It's a bright new day today, and Aunt Lin is not in a good mood. She is looking depressed, but what could be her problem?.
"Mum you can't leave the house in this state, maybe you should visit your brother some other time." Changying said worriedly.
"No, I must see him today, and besides I'm fine." Aunt Lin insisted while wrapping a scarf around her neck.
"Mum, you said you have a headache, and you've not been in good health for a few days now, just rest for today. Maybe some other time, when your health is alright, you can go and see him." Changying suggested in a worried voice.
She can tell that her mother's health wasn't like the good old days. Something was definitely wrong somewhere, but what could it be?.
Her mother doesn't tell her anything, nor has she seen a doctor's report of some sort.
That reminds her, she might have to make a trip to go and see her cousin, and maybe she could be of help.
Aunt Lin picked her bag from the bed and turned to leave her bedroom while saying, "Your cousin was nearly abducted few days ago, so i have to go and see my brother to find out what happened. I don't even know why they are just letting me know about it now."
Changying followed after her. "Mum, Lihua was the one abducted, so if you want to make a visit, you should go to see Lihua and not your brother."
"You know Lihua and I are not in good terms, so I can't go to see her." Aunt Lin reminded her daughter.
"Mum since when did you start to care about what kind of relationship you two have, you have always done things your own way without a care, so why the sudden show of concern?." Changying asked her mother.
"I've been having a lot of disagreements with Lihua almost her entire life. Right now, I don't have so much energy and time left for that." Aunt Lin replied
"I bet you still have a lot of time to look for trouble." Changying retorted.
"Enough of that! I don't have time to exchange words with you." Aunt Lin said in a heavy tone as her steps came to a halt, as she was starting to get annoyed with the argument.
"I'm leaving now. Don't be late for the meeting with the new investor." Aunt Lin reminded before walking away.
Immediately Aunt Lin left the house, her daughter, Changying made a phone call to her father.
She told him about her mother leaving the house despite not in good health, then she asked him to pick her up since she drove herself to the Chen Villa.
An hour later, Aunt Lin was sitting on the couch in her brother's house.
"Lin what are you doing here, your daughter said your health has not been at it's best these days, is that true?." Chen K asked his sister who looked worn out.
"Don't mind Changying, I'm fine. Let's talk about you, how is Lihua, what happened that day?." Aunt Lin asked, immediately diverting the topic to the reason she came.
Chen K went ahead to explain what happened and the investigations. And during this time, Lady Chen came into the sitting room, dressed in work suit. She looked like she just came back from a business meeting.
She exchanged greeting with her sister-in-law before sitting beside her husband.
During the time of the discussion, she also chipped in some words.
Aunt Lin asked about Chen Lihua's health and how she was faring after the incident. The she asked about the investigations, and that when she heard a shocking news.
"Are you sure he is the one behind all of these?." Aunt Lin asked in shock.
"Yes, he is the one. All the investigations and evidences points at him." Chen K confirmed in a disappointed voice and look.
"How could he be so evil, he was your best friend, and you two were so close right from high school?." Aunt Lin exclaimed in shock.
"I still can't fathom why he did all these. I never did anything to betray him, I didn't offend him either." Chen K said tiredly.
"Even if you did something wrong, is that supposed to warrant him to do all these evil to you, once was not enough, so he tried again?." Lady Chen asked angrily.
"What bout him? Where is he, is he in the police custody now?." Aunt Lin inquired.
"Not yet." Chen K replied weakly.
"Then what are you waiting for since you already have enough evidences to give him a death sentence? Do you want him to get rid of the whole family before you come back to your senses?." Aunt Lin asked in anger.
Her brother already had enough evidences for a death sentence, so what was he waiting for? Did he want their whole lives to be put in jeopardy, and by then it would have been too late to do anything about it?.
"That was the same question I asked him." Lady Chen added angrily.
She too was not pleased with her husband. Her husband was refusing to take the bull by the horns, and it was really getting to her nerves.
"This is someone that harmed you five years ago because he wanted you dead, and now he came for your daughter and you are sitting with your arms folded, not planning to do anything even after all the evidences were pointing towards him?." Lady Chen said, giving her husband an angry stare.
"Brother what is wrong with you exactly, have you been bewitched?." Aunt Lin asked in a serious tone, not finding the situation funny.
Chen K sighed before finally speaking up. "I'm disappointed that my best friend has been planning my downfall for years, and yet i still helped him in his times of troubles. I am truly hurt by all these events. It's not like i don't want to serve justice, but it's that I don't know how to do it, I am in a deep state of confusion."
"Then you have to wake up!." Aunt Lin cut him off sharply.
"Dear husband, since you don't want to make the decision because he is your friend, then I will do it for you." Lady Chen said in a final statement before getting up to leave.
So this particular matter came to an end after Lady Chen made the decision. Lady Chen exposed the person behind Chen K's disappearance for five years, and also her daughter nearly being adopted.
Although she didn't reveal this particular news to the masses, but she gave evidences of his crimes of drug trafficking to the court and also evidences of money laundering. That was the only news that was exposed to the eyes of the public.
As for the crime concerning her family, Lady Chen didn't expose that to the media, only to the court.
Chen Lihua finally got to know about the identity of the fourth largest shareholder of the Chen Group, and her father's best friend from her mother.
He was Mr. Gu, the person her mother mentioned on her wedding day that was supposed to walk her down the aisle.
