Back inside the house, Liu Longwei held Chen Lihua's hand. He peered into her eyes before asking with lingering worry in his eyes.
"Sweetheart, are you okay, do you need anything?."
"I'm fine. I don't need anything, but don't forget you promised to take me for shopping today." Chen Lihua reminded him in a smile.
"I know, i didn't forget. Do you want any other thing?." Liu Longwei inquired further.
"I have to go see the doctor now. If any idea comes to my mind, I will definitely let you know." Chen Lihua replied. She kissed his lips before walking away.
Liu Longwei stared at her back worriedly. His wife's behavior changed suddenly, and he was very worried that her condition has worsened instead of improving.
Chen Lihua went to the garden terrace and saw the doctor already sitting there. The doctor had a smile on her face as she stood up with her hand stretched out. Chen Lihua smiled and shook the doctor's hand as she introduced herself.
"I am Chen Lihua, a Cardiothoracic surgeon at SUH. I'm sorry for the act i displayed earlier, I don't have a thing for psychiatrist." Chen Lihua said in a smile as she took her seat.
Dr. Li sat down and replied in a smile, "It's alright, I can understand. So tell me, why don't you like psychiatrist like me, do you think we are not normal, or you have a special dislike for us?."
"No, it's not the way you see it. I encountered something terrible when i was younger that made me hate the psychiatrist hospital and the doctors. It's not something personal, but an encounter that put fear in me. So you can actually say that I'm scared of psychiatrists or the psychiatric hospitals rather than hating them." Chen Lihua explained.
"Ok, so can you tell me what you encountered, maybe we can start from there?." Dr. Li asked.
"I am sorry, but I am not ready to talk about it. Talking about it is like opening the old wounds that has already scarred." Chen Lihua rejected her.
"There is no problem. Are you afraid of me now?." Dr. Li asked in a smile as she picked up a glass of water to drink.
"I wouldn't be having this conversation with you if i was still scared of you." Chen Lihua replied.
Dr. Li dropped the glass of water on the table and stared at her, eyeball to eyeball.
"You are lying. You are still scared of me, but you are trying to contain the fear, you are trying to keep it hidden. Actually you are not comfortable, but you are pretending to be." Dr. Li revealed and stared directly into her eyes as if it was a challenge for her to prove her words wrong.
Chen Lihua shifted uncomfortably on her seat as the smile on her face faded when she heard the revelation.
With a serious look on her face, she raised her hand, and the servants at the side left.
Although Chen Lihua was backing the servants, she didn't not to say a word, a sign was all that was needed for them to understand her unspoken words.
After they servants footsteps became distant, Chen Lihua glanced at the doctor and asked, "I made sure to mask my appearance, but i was still unable to fool you. How did you know?."
"I studied psychology, and I was the best graduating student in my set. Not only that, I am very good at my job, which means i can read your mind, and your body language." Dr. Li replied.
Chen Lihua nodded as she added, "And you can also control me, which means you can make me crazy or even make me kill myself."
Dr. Li gave a low laugh before she went further to explain. "I can do what you said, but not to you in this condition. Actually you are strong willed, and so I can not harm you even if I was evil. It's only when you are so vulnerable and your mind is weak that someone can be able to control you. But right now, you just have a little unrest that can be fixed within two weeks. If you had a little more control on yourself, and I wasn't good at my job, I may not be able to tell your thoughts."
"Wow!." Chen Lihua exclaimed in admiration. "I am beginning to find an interest in psychology now. But too bad that I am too busy to give it much attention."
"Can you read my husband's mind?." Chen Lihua asked curiously.
"Mr Liu? No I can't." Dr. Li replied in a low chuckle.
"Why?." Chen Lihua inquired.
Was it that hard to read her husband's mind?.
"Your husband can only be seen through only if he permits it. Apart from that, it's basically useless thinking about it, talk more of getting the work done."
"Wow!." Chen Lihua replied, a little stunned. She knew Longwei was not an ordinary person, but she didn't know that he could be this extraordinary.
"Mrs. Liu, can you tell me exactly what happened on that day, the day of the assassination attempt?." Dr. Liu asked suddenly.
Chen Lihua had a serious expression on her face as she recounted what happened that day. She went ahead to answer the doctor's questions without fidgeting. She talked as if she was telling a story.
Right now, she wasn't pretending to be alright. She only talked this way because she was comfortable. And that is to show you that Dr. Li did a good job in making her mind stable by engaging her in a conversation.
"Your case is not difficult to handle, so you don't have to worry. Two weeks if we give it our best, you will be better already." Dr Li assured her.
"Thank you Doctor." Chen Lihua said gratefully.
"No troubles. Alright lets's begin." Dr. Li said and began her therapy.
She explained some things about trauma to her, before going ahead to talk about her treatment plans.
