Noah and his golems appeared in a wide field resembling that on the first floor, only that the yellow ball that represented the sun stood high in the sky illuminating everything in that place.
Throughout the three days, he had been there, the sun had never gone down, and due to this, he had barely been able to keep track of time. But he did. Somehow.
The grassy field looked stunning as a soft wind blew across it, allowing the grass to flow graciously, but Noah wasn't concerned about beauty.
The pitch-black figure that stood right at the center of the field had gained the entirety of his attention.
[Kill the boss to move on to the next floor]
"That looks dangerous," Noah muttered allowing more magical circles that revealed 12ft tall golems to expand around him.
Throughout the three days, he had spent within the maze his forces had dwindled and he had needed to recreate them.
The numbers of his golems reached two hundred now that he added to them.
The hollow before him was only level 125, but he had learned enough about the daytime Hollows to not underestimate it.
He almost felt certain that his army of golems would be unable to hold it down if it charged forward, that was how much he knew.
Noah soon felt a gaze land on his figure, and he knew immediately that he had been noticed. But seeing as he stood in the center of his golems, it felt weird that its sight could bypass their figures.
His dagger which was already in his hand saw essence start to flow into its structure. Noah knew that he could compromise the structural integrity of the dagger if he did it too much, which was why he only used that ability when he felt it necessary, and that situation surely fit his standards.
The duo seemed to go into a stare-off, but it ended when the pitch black figure standing at about 5m in height disappeared from its position.
The hollow was well into the higher stage, so it could achieve speeds that its middle-stage types could not have.
Noah felt his mind lose connection to about twelve golems at the outermost edge of the formation he had created.
Since he wanted an all-round defense, he had created four walls of golems numbering fifty each. He had made sure that their closeness was consistent throughout each of the rows, but that hollow was tearing through them with ease.
Noah clicked his tongue and searched for a skill that he could utilize to stop its rampage.
Another 10 golems found their figures destroyed in the next second, but the hollow suddenly changed positions to his front.
'It's quicker than I thought,' Noah contemplated calmly as a skill he had not used in a long while came into existence around him.
[Lightning Flakes[Active]: Cover the radius of your mental consciousness with hundreds of floating flakes made of highly condensed lightning. Whatever that comes in contact with these flakes triggers their explosion, capable of tier 3 power]
However, only after he cast it did he realize a fundamental issue. Since he couldn't unfold his consciousness, he couldn't force the spell to spread out, meaning he would be in the middle of the spell, and seeing as literally hundreds of the flakes were exiting the magical circle beneath him, his eyes could only grow cold.
"Fuck!" Noah cursed trying to sprint out of that place, but he remained too slow for the flake's explosion.
Due to how muddled the flakes were and their nature of detonating even if they touched each other, an explosion that wiped out all of Noah's golems and spread for hundreds of meters in all directions unfolded, even catching the hollow in its explosives power.
Noah felt the searing heat of his spells wash over him. His clothes disappeared and every ounce of hair on his body disappeared.
His back experienced deep burns, and his bald head turned charred. Noah was badly burnt on the backside of his body and his front side remained bad, but not as worse as his back-side.
Blinding pain reached Noah's mind and he wished he could turn off his pain receptors since he felt his consciousness grow blurry.
He feared passing out since there remained a hollow on the loose, even if he didn't know what had happened to it.
His healing had kicked in, but it would take a long while and most of his cores contents before he could completely heal, and he was going to pass out, which he did, but right before doing so he placed his hand on the ground and summoned a number of 300 golems to protect him.
Darkness filled Noah's consciousness at that point and he fell unconscious.
With a gasp, he returned to being, and he immediately sat up to sweep his gaze on his surroundings.
Noah didn't even inspect his body as his eyes first fell on the many golems he had created. But there didn't seem to be anything wrong.
He had managed to position himself at their center, so he didn't know exactly what was going on on the edges of the formation.
Noah stood at that point; not minding his naked state. A potion appeared in his hand and he drank it, before casting his speed armor.
Walking towards the edge of the golems, Noah watched as they made way for his figure.
He eventually left the golems and the field expanded in his eyes.
There was a completely charred portion spanning about a kilometer in radius, but the hollow was nowhere to be found.
Noah didn't know how long he had been out, but that scene caused him to fall into mild confusion. He searched the other parts, and eventually found a yellow figure.
"It's still alive," Noah muttered moving closer to the figure but remaining a good distance. It had its legs removed and due to this couldn't move.
"That was easy," Noah chuckled a bit. His mistake had been powerful enough to take out the legs of the hollow.
He went with the theory that the energy contained within the explosion had filled its legs with too much energy and in the process ended up blowing up.
