In any case, it seemed that Jake wasn't the only one who could combine Mana Blade with other skills. Diego began to fire those, and they were faster and more powerful than Thunder Slash… Jake tried to dodge most of them, but he had to use his own sword pretty soon, and that ended up paralyzing him.
Diego used that short window of time to approach instantly ahead and then aimed at his neck with the sword and thrust it. Jake blocked the charge, but he still was pushed back for several meters. He was still weak due to the previous fight, so a long fight like that sure will annoy and make things harder for him.
Diego approached again, but then he learned why you should use the same move over and over again against Jake. He used Flash while raising his sword and then ended up hitting the enemy's chest. Despite all the factors and the dark flames on the tip of the sword, the two layers of armor protected Diego, and the impact only pushed him backward for a couple of meters.
For a moment, Diego stopped moving while he accessed the damage to his armor. Still, soon after, more energy came from the box to replenish the energy used.
"How can he do that without mana?" Jake thought.

As one would expect, Jake was unable to see anything, but he was betting that Diego had obtained a new skill to help him with that. At the same time, he came to realize that the machines around him seemed similar to the ones that he saw on the mission to deal with the liches.
"The dark flames of Wrath, do you know from whom you got that skill?" Diego asked.
"From your girlfriend, I can only say Sorry for my devilish charms," Jake shrugged.
"... She was a good person with anger issues, but she helped a lot of people with the power that she had," Diego said while clenching his fists.
"Oh, so it was from your girlfriend," Jake said. "Sorry, but your sob story wasn't effective."
"She was a good friend… Who tried to avenge me!" Diego shouted.
"I see, so she didn't accept your feelings," Jake said. "Tough luck, dude. Still, that happens to everyone. You aren't special."
Diego had a hard time controlling his anger. He felt like Jake's existence had the only purpose of pissing him off. He also didn't know that the existence of those that wanted to kill Jake had a single purpose from his perspective: to be made fun of.
Regardless, Diego realized that even with his speed, direct attacks wouldn't work, so he began to run around Jake. From Jake's perspective, it felt like he was only seeing a slightly slower bolt of lightning flying around him. Regardless, Jake realized a long time ago that Diego could only use the skill to move faster. His attacks couldn't become faster… it still was a troublesome ability, though.
Before attacking directly, Diego began to fire more of the lightning bolts added with the power of Mana Blade. Jake managed to react to those, and the used Deflect to prevent being hit, damaged, and get paralyzed by them. Unfortunately, it was impossible to hit Diego with his speed. Instead of that, Jake ended up hitting those weird machines, and they immediately fired back lightning bolts at him.
Jake dodged them by using Flash. He thought that it would be impossible given their speed, but he pulled it off… unfortunately, he gave Diego the opening that he wanted by not looking at him for a moment…
Diego suddenly moved toward him to make his attack faster. He just ran toward Jake with his sword already pointed at him. Thanks to it, he didn't put much of his own strength behind the attack. Still, with the momentum alone, the impact on the back of his head knocked Jake down and paralyzed his body.
Diego jumped to finish Jake off, only to find a wall of dark flames on his way. Jake got up while checking the back of his head, and it was bleeding quite a bit… there was no time for jokes anymore. That fucking asshole almost pierced the back of his head. That wasn't the fighting style that Jake liked to use against a single enemy, but he decided to ignore his preferences and focus only on the goal… kill that son of a bitch.
Jake summoned some swords using the dark flames and made them fly around him while he watched the thunder armor of the enemy, making the dark flames disappear on Diegoe's armor. At the same time, more electricity came from the machines to help him.
Even in his rage, Jake knew that attacking with the swords of dark flames wouldn't be enough, but he had another thing in store for later. For now, he will have to make do with what he has.
When Diego began to run around again, Jake just closed his eyes and focused his senses. The enemy recognized that as a challenge and then tried to attack Jake's back again. However, before his sword could reach him, Jake's dark flames swords flew to his face. Diego reacted fast enough to jump backward and block them with his own sword, enhanced by electricity. While he didn't suffer any real damage, he still was surprised.
That kind of reaction wasn't supposed to be possible, even to those who had good senses. He could only assume that Jake decided to rely on his instincts. When it comes to battle, the instincts of king Judas were unrivaled. Those who knew him were aware of that…
Diego frowned when he saw Jake still with his eyes closed. That was more than unnerving. He also summoned more swords, as if he was telling him that he could defend himself like that as many times as he wanted.
