"Arilene, cover for those two and make sure that they won't be surrounded," Louise said. "Lana get behind me. We can't let them get you. Focus on healing everyone around and leave the buffs for later."
"All right," Lana said, already understanding the meaning behind the message.
Arilene summoned her ghost archers and began to attack the enemies that approached the group from the sides. They didn't last for long whenever they were called, but whenever the enemies got too close, they put arrows on their faces.
While looking at Julian and Karina fighting, Louise also paid attention to the sides. Everyone in that army was suspiciously fast… it wasn't like those three guilds were filled with slackers, and considering that people like Justin came even after Louise's group, that speed of his and many others seemed unnatural.
Louise focused her senses on the people around her and noticed a weird wave of mana coming from Rhobat and spreading around the area… as expected. He was exercising some influence over the people on the battlefield. If they get rid of him first, then the battlefield could become less problematic…
Louise, while looking around, kept trying to find an opening while Rhobat was fighting, but since he was stronger, he didn't have to worry about making mistakes. When some enemies approached them from the sides, Louise summoned thunderbolts and hit them. Still, those that were too close to Rhobat managed to dodge, while those that were further away failed at that since they were slower.
After seeing their allies falling for those attacks, many people took notice of Louise, but she failed at drawing the attention of Rhobat and Justin the way he wanted in order to force some openings.
After using the spells a few times, Louise stopped and closed her eyes to meditate, and at that moment, dozens of enemies charged toward her. Arilene tried to stop them, but the enemies protected their heads and hearts with their weapons and blocked the arrows… She was unable to stop them. Eventually, Louise was completely surrounded, and Rhobat and Justin lost sight of her.
"Heh, it is over," Justin said.
Despite that, Julian didn't lose the focus on the enemy in front of him, and that puzzled Justin quite a bit. All of a sudden, he stopped his attacks when he saw his allies behind his target suddenly falling on the ground… somehow, Louise stopped them completely, and at the last moment…
When Justin showed his look of surprise, Julian charged and, with a horizontal slash, attacked the neck of the enemy. That caught Justin off guard… forcing him to use Full swing as fast as possible to repel the attack and while he succeeded, the impact made him move backward for several meters, and one of his swords dangerously approached his neck and cut it a bit…
That was another way to use his power… Julian could just force the enemies to show their true strength and use it against them. As for Rhobat, he didn't let disturb his focus. When Karina just disappeared and then jumped toward him, he just blocked her daggers with his before kicking her in the stomach.
"Don't lose your focus," Rhobat said. "Your ex-girlfriend is on the list of dangerous targets, so it is obvious that she can do his much. Just wait patiently, the others are already being defeated, and the guys here will be surrounded eventually."
"It won't be fun unless I defeat all of them myself…" Justin said while checking the wound in his neck.
Rhobat sighed… It was rare to find such a talented individual on the other side, but it seemed that controlling him was useless… might as well let him learn things the hard way since he didn't have much of a hard time since he came to that universe.
That being said, Rhobat was also interested in how Louise could use so much mana when the people she was facing were mostly warriors that weren't using any magic. It must be because of the healer behind her… Rhobat could also tell that she was healing a lot of people around and making people in that front a lot tougher to bring down… those two had to be brought down faster.
Justin suddenly charged at Julian as fast as he could, and when Julian used his skill to block the attack, the enemy suddenly disappeared, leaving an afterimage behind… Julian turned around to face the enemy, but even before he could finish that move, he heard the sound of lighting being fired.
He saw the Shadow of the enemy behind him disappear, and then he saw the lightning bolt moving toward him. However, the bolt turned upward at the last moment and avoided Julian but hit the enemy above him.
"Ughh…" Justin grunted in pain while he was hit.
Despite the fact that he was bit by a lightning bolt, Justin survived since Louise controlled her mana to be able to move the bolt as freely as she wanted. Julian readied himself to finish off the enemy when he fell, but then Rhobat suddenly approached him and swung his knives at his thrust. Sensing the danger, Julian jumped away, but the weapons still hit his throat.
"Julian!" Louise shouted.
"I am… fine," Julian suddenly got up after rolling on the ground for a few times. "Thank you, big sis."
Louise noticed Lana's left hand over her shoulder and pointed at Julian. She buffed his endurance, but some blood still was falling from his neck… it was impossible to block the full damage of a direct attack like that, no matter the amount of endurance that he had, after all.
Although she sighed in relief, Louise saw the wound in Julian's neck getting bigger, if even slowly… when she looked at Karina, she also saw wounds following the same pattern… that was Rhobat's new power… a power that could cause the death of his enemies even with a single cut. Due to that, she began to sweat cold… she couldn't let those kids die.
