Chapter 333 - Madam Liu's worry

This new subject alone caused the Old ladies to become excited as they pestered Old Lady Long for more details.

Old Lady Liu, on the other hand, smiled from ear to ear as she listened to their conversation.

"Enough talking about my family, let's talk about something else," Old lady Liu said from the side.

The old ladies gathered around chuckled softly, but they listened to her.

They talked about various topics, ate and drank, and also played games like mah-jong, etc.

After the first round of the game, it was time for the birthday celebrant to cut her cake, so her only son Mr Gu came to her side to support her.

The other Old Ladies, including Old Lady Liu, followed after them.

After cutting the cake, Old Lady Liu said goodbye to her friends before leaving the party with Chen Lihua and Madam Liu.

"Mother, how was the party? Did you have fun?" Madam Liu inquired.

"The party was fine, and I had so much fun. It is always fun hanging out with my friends," Old Lady Liu replied.

"Grandmother, since you had fun with your friends today, try going out to meet them sometimes," Chen Lihua suggested with a smile.

The Old Lady glanced at her and took her hand in hers as she replied in a smile, "Alright, I will listen to you."

"Mother, look, you never listen to me. But one word from your granddaughter-in-law, you already agreed with her. But let's see if you would do what you are agreed on," Madam Liu whined.

"Mother, you don't have to worry about that because I will keep tabs on grandmother and make sure she does," Chen Lihua said cheerfully, before turning her gaze to the road.

The journey back to the Liu house went smoothly. When they arrived, Chen Lihua and Madam Liu helped Old Lady Liu out of the car.

Madam Liu gave two female servants that came out to welcome them a sidelong glance, and they helped Old Lady Liu inside.

Chen Lihua gave Old Lady Liu a warm hug before the servants escorted her inside.

"Lihua dear, why don't you spend the night here because of your safety, instead of being on the road this late at night?" Madam Liu suggested worriedly.

Chen Lihua held her hands and assured her with a smile, "Don't worry about me, mother. I will be fine. Since Longwei didn't mention anything about staying over, I am sure the matter is not serious."

Madam Liu sighed and continued, "But my heart is not at ease. Just stay for the night. Even if you have to be in the hospital tomorrow, you can leave from here. At most, you will have to leave early tomorrow morning."

"Mother, I said I would be fine. I am not scared of anything, and nothing will happen to me. They will ensure my safety," Chen Lihua said while pointing at her escorts.

"Go on, mother. Don't miss me too much, goodnight," Chen Lihua said to her mother-in-law.

Seeing that her daughter-in-law insisted on leaving that night, Madam Liu sighed before yielding, "Alright, get on the car. I will watch you leave."

"Thank you, mother," Chen Lihua said in a hug before she got into the Rolls Royce.

Then Madam Liu stood as she watched the three cars leave her sight.

"What are you doing standing out in the cold night?" a voice spoke from behind her as a warm cloth covered her shoulders.

Recognizing her husband's voice, Madam Liu turned with a smile on her face as she clasped the cloth placed on her shoulders.

"When did you come back?" Madam Liu asked.

"An hour ago," Liu Huang replied as he led her inside.

"Did Longwei mention anything to you today?" Madam Liu asked in concern. She was obviously still worried about her daughter-in-law's safety.

Liu Huang understood her question, so he replied, "Yes, he did. Don't worry about Lihua. She will be safe; our son will make sure of that."

"He is taking a big risk! She could have stayed the night!! Why did he have to make her go back this night?" Madam Liu puffed angrily. She couldn't believe her son would risk his wife's life. Didn't he love her anymore?

"Our son has his ways. If he let her spend the night here, her life would be more at risk because he may not know when they would strike again. But now that he has got eyes on them, he needed to get rid of them as soon as possible. So this is the perfect opportunity for that," Liu Huang explained.

"Are you telling me that Longwei is using his wife as a bait?" Madam Liu said in an alarmed tone.

Liu Huang quickly covered her mouth as he led her to their room.

"Biyu, keep your voice down! Mother might hear you."

"How can I keep my voice down when our son is taking such a dangerous step? How will I explain this to Ju Ju if anything happens to her daughter?" Madam Liu said with her heart in turmoil as she paced around the room.

"Honey, you need to calm down. Our son loves Lihua so much that he would risk his life for her. Don't worry. He is on his way already; he will rescue her personally. And the president is aware, so he lent a helping hand. Don't worry, Lihua would be fine," Liu Huang assured her as he led her to sit on the bed.

"It would be better if Longwei risks his life to save Lihua. I have four children, and it would be painful to lose any of them. But Ju Ju has only Lihua. If anything happens to her daughter, she will go crazy," Madam Liu said, almost in tears. She recalled the dilemma of her good friend, Lady Chen's when she lost her twins.

"Honey, don't cry. Everything will be alright," Liu Huang assured her one more time as he hugged her.

On the way back to Liu Longwei's villa, Chen Lihua didn't look troubled at all. Instead, she requested for music.

K2 glanced at the driver before putting on some music for her. The volume was low, but it was just right for Chen Lihua to hear.

Chen Lihua's eyes met with K2, but she moved her eyes away within seconds. She could sense that something was wrong.

Two minutes later, her cell phone rang. She checked the caller ID and smiled when she saw the name.
