Du Wanrou couldn't help but laugh when she heard his words, "Why don't you say it was a perfect score of 750 then."

Qin Hao knew she didn't believe him because he hardly believed it himself, but he had checked twice and the score was still the same.

Scoring 710 was something he had never dared to dream of before.

Suddenly, Du Wanrou asked, "Do you know Xia Qing?"

Qin Hao's expression changed slightly, "Yes, some students from the third middle school were bullying her a few days ago, and I helped her out."

Du Wanrou looked at him with a smiling face, "Isn't this the legendary hero saving the beauty? According to the plot, shouldn't the beauty offer herself to the hero in return?"

For some reason, Qin Hao felt a chill when he saw the smile on her face, "We're just ordinary friends."

Du Wanrou: "Ordinary friends? There are quite a few people in school who have seen you two going to and from school together, others might think you're a couple."

By then, if Qin Hao still couldn't hear the implication, he was really foolish.

Du Wanrou had obviously seen him with Xia Qing going to and leaving school; she was jealous.

Qin Hao felt a thrill in his heart. Could this mean that Du Wanrou also had feelings for me? Was she gradually accepting me?

Thinking this, he became excited and hurriedly explained, "Class leader, don't misunderstand, we live in the same neighborhood, and we just happen to go the same way to and from school."

Du Wanrou was not very satisfied with his explanation and responded with a soft "Oh" while looking at the study materials.

Qin Hao didn't know if she was angry or not, he softly asked, "Class leader, do the things you said before still count?"

Du Wanrou looked at him curiously, "What things?"

Qin Hao chuckled, "About us, if I get into Jianghai University."

"Let's talk about it when you get admitted," Du Wanrou replied unenthusiastically.

...

From a not too distant part of the classroom, Chen Shuna was quietly watching Qin Hao and Du Wanrou talk softly.

Among these people, many he didn't recognize, though a few seemed familiar, probably those whom Xu Liang had called upon initially.

Qin Hao nodded politely. As he reached the school gate, he didn't see Xia Qing.

Usually, Xia Qing would come out earlier than him and would wait at the school gate to walk home with him.

Qin Hao paused at the school gate, planning to wait a bit for her.

"Waiting for Xia Qing, Hao? I just saw her still in the classroom, she should be coming down now," Lv Guibo and a few others came out of the school and greeted him eagerly.

Qin Hao nodded slightly, "Thanks a lot."

Lv Guibo was flattered. Not many at Changle Second Middle School knew of Qin Hao's true identity, but he was one of those who did.

"No need to be polite, Hao. Take your time waiting; we'll be heading off first."

Not long after Lv Guibo left, a girl's voice rang out, "Qin Hao."

Qin Hao turned to look as several girls walked out of the school, their attire and makeup very stylish, not at all like typical students, yet still possessing a distinctive charm.

Of these girls, he only recognized Liu Fang, the leader; he didn't know the others.

With a smile on her face, Liu Fang approached Qin Hao while a wave of perfume hit him.

She spoke, "Are you free tonight? Let's have a drink, especially since tomorrow is the weekend."

The other girls beside her looked at Qin Hao curiously, their eyes filled with shyness, hope, and admiration.

These girls had significant connections at Second Middle and had heard about Qin Hao's reputation.

"Hao of Yonghe Street" was not only known at Changle Second Middle but also at Third Middle and among various bar owners, making him a top-notch figure in their eyes.

Spending an evening with such a key figure was something to boast about indeed.

Unaware of their thoughts, Qin Hao smiled and shook his head, "Not tonight, I need to keep studying for the upcoming unified exam. When I'm free, I'll treat you all to a meal."

The girls showed disappointment, but Liu Fang quickly smiled and said, "Sure, we'll remember your words. A man's word, once given, must be kept."
