Chapter 568 THE LAST STEP
Whatever Aaron had planted on the alpha, one of Chaos's shattered souls, seemed working perfectly the way he wanted it.
Because right now, not only Chaos lost his consciousness, but his realm also collapsed, which left him in dire situation, while the rest of the shattered soul felt the agony that he was in right now.
Zuri couldn't figure out what was going on with Chaos, neither she had any idea about how fixed the situation. She was clueless and helpless, especially now when she couldn't contact neither Gael nor Knox.
"There is something I want to talk with you about the witch." Darius approached Zuri when it was only the two of them, he knew that she was looking for the witch, but he didn't feel it was the right choice, since he had been paying close attention to the twelve witches, especially Ciara.
"What is it?" Zuri asked, she was impatient.
Meanwhile, White curled on the rug beneath the bed, as if she was on guard, her ears perked up, listening to Zuri and Darius conversation.
"I don't think Ciara is a good choice for you to ask about Chaos," Darius said, he glanced at the man on the bed.
"Why?" Zuri knitted her brows. She knew that the witch was not reliable and if it was not for the mutual benefit between them, the witch would have turned their back against them right now.
However, hearing what Darius said, she became alerted. There must be something that she was not aware of.
"The witch is a little bit shaddy," Darius replied, but Zuri said nothing, it was only her eyes that probed him to explain further about what he meant by that.
She couldn't simply believe him just because he said Ciara was shaddy, of course, she knew that those witches were shaddy. If it was not for the protection for the people that lived around the McKeltar manor, they wouldn't have accepted those twelve witches in the first place. n-(0velb1n
"I saw him with Aaron," Darius said. He knew who Aaron was and the deep enmity between them, thus for the witches to have a connection with the devil, it was something that couldn't be tolerated.
Zuri's eyes widened in shock. "Tell me more about it," she said sternly.
Damn it. She had asked Nathen to call her!
If Ciara was indeed with Aaron, it meant, she had let the devil knew where they were right now. This was not good.
"Try to contact Knox or Gael, tell them that I am here with Chaos," Zuri said, as she turned around and dismissed the man.
Darius then left the room, while Zuri walked toward Chaos's bed and sat there, she held his hand and looked at his pale face.
"What will we become?" Zuri asked in soft voice.
The world was in chaos right now with the dragon ran rampant like years ago, but there was another thing that still waited for them.
Currently, Aaron was with Ciara, both of them stood in front of a dead tree, in the middle of the meadow.
"Ck!" Aaron clicked his tongue. "Chaos is really heartless, how could he kill this tree?"
This tree had a long story, ever since Chaos was in this realm, this tree also held so many story and was the witness when the white wolf was killed by the villagers, but right now the tree had died. Chaos killed it without any scruples.
Beside the devil, Ciara snickered. "Heartless? Don't make me laugh, such word can come out of your mouth? It is very ridiculous to hear."
Aaron ignored her sarcastic comment, his eyes fixed on the hole in the middle of the tree trunk, the place, where his cocoon of his black butterfly should be, but it was empty now, all of the cocoon had been burned to ashes.
"Now, can you do it?" Aaron asked. He wanted to revive the tree because this was part of his plan, but thanked to Chaos's cruelty to kill it, he had to take an extra effort to get enough strength to revive it.
"Let's see," Ciara said, as she flicked her hair and not long after that, another eleven witches appeared out of the blue, as they circled around the tree.
Today was a bright day with breeze ruffled their hair, but when the twelve witches started citing their spell, the sky turned gloomy, as if storm would come and the wind became harsh. Along with thunder, they could see lightening in the dark sky.
The change was so drastic, as if a moment ago the sky was so clear and there was no sign of storm whatsoever, but a moment later, everything went one hundred eight.
How could one explain such phenomenon?
On the other hand, Aaron seemed delighted by what would happen next.
This was only the second steps after he forced the collapse of Chaos realm, if he succeeded, there was only the last step.
Gradually, the withered tree started to gain its vitality again, as its bark looked less dry than before and the more changes they could see, the wider Aaron's smile was.
"Finally..." he sighed in delight. "Long time no see, my old friend."
Aaron put his hand on the hole of the tree trunk and thousand of black butterflies burst out of there. The sight of it was so mysterious and creepy.
It was time...
He finally could see the fruition of his long plan. There was only one more thing that he had to prepare.
And at the same time, in the McKeltar manor, Nathen couldn't find Ciara, neither the twelve witches, but Darius managed to get through to someone.
"I can't contact Knox, but July wants to speak with you," Nathen said, as he gave the phone to Zuri.
"July?" Zuri called her name with a frown. "Are you with Knox?" she asked a little bit impatiently.
