Qin Hao was driving, pressing the clutch and shifting gears, as the van swiftly and smoothly reversed out of the courtyard.
Kang Youyi had a look of surprise on his face; the skilled handling didn't seem like that of someone who had just started driving.
"Hao, do you drive often?"
Qin Hao shook his head, "Occasionally, I drive my dad's car."
He actually had never even touched a car before, but he absolutely couldn't let anyone know about the system.
Qin Hao drove straight towards the Jiangshan City wholesale medicinal herb market, planning to stop first at the Hundred Medicine Pavilion to purchase some herbs.
There were no traffic police checks along the way, and he smoothly reached the outside of the Hundred Medicine Pavilion.
He and the chubby guy walked inside the herb shop where Liang Ya was sitting at the counter. Seeing someone enter, she got up.
Seeing Qin Hao, she paused for a moment and then smilingly said, "Mr. Qin, welcome."
Seeing that she was a beautiful woman, the chubby guy chuckled, "Hello, beautiful."
Liang Ya glanced at the chubby guy, and though he had a cheeky grin, there was no lecherous look in his eyes, so she nodded slightly.
Qin Hao, somewhat speechless at the chubby guy's behavior but in Liang Ya's presence, did not scold him and instead asked, "Mr. Liang isn't here?"
Liang Ya curiously asked, "My dad went to the mountains to collect herbs. Mr. Qin, were you looking for my dad?"
Qin Hao replied, "I'm here to buy herbs. I'll take ten jin of each listed here." He then handed Liang Ya a piece of paper.
"Alright, Mr. Qin, please have a seat and wait for a moment," she said and then got busy.
Kang Youyi sat beside Qin Hao, but his eyes were fixed on Liang Ya.
Liang Ya appeared to be around twenty-four or twenty-five years old, above average in looks, with a well-proportioned figure, truly a standard beauty.
"Enough of that; haven't you seen a beautiful woman before?" Qin Hao finally couldn't help but comment.
Kang Youyi sheepishly scratched his head, "Hao, do you know this lady?"
Qin Hao rolled his eyes at him, "Met her once. With your physique, do you think any woman would take a second look at you?"
Kang Youyi felt dejected, "Hao, could you not be so blunt?"
About twenty minutes later, Liang Ya had packed up all the herbs. Eighty-one types of herbs, totaling over eight hundred jin.
Qin Hao stood up and asked, "Miss Liang, how much for all of these?"
Qin Hao asked, "How much are the ducks?"
Curious, the middle-aged man asked, "Young man, how many do you plan to buy? If the quantity is large, I can give you a discount."
"Are your ducks genuine?"
The middle-aged man quickly replied, "You can rest assured, young man. You can inspect the goods directly when the time comes. They are definitely authentic farm-raised meat ducks."
Qin Hao nodded slightly. He had specifically looked up the difference between fast-growing ducks and normal ducks on the internet a couple of days ago. He could tell at a glance, and he assumed the middle-aged man wouldn't deceive him about this.
"Tell me the price. I initially plan to buy a hundred ducks. If the price is right, I'll continue to order from you."
The middle-aged man's eyes widened. A hundred ducks was no small number—if this deal went through, he could make a tidy profit.
Thinking this, his smile grew even wider, and his tone changed, "May I know your esteemed surname? I'm Du Xing."
"I'm Qin Hao."
Mr. Du became serious and said, "Qin, you want a substantial number of ducks. For a hundred ducks, I can give you a price of seventeen yuan per pound. This price is absolutely fair, and the ducks are definitely of guaranteed quality."
Upon hearing this, Qin Hao turned and walked away. The last time he bought a duck, the price was only eighteen yuan per pound, and Du Xing was offering him just one yuan less.
Seeing him walk away, Du Xing quickly grabbed him, "Brother, don't rush. The price can still be negotiated."
"Mr. Du, you are not being realistic at all. If it's still that price, we have nothing to discuss."
Du Xing muttered to himself, realistic? Who nowadays in business is realistic? "Young man, name your price."
Qin Hao looked at him and said, "Thirteen yuan per pound."
Mr. Du immediately responded, "Young man, my cost isn't even that low. Fifteen yuan per pound is my bottom line. If you still can't accept it, then you might need to look elsewhere."
Qin Hao looked at Mr. Du, then nodded, "Okay."
Mr. Du asked, "Young man, when do you want the goods?"
Qin Hao replied, "In the next couple of days. Do you do the slaughtering here?"
He had neither the manpower nor the energy to slaughter ducks.
Mr. Du clarified, "The market has specialists for slaughtering ducks. You can hire them. It's not expensive, but you'll have to pay for that service."
Qin Hao nodded, "Okay, I'll give you a call when I'm ready."
"Sure, but you'll need to pay a five hundred yuan deposit first."
After paying the deposit and leaving his number, Qin Hao left. The roast duck shop still wasn't ready, and with the weather being too hot, bringing in the roast ducks too early could easily spoil them.
