Chapter 372 The True Enemy

After not so long, the trembling stopped, but the dark aura covering the entire area didn't grow any weaker. Everyone was curious to see what was going to leave the cave, but instead of thinking about that, Jake focused on harnessing his mana on his sword. He would need as much as possible to fight that terrible aura… much more than everyone around had combined… he wasn't surprised by the aura, he knew that the enemy would be strong, but even so, he couldn't help but flinch, the time has come for his rematch.

While the remaining humans were readying themselves for the battle of their lives, a random spectral archer suddenly appeared on the top of a mountain a couple of kilometers away from that location. With a longbow in his left hand, he held his weapon tightly while waiting to use it. Aside from the fact that he was humanoid and had a bow in his hands, there wasn't much else to say since his body was emitting a powerful light blue glow that hid his entire body. His aura was powerful, and in any other circumstances, he was supposed to be felt by the people around the cave, but the terrifying aura of the creature inside the cave was more powerful…

After a couple of minutes, something left the dungeon… it was quite hard to describe such a being, even though it was obviously humanoid. The entire body of the creature was emitting a dark red miasma that made people feel their skin crawl.

Although that creature was only 1,9 meters tall, its head was strangely big, the eyes were also bigger than normal, but the weirdest thing was the iris in the eyes… instead of being round, it had a triangular shape while it was red and the ocular globe was pitch dark…

That thing wasn't even walking. It was floating with its arms slightly open as if it was trying to show its perfect body. It seemed to be a male, even though the muscles weren't that massive… but it was hard to say since the thing was also wearing the lower part of a dark red armor that looked as sturdy as fuck.

Jake made the mistake of trying to see the status of that guy, but he only got a powerful headache in exchange… meanwhile, the others didn't even think of doing that. They only gulped nervously while they were taking steps away from the enemy. The worse thing was the fact that the enemy wasn't even looking at them yet… that guy was looking at a mountain behind them. It was like he was only seeing small worms, not even blocking his path.

While clenching his fists and teeth, Jake took a step forward, but then he stopped when the enemy opened its mouth… a powerful energy beam flew toward the mountain behind them. The impact completely decimated the whole mountain and also made the entire continent tremble… some people teleported away to other worlds when they considered the possibility of being hit by that…

Jake couldn't blame them for their fear… he wanted to kill that thing more than anything, but his whole body seemed a lot heavier than before. As if the enemy could only see a pebble on its way while looking at that mountain behind, it kept looking at it, and the expression on its face slightly turned to one of annoyance.

"You are still chasing me? What a waste of time… I will eventually find you all."

The voice of the enemy was so filled with hatred that those around who heard it felt like their eardrums were being pierced by shards of glass. Some of them even began to bleed through them…

Jake wanted to know who the heck that guy was talking about, but he didn't have the leisure to turn around and look in that direction. He almost could see himself dying if he lost his focus for a single instant… eventually, the enemy's eyes turned to Jake, and then he began to float toward him. He began to sweat profoundly… and the others behind began to feel even worse. Some people fainted, and others ran away by using the system… the aura of that creature alone probably could defeat all of them if he got too close.

"The final human… Judas."

Jake bit his lips in annoyance until they began to bleed. He thought that he had gotten over his name, but when he heard coming from the mouth of that thing, he got pissed like never before. Still, he calmed down when he heard the sound of his party members gasping for air… he had to do something to help them and keep that asshole at bay.

If an aura filled with hatred was really a thing, then Jake didn't have to think too much about how to counter it. He made up his mind, and he recalled the feelings that he had when he fought alongside the others before going solo. His mana answered to his will, and his own presence began to fight back against the aura of the enemy in front of him.

"Strengthen your will and make up your mind about this battle. What do you want to do? Win? Survive?" Jake asked. "Decide what you want and strengthen your will to the limits."

Jake's words confused everyone, but then they noticed that he didn't look as bothered by the enemy's presence as before. Maybe that was some sort of trick or technique, but those that were willing to fight to the very end followed his words. Their mana answered to their wills, and it began to fight back that terrible aura… they couldn't even breathe properly before, but now they could look at the enemy without feeling like they were about to piss themselves.

"You, of all people leading the remaining humans? You, who was the most hated and feared man of your generation? Pathetic beings made of such weak flesh like you truly are pathetic…"
