Chapter 472 - Watching over his sleeping wife with the child in his arms

The matter concluded that Liu Dongmei would think about everything she said.

Back in the delivery room, Chen Lihua was already fast asleep, leaving the child in Liu Longwei's arms.

She was so tired that even the knock on the door didn't wake her up.

"Is she asleep?." The doctor asked as she came in with the nurses and Chen Lihua's two mothers.

"Yes. She was so tired that she b.r.e.a.s.tfed the baby with closed eyelids." Liu Longwei said with a smile on his face.

It was so rare to see that particular smile on his face. It was a smile that revealed the joy of him being a father.

"She must have been so tired from going through all that stress." Madam Liu said with a smile on her face as she glanced at the sleeping baby in Liu Longwei's arms.

"But I must say, that Lihua's labor didn't last long. She has birthed in less than 24-hours after she started having mild contractions." Lady Chen said with a smile on her face as she glanced at the fast asleep Chen Lihua,  before glancing at her grandson.

"I must say, your daughter is a strong woman! She gave it her all even when things were difficult for her, to the point that she was losing her breath." The doctor said to the two mothers.

"What?!." Lady Chen and Madam Liu both exclaimed in shock.

"Yes, but everything went on well, she didn't give up." The doctor said to them with an encouraging smile.

"I didn't know my daughter was this strong, because she has always been afraid of pain. And she looked scared towards the end of her delivery date." Lady Chen said.

"How can you think like that? You are a strong woman, so anything that comes out of you should be strong, so don't underestimate Lihua. And besides, a mother can go to any length for her child." Madam Liu said to her.

"Alright, let's come back later to check on her, so we don't disturb their sleep." Lady Chen said, referring to Chen Lihua and the newborn child.

Liu Longwei watched as the two mothers left, before looking back at the baby sleeping quietly in his arms.

"Mr. Liu, you know you can lay the baby down in his cot, right?." The doctor smiled as she smiled kindly.

"I know. I just want to hold him for a little while longer." Liu Longwei said in a low voice as he walked around the room.

"Alright." The doctor said and went to sit on the chair arranged for her.

"Doctor, have you and the nurses had something to eat yet?." Liu Longwei asked.

"Yes, we just had dinner, thank you!." The doctor said and returned to her work.

The nurses wanted to thank him, but he stopped them with a wave of his hand. He just knew they were going to thank him in unison, and their voices may wake the child or Chen Lihua.

"Mr. Liu, I would suggest not to carry your child in your arms when he is asleep as he grows. If you continue with this, the baby will not be able to sleep comfortably if he is not in someone's arms. Now, you might see anything wrong with pampering him, but as he grows, you might not find the situation funny." The doctor advised in a soft tone.

"Thank you, doctor!." Liu Longwei said with a smile ????.

The doctor looked away with a smirk on her face. Just now she doesn't even know if what she said to him, sank into his heart.

But from his actions, she didn't think that he would listen to her.

Well, she has already given him advice for future use, so, it was now left for him to take it or not.

"Doctor, won't he get a cold since he's not wearing any clothes?." Liu Longwei asked in a worried tone.

After the child was cleaned up, he was only wrapped with a cotton shawl.

"No, it's okay." 

"When will they get to have a bath?." Liu Longwei asked, referring to his wife and child.

"Normally, the baby gets to have his first bath, the day he's leaving the hospital. So now, the baby will have a bath tomorrow. As for your wife, she can't move a lot, because she's still in pain, so I will clean her body after she's had her dinner, then tomorrow morning, She can have a bath. But if she insists on a bath this night, then there's no problem, because it will help her a lot more than cleaning." The doctor said.

"Okay." Liu Longwei replied.

"You can take a sit with the baby in your arms, you know?." The doctor reminded him.

Liu Longwei walked back to his seat and sat with the baby in his arms. Then, he glanced at his sleeping wife and smiled more.

When Liu Dongmei came to call him to eat, he refused, saying that he wasn't hungry.

Liu Dongmei laughed at him as she took a picture of him holding the baby in his arms as he watched over mother and son, before going to show it off to the others.

"Did you call Longwei to come and eat?." "Ju Ju, cover the food. He said he's not hungry, but I'm going to persuade him." Madam Liu said to her.

"Why?." Lady Chen asked.

"He is carrying his sleeping child in his arms, and also watching over his sleeping wife. The amazing thing is that the baby's cot was there, and the doctor and nurses are there as well, so what is he worried about?!.

"Let him be. He is bound to be very happy, and also worried, so he wouldn't want to leave their sight. Allow him to spend more time with them." Lady Chen said to her with a pleasant smile on her face.
