baldies' ass when he found him again for stealing his preferred weapon.
"Hmm… this is…" Jake said when he saw a helmet that the crusaders used to wear during their missions.

Strength + 15, Endurance + 15, Deflect. Master this item to obtain its effects permanently.
Effect: it grants you the chance to fire back projectiles thrown at you.
Cost: 100 stamina
It was a pretty good skill, so Jake decided to equip the item, even though it covered most of his vision and it felt uncomfortable. Still, he had a good feeling about that, so he decided to keep it until he mastered the item.
