Chapter 315 Critical Damage

"The bosses are returning to the base…" Myrna said.

"I can only do one thing at once, stop the enemy or his minions, you choose," Jake declared.

"... We will return to help as soon as possible. Stop him for a couple of minutes, please," Myrna said.

"All right, then," Jake said and then held his sword tightly.

The dungeon master ignored Myrna and the others since he was confident that the eight bosses could deal with them. Moreover, fighting a single human with a body like that… What were his chances of losing? Until now, Jake only managed to barely defend himself. Attacking something of that size that had so much mana stored was impossible. Even Jake was thinking along the same lines.

"I aimed the spear at one of the tanks, but nothing happened… It seems that the glass is thicker and more resilient than expected, or…" Jake thought.

Before he could finish his line of thought, the enemy began to fire dozens of mana bullets toward Jake. While running around, he dodged some of them, and he had to block the vast majority. The giant iron golem also approached while stacking, so Jake had an even harder time dealing with them…

The dark crystal in the sword began to crack, but in the end, Jake decided to ignore that since he had bigger problems. The enemy suddenly got closer to him and then tried to smash him with its whole body. By using Flash, Jake escaped the attack and then slashed the back of the leg of the iron golem while he left a Mark, it wasn't that deep, so it didn't damage the circuits of the body. Still, that was fine for the time being. Jake had other plans of his own…

While he was moving away, Jake kept looking at the six tanks on the mega iron golem. He also saw the place where he had been damaged…

"As expected…" Jake thought.

The enemy jumped and then turned around to fire another Mana Cannon. Jake zigzagging dodged them. However, the enemy began to fire the ones that could change direction. He clicked his tongue in annoyance.

Jake blocked one of them with his sword and then lowered his posture to dodge the other. Unfortunately, the enemy predicted that he would do that and fired another one from above. An explosion happened, and then the enemy lost sight of Jake.

The downside of firing those that could be controlled was the fact that their power was a lot weaker than expected… Jake was hit, but in the end, the enemy lost sight of him and gave Jake the chance to charge instantly toward the enemy and before the enemy could react.

Jake appeared above the knee of the mega iron golem and make his sword pierce that part of the enemy's body. Since the dark flames were concentrated on the tip of the sword and they were spinning like a drill, the sword pierced it deeply.

p In the end, Jake jumped backward when he saw a massive fist approaching. Still, when he jumped away, a blue liquid began to pour from the hole he had made in the armor.

"As expected, the visible capsules of mana were just a diversion," Jake said.

The enemy didn't react after trying to smash Jake. That was one of the worst things that could have happened, after all. The enemy had hidden his sources of energy, but Jake found it and immediately destroyed one of them… which decreased his mobility tremendously.

"Are you in shock or something?" Jake asked. "Overpowering enemies is pretty fun, but finding their weakness and then exploiting them has its charms."

The enemy pointed its hands toward Jake and, for the first time, didn't hold back. The powerful attack had been so powerful that even though Jake escaped by using Flash to three hundred meters away, the shockwave still pushed him a few dozen meters more. The attack created a fifty meters long crater, and the depth was hard to measure…

It didn't take long for the enemy to attack again, and this time, Jake used Flash two times in a row in order to escape the damage. The same thing happened several times in a row since the enemy had lost his mind… for someone smart enough to build those things, the enemy sure was stupid and slow to realize that anger was only making things harder for him.

Regardless, even with a single leg working, the mega iron golem still could fly and then move as fast as possible to collide against Jake. He used Flash to dodge the attack, but after using the skill so many times, the enemy could predict to which direction he would go and the exact point he would land.

On the next attack, the enemy fired a blast with a single arm and then used the other to attack the next point that Jake stopped. Another power explosion happened that almost made Jake become bones. However, he used his defensive buffs in the last second and then survived… despite the pain and his bones and muscles screaming.

Jake charged toward the monster again, and this time, he targeted the other leg of the creature. He managed to reach the target in time, but the enemy reacted fast enough to slap him away before his sword could pierce deeply. Still, he didn't give up after he landed on the ground. Jake aimed at the hole in the armor and then prepared to throw his sword. At that point in time, one would think that he would know better…

The iron golem quickly moved its right arm to protect the damaged part, and that made him smirk. When the enemy pointed the other hand toward him, Jake used Flash, and toward the enemy, he passed through the space between the legs of the mega iron golem and turned around to attack. Still, the enemy only flew away in the opposite direction and then pointed both arms toward him.

"That isn't the right way to fight…" Jake thought while smiling.

The power of the blasts didn't decrease, but the enemy certainly prevented him from attacking the front. Jake kept using Flash to one side to the other, but the aim of the enemy still was superb… he probably had some sensors to find him. Still, when Jake fired some Mana Blades, the enemy didn't even try to dodge or block them… which gave Jake another idea…

"The enemy is heading to its base… at best, I have two minutes," Jake thought. "He probably can repair itself faster there, or he has some spare parts."

Those two minutes passed while the mega iron golem didn't suffer much damage. When he finally saw his base and the enemies fighting his bosses, he knew that his victory was all but assured. He hated the idea of running away from a minuscule enemy, but he knew that he shouldn't underestimate Jake. However, all of a sudden, the lower half of the iron golem stopped working, and then the whole thing began to fall. Before he could fall into a complicated situation. The dungeon master disconnected the upper half from the lower half of the iron golem and then saw what happened while he was flying.

When he turned around, the dungeon master saw Jake with a crossbow in hand and his sword in the other… he finally understood everything. Jake kept attacking with Mana Blades, but he charged a Power Shot and enhanced it with dark flames. That was why his fingers were dripping blood… he charged a lot of power.

"You are persistent like a bug…"

"Aren't you the one who is using other people's mana for your own needs?" Jake asked.

Jake almost could see exactly the face of the anger of the enemy after hearing his swords since he immediately attacked him. Still, Jake used Flash to the side, and when the impact happened, he noticed that the area of destruction caused was a lot smaller than before…

There was this possibility that the enemy was holding back to fool him, but there was also the possibility that the enemy used all of his tanks to attack at the same time… In the end, the enemy began to fly away to the base again, and then Jake decided to finish that once and for all.

Myrna and the others panicked when she saw the dungeon master approaching. Her friends and she were already having a hard time dealing with ordinary bosses. Fortunately, she saw some hope when she noticed that the enemy was running away from Jake after losing half of its body.

Some of her friends had been knocked down unconscious, and only a few others managed to escape with the prisoners so that they would be surrounded and they wouldn't be able to help Jake. That was what she thought until she saw Jake stopped moving… since they weren't going to help him and couldn't do their own job, he decided to abandon them… When she was about to tell everyone to retreat when the enemy pointed his hands toward them, Jake suddenly appeared, piercing through the chest of the enemy…
