"Well… what are we going to do now?" Darya asked. "The only way to discover what is going is to use the purple crystal or talk with my grandfather, and I guess none of those situations will end well."
"You are right… if your grandfather can make a harvester run away, we are no match for him." Leon said. "As for the master of the undead Trent, he received a massive pool of mana, and that made him an obstacle impossible to defeat in his domain."
Leon wondered if he could create a magic item that could store his mana, most of the time, he was practicing his spells, strengthening them and making good use of his recovery. However, it looked like a good idea to store his mana in an object, maybe to use as a bomb of mana, or perhaps to restore his own mana in the middle of a complicated battle. The problem was, he had no idea how to do that. Leon created thousands of magic items so far, and none of them had such skill or effect.
"It would be a pain to transport those containers and not make good use of the mana liquid," Leon added. "Let's stay here for a while until we use all the mana liquid."
"What are we going to do if another undead Trent appears?" Darya asked.
"We will defeat it, we already know the best way to do it, after all," Leon answered.
In the end, Leon had to create another spear since that one lost its sharpness, and it was damaged. Meanwhile, Darya trained to reproduce Lightning. They stayed there for two days practicing their spells and making good use of the mana liquid, but no lich or undead Trent appeared, and that made Leon and Darya conclude one thing.
"I don't know how, but it looks like someone on the other side of the purple crystal obtained the power to control the other purple crystal and choose of sending monsters to this world or not," Leon said.
"That seems the case..." Darya furrowed her eyebrows. "I didn't want to think of this, but perhaps the other world is a place that in an advanced stage of the assimilation. Usually, it wouldn't be possible for two planets to keep a link like that when they are in different stages… but if we consider that someone is using their own mana to keep the dungeon connecting both worlds…"
"If that is possible, why the harvesters didn't do the same?" Leon asked.
"Most likely, because they lack the specific skills or the mana necessary to do so," Darya answered. "They are fighters, not wizards."
If that was the case, it looked like the god of death, who was the master of the undead Trent, was also a type of harvester... it was a pain since it looked like individuals like that wanted to grow stronger and could do so in many ways.
"It pains me to say this, but we can't face the master of the undead Trent, and we don't have the means to make your grandfather give us the answers we want," Leon said. "In any case, we obtained the things we wanted here. Let's leave this place."
Since Leon and Darya were on the southern part of the continent, instead of returning to the north, they headed toward the south. In the end, it wasn't a good idea to stay in a single place for too long.
When they approached the island, Leon recalled that Darya said something about a system that prevented harvesters from invading the continent. Still, he wondered why Darya didn't say anything when they tried to leave the continent for the first time. So, he decided to ask her about it.
"... I thought you decided to use an underground path because you knew the defense system couldn't stop anyone from invading through underground paths." Darya frowned.
"No, I just chose that option because we wouldn't be seen," Leon said. "If the defense system has such a weakness, why didn't harvesters discover this until now?"
"They probably already know, but they wouldn't accept invading the continent using such methods," Darya explained. "Besides, their goal is to become stronger. So, the most efficient way to do that is by fighting against the soldiers of our world. They probably try to invade to make the soldiers more eager to fight and kill them."
Leon frowned after hearing that. It sounded pretty stupid... he also wanted to obtain power, but he wouldn't care about the means. As long as he obtains the power to return home and protect his friends, he wouldn't worry about such silly things. If they genuinely wanted to get stronger, the harvester would kill their targets and move to another planet... but considering that they were deemed to be fake harvesters, it couldn't be helped that they were using such a roundabout way.
