CH 108

I entered the classroom, and had just finished my morning greeting with everyone when the teachers walked in. Tigre-sensei looked impatient, and Verna-sensei looked puffed up and angry.

“……”

“G-Good morning, everyone. We’ve got class in the morning and practice in the afternoon.”

“Ah, yes.”

…… The devilishly strong Tigre-sensei was being intimidated by Verna-sensei.

“W-What’s wrong, Verna-sensei?”

“I’m scared ……”

Makina and Helena, seated in front of me, were sweating as they said this, while Verna-sensei looked at Tigre as she answered.

“It seems like you fought seriously against Lars-kun and Ryuuze-kun? And Lars-kun’ left arm didn’t heal completely, did it?”

She seemed to be angry at him for beating me up, and was mainly angry about this injury.

“N-No, it’s not Tigre-sensei’s fault because I asked him to take it seriously! Right, Ryuuze!”

“Y-Yeah …… That’s right, Verna-sensei. I’m a little hurt too, but it’s practice, so it can’t be helped, right?”

“Yeah ……? But I think Tigre needs to think it through, because this guy is strong as hell.”

“Uh …… M-My bad……”

We hurriedly explained to Verna-sensei that I wanted to fight him, and although she was tense, we managed to clear up the misunderstanding and she returned to her normal self. 

Needless to say, Tigre-sensei was more than happy to hug me.

After such a tense morning, the morning class was over and it was time for lunch break. As I was stretching, Luciel and Kudelica called out to me as they sat close to each other.

“L-Lars-kun, what are you going to do today? You can’t practice fighting, after all ……”

“Yes. I have to compete in combat events just like my brother and princess-carrying, but I’m not sure I can do either with my arms.”

“It’s better not to push yourself.”

“I’ll think about it while we’re eating lunch …… H-Huh!”

“What’s wrong? …… Oh!?”

I opened my bag to take out my lunch, and there it was.

“Sarge! When did you get into my bag!”

“You finally found me, your ass. Oh, you ate my lunch!?”

The bag contained Sarge, who was sleeping peacefully.

It’s certainly big enough to fit on your head, and since my bag doesn’t have textbooks in it, it’s certainly not impossible to fit in. And since my textbooks are in my desk, I don’t check my bag ……

“It’s not free time ……”

“Oh, Sarge, you don’t want to annoy your friends, do you?”

“You can’t do that.”

I am weakening as Sarge yawns on the desk, and Jack and Nora are chastising him. You can see Sarge’s impatience as he scurries around looking at the faces.

I can’t blame him for coming, but I’ll have to get permission from Tigre-sensei. Well, be that as it may–

“So I’ll have to go with no lunch ……”

Sarge bowed his head. It was kind of cute, so I let out a sigh, put my hand on my head, and opened my mouth. 

“Fuh, it’s fine already. But I think I need to tell the headmaster and ask him to allow Sarge to come, or maybe I should think about leaving you with Mizuki-san or Hauzen-san at the guild? If you’re in a guild, you won’t get bored if you’re taking requests with someone.”

Then my brother and Luciela, who came to my class for lunch, said in a dumbfounded tone 

“Hmm, your demands are small for such a bold infiltration, Sarge.”

“I’m sure he’s good, as long he’s in the same space as everyone else. I think I kind of understand him”

Yogus, Urka, and Helena also gathered for a lively lunch. Ryuuze and Makina are still eating bread, and have entered a bread-eating contest.

Sarge sits on Nora’s lap as the lunches start to be placed on the desk. Then Kudelica called out to me.

“Do you want one of my rice balls? I’m sure it’s not as good as the food they serve at the lord’s mansion ……”

“What? It’s okay! No, no, no, when I was born, we were like farmers, and I like it that way. Thank you.”

“Ehehe, good. Here you go.”

“Then, I’ll give you a sausage.”

Luciel put a sausage on the lid of her lunch box with a smile, while my brother and Nora grabbed a side dish each.

“I think I’ll give you an egg roll.”

“Broccoli for me.”

“That’s what Nora doesn’t like it …… The director of the orphanage will be very angry, you know?”

“Ehehe.”

But she still didn’t seem to want to take it back, so she smiled to cover it up. Jack put down a piece of grilled fish, and Urka offered me a cherry tomato.

“…… Sorry, there’s nothing I can give you ……”

“Oh, no, it’s okay, Yogus! It’s a great lunch box now.”

There is no problem without it. It’s Sarge who did the damage.

“Well then, I’m good with my lunch now, but in the afternoon ……”

“…… Mgh …… You can’t do anything fancy with that arm. Does it hurt?”

“It hurts!? Can you not touch it!”

“Oh, I’m sorry, I accidentally ……”

“Sis, go back to class ……?”

“I’m sorry already, though!?’

Luciela poked me in the arm and a sharp pain shot through me. While I’m trying to relax from the scary look on Luciel’s face, Makina and Ryuuze come back.

“Oh! Sarge is here!”

“Mhm, you say …… Well, you probably got in using Lars-kun’s bag”

Makina makes a sharp comment as she takes a piece of bread out of a paper bag and brings it to her mouth. Helena, who was eating her meal in silence, says to me.

“Oh, then why don’t you help me? I want Lars to watch me because I’m going to be in a magic battle as well as dancing.”

I was surprised by Helena’s unusual invitation. She was the least involved in our class and I didn’t know what she did outside of the guild club. If she wants to practice her magic, she can come along, and I said yes right away.

“Sure, first thing in the afternoon?”

“Hmmm. Can we do the dance first?”

“Yes. I’ve never seen Helena’s [Dancing Master] before, so I might be interested.”

“Kyah♪ You’ll get stabbed for saying that someday, you know? Well, that’s how it is, so please take care of me, Makina and Kuu♪ Ah, Luciel-chan, too.”

“Come here for minute, Helena.”

“Yes!”

“What?”

After a while, Makina and Kuderica take them away, and Helena and the others disappear. Nora was tucking into her missing broccoli lunch.

“I wonder what’s going on? They can finish eating first and then talk, though?”

“Yeah. Thank you in advance.”

and Sarge were both saying carefree things.

Anyway, we decided to follow Helena today, and she was going to show us a dance that we had never seen before.
