Just when I thought the game was up, a dull green glow emanated from Sonia’s chest.

–My intuition tells me that this is not good, and I immediately reach out to grab the necklace on Sonia’s chest. Just then, a figure rolls into the room and covers Sonia as if to protect her.

” “Varnish!?” “

When our voices echo in the room, Varnish stares at me with Sonia underneath him and opens his mouth.

This guy …… doesn’t know that his father is not Zanbia? No, it’s Sonia now!

He swung his thick arm like a log and swung it down towards me. I’m about 176 centimeters tall, and this thing is almost three meters tall. Orcs are shorter monsters, so they have quite the size.

The orc is glaring at us and intimidating us. The only difference between him and the ogre we fought before is their appearance, so I think that’s a good way to end it.

“Hmm, then I’ll make it easy for him with a single blow, just pierce it with the Lightning Stab.”

“No, that would be–“

Just as I was about to stop Fath-san from killing him, Sonia slumped to the floor and began to scream in agony.

“Please don’t kill him! He’s definitely my child! I know he’s an idiot, but …… p-please ……”

“You’re the idiot, begging for your life after the way you treated Lux and Naja! …… But Varnish doesn’t seem to know anything.”

As soon as the conversation between Fath-san and Makina was over, I took my sword in both hands and stepped out into the orc. There’s one thing that’s bothering me, so I’m cutting to the chase. 

“Why is Varnish’s face is showing? I’ll have to see to find out! .”

“Guoooooooh!”

As soon as I dove into its chest, the orc’s elbow fell on my head. I thought it wouldn’t be so easy to get around, but for some reason, I guess it’s not smarter than the main body?

“Guooooooooh!?”

As soon as the elbow made contact with the auto protection, one of the magic circles shattered with a crisp sound.

“Auto protection broke!? But I’m prepared to take each other out with you! Ha!”

I was able to slice through the skin and fat underneath Varnish’s face with my sword, slicing cleanly through his lower abdomen and groin.

“Ah, gyaaaaaaaaah!?”

The orc screamed, as if in pain. As the blood dripped down, the cut marks convinced me.

“It looks like it was just taken him by some element …… If we can get him out, we might be able to save him.”

“However, his regeneration is fast, do you have a plan, Lars?”

As Fath-san said, the wound is closing up with an unpleasant gurgling sound. The only way to get him out is to dismantle it, but that will be difficult if it regenerates at this speed.

However, I knew from the previous attack how much I needed to thrust the sword in to keep it from damaging Varnish. The only thing left to do is to rescue him through trial and error.

“Guoooooooooh!”

“!”

“Gubu!?”

I shoot the orc in the face with a fireball to make him pull back, and then I go back to the Makina and the others to tell them while preparing.

“Makina, Fath-san, Sephiro, I have an idea. Listen to me.”

“Is my turn not ready yet-!”

“Shut up, Basleigh-sensei! Wait, when did you get here!?”

“A little while, while Lars-kun was fighting. And?”
