"You should probably spit that out," Noah suggested gazing at the chained lady. She coughed whole mouthfuls of blood, as the essence fought with the mana within her. Humans unlike elves weren't favored by the world, meaning a lesser connection to mana than elves. The effects were evident nevertheless.
"What did you do, Aiden?" Elder Ezra commanded moving closer to him. Her expression speaking of her distatse to that event.
"I didn't do anything apart from my lightning bolt. She's the one who tried to absorb the energy within the sparks to improve her power," Noah explained shaking his head with a blank expression.
He lacked the ability to feel emotions. All that happened did not bother him. They worked for his research even. His mission as the last Speedling was geared towards those types of experiments.
Elder Ezra frowned deeply at that point before focusing on the emerald-haired lady. Bearing the name Karla, she remained an expert of a mistake unknown background. Or rather her existence dated too many years prior. She had kept a low profile for many decades allowing the public to forget about her. Her actions had never been flashy after all.
All that they could get was that she had been the descendant of a small noble family that had been wiped out during a skirmish with other nobles.
She seemed to have gained a connection with the elves in an attempt to get revenge. But that conclusion remained mere speculations. The guild master had refused to hand her over to the royal family.
They had been unable to force him into the decision. He remained an expert feared even amongst the ranks of the 5th tier existences. And also his terrible bond.
Karla had the features of a lady in her mid-thirties, she remained above average in terms of looks, like most individuals in such ranks. The only issue being that the luster of an expert at her level had died off.
After all, even if Elder Ezra toned down the expression of her power, her features were still enhanced by her passive power.
Blood continued to flow out of Karla's mouth and soon Noah had to stretch his hand to call upon the essence within her system. It couldn't kill her due to its amount but had succeeded in weakening her. Even if only by a bit. She was still a tier 5 existence in the end.
"My actions have done you a favor," Noah turned to face his elder whilst a small stream of silver energy floated out of Karla's body.
He turned the flowing mass into an orb and allowed it to enter his cultivation room. His silver eyes focused on Elder Ezra who remained unsure of what actions to take next.
She furrowed her brows and her consciousness wrapped around him as she moved to leave that place.
"After bringing a freak to hurt me you leave!" Karla taunted spitting blood and gazing at Noah's leaving figure. How he had done what he did continued to baffle her.
He was merely a 4th tier expert yet he had hurt her!
If there were any greater feats than that, then the standards of power had to have been destroyed in the years she was locked up.
Elder Ezra pulled Noah out of that room and the strange darkness filled its insides, while the devices that sucked mana into them returned to full power.
Stopping along the hallway she let him go and asked him to follow her again. In truth, her mind still trembled from what she had witnessed. What sort of monster was he to achieve such?
It remained even more shocking when the truth was that his attack had been ineffective but his energy had. If he wasn't utilizing mana then what did he utilize to power his existence?
"I have no idea what to do with you. You were not supposed to be too much of an issue, but I see that things might change," she revealed as calculations ran through her mind.
A major event was to happen. Sarah had decided to approach the guild's position. But there wasn't much time on their hand. In a bit over a week, they would lunch their attack on the said base.
'We can use him,' She considered gazing at the blank expression of the young-looking man before her. He had to be the most good-looking person she had laid eyes on.
"There is a war ongoing," Noah suddenly spoke. "You will need help in such battles. I will be of great help to you, don't you think?"
"What do you think will happen if someone as strong as you appeared in the fields of war?"
"I'll reap many lives," Noah immediately commented. "But I'll also gain many enemies amongst the ranks of both the enemy and even this nation."
"I will be considered a great threat to them. They will utilize me greatly but when things calm down I will be too dangerous. And my life will be in danger," he explained showing just how much he had thought.
"And you still want to join this battle. I've seen great individuals die," Elder Ezra tried to get to the bottom of the issue.
"Yes. I desire to do so," he stated.
The elder shook her head at that point. "There are still too many things about you that don't sit well with me. Still, you have shown your worth and ability to be trusted. It would be wrong to not use you. Even till death."
Noah simply gave a smile even if he felt nothing. Her decision would assist him in getting rid of certain issues. One of them being the fact that he required experts to kill and gain levels.
Destroying the eleven base in the Orphos region had been great. But now he required more to level up. Even killing middle staged beast would not do much to him now. He either needed stronger experts or a significant number of weaker experts.
And about the issue of him getting too strong. He had a wonderful solution to it. It would be the first time he had utilized that skill.
"Before we deploy you, we must get you to understand a few things. Like making you take the oath," Elder Ezra revealed already leading him forward.
"There no need for me to take the oath," Noah stated in a suggestive tone, and his words made her snap her head towards him. He spoke outrageous things.
"That's--" Her words were cut short by the blue light of teleportation that flashed before her eyes.
Elder Adonis appeared before her, his expression slightly shaken.
"There's news."
