"He's the third son of prominent large sized noble family. They control a lot of resources to be able to force the royal family in giving them many pardons when crimes are committed by their members," Abigail explained without the slightest change in her expression.
Noah couldn't help but wonder if he was allowed to know such things. Which he knew he wasn't. Though only a bit, he had taken some classes about politics, and his current situation worried him.
Abigail Informed him about a few other things which Noah didn't really find important, all he wanted to know was how strong the man currently was.
And to his surprise Abigail told him she couldn't give him that Information.
This greatly pleased Noah, knowing that at least a bit of Information was withheld from him, though he really wanted to know.
The man and his escort of five arrived at that point. During that short period, Noah had told James to give them a little space, he didn't really know if the man had any bad intentions.
"Good day sir Noah. I see you are enjoying yourself," The man bowed slightly.
Noah could only stare at that gesture, though he knew the man's name, he couldn't just say it. Abigail said to let him Introduce himself before further Interactions.
Seeing his difficulty in reacting, the young looking man continued, "I am Felix, third son of the house of Meriol. A large sized family with many lands to our name," Felix boasted.
"It's a pleasure to meet you sir," Noah started. Although he didn't know Felix's cultivation level he could definitely feel that it was higher than his', even more than Abigail.
"What do I owe the greetings of someone of such high caliber as you," Noah bowed, while he cringed to know end in his mind.
He was currently doing as Abigail Instructed. According to her, Felix was one of those really strong spoilt brats who loved it when they were exalted by others. It was a way the royal family bought their way into his life.
A wide smile appeared on Felix's face, his eyes landing on Abigail for a moment.
He didn't know who she was, but seeing as she had arrived with Noah, she was most likely attached to the royal family.
"Good. Good," Felix laughed, his laughter attracting some attention. Most small or medium sized noble families gasping when they saw who Noah conversed with.
"I will like to have a moment with you alone," Felix suddenly said, half of his attention on Abigail's expression.
Seeing that her blank expression flickered for a second he affirmed his previous theory.
"Yes I will like a word with you, away from prying eyes," Felix smiled at Noah, who could only smile back while he had a conversation with Abigail.
"Normally I wouldn't ask you for permission to do anything. But seeing as you were assigned as an escort to me, I assume there are somethings I am not allowed to do," Noah said as he had begun to understand what Moses said earlier, his mood getting cold with each passing second.
"But what should I do." Noah eventually said after a billi-second of silence.
"Go with him," Abigail stated. "He definitely won't hurt you, but I just want you to remember that you owe the royal family," Abigail's voice sounded as she unwrapped her arm from Noah's before he could speak.
"Ah good!" Felix exclamained, gesturing at Noah to follow him. Which Noah did still in a bit of a daze from what happened.
The group of six walked out of the massive room and into the compound of wherever the party was. Noah finding himself in a courtyard after a minute or so.
A soft breeze blew on Noah's face while he and Felix stood in the middle of the courtyard. Felix had sent his guards or so, to stand watch if anyone was coming.
Staring at the small pond at the side, which reflected the half Moon in the sky. Noah's mind wheezed through thoughts in milliseconds.
He thought to what Abigail had said earlier, and it worried him. Since when did he owe the royal family?. What exactly would they ask of him for whatever he owed them?.
He could had slight ideas for the second question, and he immediately didn't like it. Pushing those worrying thoughts to the back of his mind, Noah focused on the problem at hand, Felix.
Although Abigail said he wouldn't hurt him, it didn't change the fact that scenarios like this usually ended badly.
"I'm truly sorry for the invite on such short notice, but I promise it won't be a waste of your time," Felix started trying to lighten the mood, but failed miserably.
Nodding slightly at the man's words, Noah kept a blank expression, and tried his best not to make it falter.
"What i have to say to you, is about joining a faction in my family. Although many of us weren't able to appear physically in the event, we were able to watch from our various abodes, and we've seen what you can do." Felix started, still keeping his boastful expression.
"Although many of us are skeptical about your origin as we couldn't find much about you. We are certain that you are valuable, and are worthy enough to recieve such an offer.
I have spoken with my brothers and they all concur to this decision," He stopped for a few seconds, his eyes fully on Noah at this point.
"What exactly do I get from joining your noble family sir," Noah smiled, trying to act interested.
A bright smile bloomed on Felix's face, he seemed to have bought Noah's acting, but only he knew that he himself simply played along.
As someone who had entered the realm of tier 3 experts, there were many things he had seen. Although he remained a spoilt brat in his core he too wasn't dumb. Actually, he had led battles in the past making a name for himself in the process.
"There are many things, but one of the important one is that you get access to our family's spirit-core pool," Felix said his voice gaining a sharp and slightly excited tone to it. Noah getting curious Instantly.
"May I know what it does," Noah asked genuinely curious about the new word.
"Good question. When bathed in it-" Felix couldn't complete his words since a powerful aura landed in their midst.
Immediately snapping his head towards the sky, Noah saw the floating figure of Elder Malachi, draped in a long sky-blue garment which flickered with many inscriptions of white radiance.
"Ah! young master Felix, it's a pleasure to see you. I trust you are having a nice time," Elder Malachi's voice rang out with a light smile on his face.
Felix's boastful expression immediately flickered at that point. But he managed to pull himself together replying the next Instant.
"It's also good to see you, Elder Malachi, and yes I am having a good time. With our star winner too," Felix gestured at Noah.
Noah immediately sensed the elders gaze on his body. Feeling uncomfortable Noah greeted, "Good evening elder" Noah bowed deeply.
No reply came for a few seconds, a frown appearing on Noah's face while he remained in a bowing position.
"Young master Felix, I hope you wouldn't mind if I borrow him," Elder Malachi suddenly said.
Felix immediately laughed, "Definitely not Elder," Felix said walking away from the courtyard, but when he got inside the building his expression turned wrathful as he clenched his fists, going on to converse with his brothers secretly as they weren't present in the current celebration.
Being left alone with the still floating Elder, Noah straightened his position. A smile on his face while he looked at the man.
"You can stop pretending sir Noah. I watched you for a whole week, I know you enough to tell that you are pretending," Elder Malachi's voice eventually rang out.
Noah tried to keep his smile after the man's words ended, but after a few seconds of staring at the man's cold smile, a frown flickered and set on his face.
"What do you want?," Noah's annoyed voice sounded an instant later.
