When the helicopter landed on the helipad of Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei's home, Chen Lihua was helped out of the heli, by a bodyguard.
And when she looked into the distance, she immediately saw Liu Longwei, who was sitting and drinking a glass of red wine.
Immediately he saw her climb down from the chopper, Liu Longwei smiled and stood up to approach her with the wine glass in his hand.
"Give me a hug," he said as he spread his arms.
Chen Lihua smiled before running into his warm embrace.
While hugging him, she sniffed in his scent with closed eyes.
"You smell like a hospital," Liu Longwei said while hugging her back.
"What are you talking about? It's disinfectant," Chen Lihua chuckled softly as she replied.
"Ok. You must be tasty, drink this," Liu Longwei handed the wine glass to her after he released her from his embrace.
"What kind of husband serves his exhausted wife a glass of red wine when she is tasty?" Chen Lihua asked in a smile while accepting the glass from him.
Liu Longwei watched her down the whole thing before taking the empty glass from her, as he replied to her, "Your husband."
Liu Longwei held her waist as he led her into the house, and to their bedroom.
He took her bag and coat from her while ushering her into the bathroom, "I know you haven't had anything to eat today, so, take a shower while I get dinner for you."
"Thank you," Chen Lihua replied gratefully before going into the bathroom.
About thirty minutes later, Chen Lihua was done with her bathing and eating.
She laid down on her side of the bed and fell asleep immediately her head hit the pillow.
While in her sleep, she could feel someone massaging her body, and that help to loosen her tensed muscles.
Liu Longwei heard his wife sigh in relief and smiled to himself.
Having massaged her body for a while, Liu Longwei lay beside her and hugged her to sleep.
That night, Chen Lihua slept soundly and woke up early the next morning strong and happy.
At first, she wanted to leave for the hospital in a rush without having breakfast. But Liu Longwei stopped her in time.
When Chen Lihua arrived at the hospital, the news of her coming to the hospital in a chopper yesterday had already spread.
Chen Lihua calmly took the elevator to her department floor. Then after settling in, she made a round of visit to her patient before going back to her office.
That same morning, she received a text from her mother, telling her that they had a little reunion party. She also left the time and location for it, but Chen Lihua didn't reply to the message and continued with her work.
When she went home that day, she told Liu Longwei the contents of the text, to which he agreed on it, and told her that his parents sent him a text with the same location, date, and time.
Chen Lihua said she wasn't going for any stupid family reunion party, that she would rather spend her time in the hospital taking care of her patients than to meet with her parents.
But Liu Longwei convinced her that his parents would be present as well, so she had to come.
Chen Lihua contemplated the matter before agreeing to it.
Since after their wedding, she hadn't seen her parents-in-law. So she had to attend the reunion party to accord them that respect.
It would be a foolish act for her not to go because she had an altercation with her parents.
So after checking on her patient the next day, and confirming that she had no concerning problem that would require another surgery, or for her to in danger, she approved for her to be moved to the regular care room.
She told her patient's family that she would have to stay there for about ten days plus before she would be discharged. And before she would be discharged, she would have to meet them again for further interaction.
In the evening, Chen Lihua went back home to bath and freshen up. And she went together with her husband to the venue.
Liu Longwei and Chen Lihua were the last to arrive, as the Chen's and the Liu's were already in merriment before they arrived.
Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei apologized to them for arriving late.
While apologizing, Chen Lihua didn't spare her parents a glance. She only smiled at her mother-in-law and father-in-law.
The elders (Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei's parents) didn't punish them and instead asked them to take a seat because they were their children.
Their parents asked them about work, and they replied positively.
Coincidentally, Chen Lihua was sitting in between her father and Liu Longwei, and Liu Longwei sat in between Chen Lihua and his father.
Mr. Liu sat in between his son and wife while Madam Liu sat in between her husband and Lady Chen. Lady Chen sat in between Madam Liu and Chen K.
Then lastly, Chen K sat in between his wife and daughter.
After ordering their food, the men started talking about their businesses and companies, until Madam Liu cut them off.
"Why do you mean like talking about your work at the dining table?"
Then she focused her gaze on Chen Lihua, as she asked lovingly, "Lihua dear, hope Longwei doesn't bore you with his work?"
"Not at all mother, Longwei takes good care of me," Chen Lihua replied in a smile.
"Mum, did you hear that?" Liu Longwei asked his mother proudly.
"Don't rejoice so soon," Madam Liu chided him affectionately.
After their food was served, and there was silence, Chen K tried to talk to his daughter, but Chen Lihua caught on to it on time, so she immediately spoke to Liu Longwei.
"Longwei has this," she said while using her chopsticks to transfer a piece of meat to his plate.
Liu Longwei, who had been observing things between the father and daughter pair smiled to himself.
He just didn't know what to do again.
Chen K sighed before glancing at his wife, who blinked her eyes at him, signaling him to stay calm.
