"Aunt what do you mean!." Chen Lihua said in an alarmed tone.
"Are trying to say that we, your family are not worth you spending money so you can see us for a few more years? Are we so insignificant in your heart?. What about Changming, she is not married yet. Don't you want to see her get married and have her own children?."
Aunt Lin was quiet as she lowered her head. Then Chen Lihua sighed before continuing in a soft tone.
"Aunt I feel like you've changed a lot. This is not the Aunt I know. You allowed your problems to overwhelm you, which is not supposed to be so. You are now acting like you don't care about anything and anybody again. Aunt Lin, you have people that love you, so why don't you do everything you can to live a little longer and see more smiles on their faces?."
"Changming has someone she is dating, but they are in different cities, and Changming is so busy these days that she doesn't have the time to meet with her boyfriend, which is unfair to both of them." Chen Lihua revealed.
There was silence in the room for almost a minute, each of the women, in their own thoughts. Aunt Lin was in deep thought with her head down, while Chen Lihua had her eyes on her Aunt, also having her own thoughts.
Aunt Lin suddenly stood to her feet with her bag in hand. she shifted away from the chair and turned to walk towards the door in silence.
Chen Lihua was surprised as she watched her actions. She became disheartened and almost gave up. But she decided to give it a try for the second time, so she called out to her in an urgent voice, "Aunt!."
"I will go to Houston for the treatment, ask your husband to book the earliest appointment after New Year." Aunt Lin said immediately before leaving the office, and gently shut the door behind her.
Chen Lihua was so shocked that she wasn't even sure that she heard clearly as she stared at the closed door in wide eye.
"Aunt!." Chen Lihua called out as she rushed out of her office in search of her Aunt, but she didn't see her shadow even after looking to her right and left.
Chen Lihua went back to her office and sat on her chair in a smile as she pondered on her Aunt's reply. Even though she didn't see her Aunt, she was still very happy for getting a positive reply from her after much effort.
Chen Lihua picked up her phone to call Liu Longwei. And immediately the call connected, she shared the good news with him. Thereafter, she called her Cousin Changming to share the good news with her.
Lastly, she called her mother and spoke about her Aunt's condition and the conclusion of the matter. They spoke for nothing less than an hour. Towards the end of the conversation, she reminded her mother not to inform her grandparents of the news, which Lady Chen agreed to.
Lady Chen was also in shock after receiving the news, so shared it with her husband when she arrived home from the office.
These days, she has more work on her plate, and her husband was the less busy one since she was still in charge.
After conversing with her husband, they decided not to bother Aunt Lin with calls, but agreed to visit her the next day, so they can know her well being and understand her situation well enough.
Chen K called his two brothers and informed them of their sister's health condition. He also warned them not to spread the news to the outside world, as it was something that should remain within the family. He also reminded them to keep the news from their aged parents.
This night, The Chen family had trouble sleeping, as they all had something to be worried about.
Changming was so happy that her mother agreed to go for treatment after much persuasion.
When she came home from work, her parents were sitting at the dining table and conversing amicably. She rushed to the dining room and enveloped her mother in a tight hug.
"Mum thank you for agreeing to the treatment." She said with joy in her voice.
"Take it easy, don't strangle your mother." Chen K said from the side with a worried look on his face.
"It's okay." Aunt Lin said in a smile.
Changming released her mother from the hug and pulled a chair to sit close to her. "Mum, I can't describe how happy I am with this good news. Thank you so much."
"It's fine." Aunt Lin replied as tears threatened to drop from her eyes.
'Looks like I made a good choice in agreeing to go for the treatment.' Aunt Lin thought.
Seeing her mother's teary eyes, Changming kept a straight face as she threatened, "Mum if you cry, I will join you. And I will not stop crying till the next morning."
Aunt Lin hurriedly wiped her eyes. "I will not cry, so don't cry."
While others were worrying about different matters, Chen Lihua was a bit relaxed tonight after settling her Aunt's case. She talked the matter about her Aunt's treatment with Liu Longwei over a cup of hot chocolate tea.
"Let's take a two weeks break." Liu Longwei said suddenly as he watched the snow fall.
"Why did you say that all of a sudden." Chen Lihua asked with a surprised smile on her face.
"It didn't just come out. I've been planning for it with a any little time I get. And now, I'm done with the plans." Liu Longwei replied as he stared at her in a smile.
"Oh! You decided to tell me about it after planning everything?." Chen Lihua asked in a surprised smile.
"Yes. I will help you take a two weeks leave from the hospital, and the rest of this month." Liu Longwei announced as he sipped a mouthful of hot chocolate tea.
"I'm fine with the two weeks leave, but don't go beyond that. I don't want to jeopardize with my work or bring about gossip simply because I have connections."
