Chapter 499 - Looking After His Son

Finally, when they got to Liu Longwei's office using his private elevator, Asst. Duyi sighed in relief as he wiped off the imaginary sweat.

According to Chen Lihua's instructions, the child's identity must be kept hidden, and his face can not be seen by anyone.

As simple as this task was, it wasn't easy accomplishing them, but thanks to the bodyguards, whose scary look scared of the inquisitive employees who tried to take a peek at the little guy who was busy talking to himself.

The cute sounds from his lips attracted bees like honey.

Now with the child playing by himself, and the bodyguards standing at a safe distance from and the child, Asst. Duyi was left in a dilemma, for he didn't know if he should report the situation to his Boss, personally, or if he should accompany the child till the meeting ends.

'Will Boss kick me out of the company for leaving his son alone in the office?.' He thought to himself.

He completely lost hope with the iron-faced-looking bodyguards who didn't have even a smile on their faces.

If he asked them to watch over the little guy, their not friendly face might end up scaring the child.

Thinking over the situation once again, he picked up his phone and dialed Liu Longwei's number, with doubt in his heart, if he would be sacked for interrupting the important meeting.

Liu Longwei who was currently listening to one of the manager's talks glanced at his phone, whose screen light, just turned on.

Seeing the caller ID, he answered the call while signaling the male manager to continue.

Immediately the call was answered, Asst. Duyi didn't wait for Liu Longwei to speak, so he quickly delivered the information.

"Sir, there is a bit of a situation in your office." He reported.

With furrowed brows, Liu Longwei asked, "What kind of situation is that?."

Asst. Duyi glanced at the child from quite a distance (he moved quite some distance from the cueing baby, so his voice wouldn't be a distraction) before speaking up in a low tone.

"Boss, your son is in the office, Madam dropped him off and left immediately, but she said she would be back soon."

"That little guy is in my office?." Liu Longwei asked in surprise, and then, there was silence in the conference room as all eyes were on him.

The surprised look on his face, his tone, and his words attracted that attention. But a warning glare towards them, caused the meeting to continue.

"Yes, Boss!." Asst. Duyi replied.

"Is he crying?." Liu Longwei asked in a worried tone, because he knew his little guy like his mother so much, and must be missing her.

No, Boss, he's playing by himself." Asst. Duyi replied after glaring towards the child that had his fist in his mouth.

"No need to come back, watch over him." Liu Longwei instructed in a serious tone before terminating the call.

'So this is Boss's son?.' Asst. Duyi thought in wonder, as he approached the child. 

He knelt in front of him and gazed into the little guy's eyes. The little guy gazed back at him and smiled. Next, he stretched his tender arm towards him as he continued talking in an unknown language.

Asst. Duyi was at a loss on what to do, so he asked the child carefully, "Do you want me to lift you?."

Instead of receiving a reply, he received another gesture from the little guy that he couldn't understand.

The little guy took back his arm and put his fist back into his mouth, as he continued to talk to himself.

Seeing the saliva coming out from his mouth, Asst. Duyi suddenly developed a headache. 

'How on earth am    I supposed to take care of a child?.' Asst. Duyi thought to himself.

To him, this was the hardest job or task, ever given to him by his Boss.

He has never looked after a child before. And this was not just any child, but the heir of the Liu Family. And just now, there was a warning in his Boss's tone when he asked him to look after his son.

Right now, he was feeling like he would be in big trouble, even if he doesn't do anything wrong.

He had the rocked-faced bodyguards watching over him. His Boss would skin him alive, and then his Boss's wife would annihilate his entire family.

The thought of all these, caused fear to arouse in his heart and mind.

Liu Longwei put his phone back on the table and glanced at his wristwatch before looking back at the person still presenting, who was actually the marketing manager.

"Hold it there! You said something about... Why would you allow that to happen, what were your reasons?." Liu Longwei asked in a stern tone.

The Marketing Manager was surprised that Liu Longwei heard that part clearly, even though he was on a call at that time.

"You have two minutes to give me valuable reasons why you will not go home with a sack later today." Liu Longwei said in a serious tone.

At the end of the day, the Marketing Manager managed to save himself, and his job. But his salary for the month was cut in half. At least, he still had a huge chance.

The meeting lasted for ten more minutes before it came to an end.

Walking into his office, Liu Longwei was greeted by the presence of the bodyguards who bowed to him in greeting.

Now, his sight led him to his PA, who was currently keeping the little guy, company. And he could see that tired look on his face.

"If you can't even look after a child, you're not fit to work here." Liu Longwei said as he approached them.

Asst. Duyi felt cold sweat run down his back. He immediately stood up and bowed to Liu Longwei, not daring to say anything.

"You may leave. And make sure nobody comes into my office unless it is an emergency that you can not handle." Liu Longwei instructed and sent him off.

"Yes, Boss." Asst. Duyi replied and walked away hurriedly.

The little guy in his stroller glanced at his father and started to kick his arms and legs in excitement. The little guy was really excited to see his father.

Liu Longwei smiled at him before reaching out with his hand to pinch his cheeks gently. Taking his hand back, the little guy started to cry as he continued to kick his hands and feet about.

"Ssshhh!!." Liu Longwei shushed him with a finger on his lips. But who knew that it wouldn't work?.

The little guy stopped crying for two seconds before he continued.

Liu Longwei was surprised, so he queried him. "This works when your mother does it, but why is mine different? You don't just want to listen to me, do you?."

The little guy's voice got louder as he kicked his feet and legs about, and Liu Longwei knew why he was acting that way, he wanted to be in his arms, so he relented and lifted him in his arms.

Next, he rubbed his back in a soothing motion.

"Where did my wife go to, and how come nobody followed her?." Liu Longwei asked the bodyguards.
