Chapter 73 - Meng Yongyan Looking for Trouble with Ye Hao
Tang Pianpian's skepticism was understandable.
If Ye Hao could easily come up with thirty million yuan, he could afford a house in Glento.
“A couple of days ago, someone gifted me a Dawn Pearl,” Ye Hao mentioned.
“Dawn Pearl?” Tang Pianpian's eyes sparkled. “Can I see it?”
Ye Hao got up and retrieved the Dawn Pearl from the guest bedroom.
“This pearl is stunning,” Tang Pianpian remarked, her eyes filled with envy.
“If you like it, it's yours,” Ye Hao offered with a smile.
Tang Pianpian blushed at the gesture.

The fact that Ye Hao was willing to give it to her without a second thought made Tang Pianpian's heart flutter.
“It's too precious,” Tang Pianpian said quickly, placing the Dawn Pearl back in its box.
“In a couple of days, I'll hand this Dawn Pearl over to the auction house,” Ye Hao said gently. “You can start working on the new app now.”
“Do you really trust that I can pull this off?” Tang Pianpian pondered before looking intently into Ye Hao's eyes.
“Yes.”
“I won't let you down,” Tang Pianpian promised earnestly.
“Don't put too much pressure on yourself,” Ye Hao advised. He then called Taishi Xiu.
“I need a favor,” Ye Hao got straight to the point.
“Just tell me what you need,” Taishi Xiu responded, his eyes lighting up at the request.
Ye Hao was highly respected, and the Vermilion Bird Squad had been eager to recruit him, but he had declined their offers twice.
“Do you know how to develop apps?”
“Of course!”
“I'm looking for top-notch computer engineers.”
“That's me; I'm one of the best.”
Ye Hao was somewhat skeptical of Taishi Xiu's claim.
“What are Death God and Ning Xuan's specialties?”
“Death God is one of the world's leading hackers. Ning Xuan is an advisor for the National Security Intelligence Department.”
“They're that impressive?”
“Absolutely.”
“I'm planning to design an app. Would you be interested in helping out?”
“We'd be glad to help.”
“Would you consider working at my company?”
“You're not fooling me?”
“There's no need for me to lie about such things,” Ye Hao said as he stood up. “I'm far from ordinary.”
“I just realized I forgot something,” Tang Pianpian said, slapping her forehead.
“What's that?”
“I forgot to do my embroidery.”
“Well, you can do it now.”
“But I have a class this morning.”
“Then take the day off,” Ye Hao suggested with a grin. “Taishi Xiu will be at the airport in a couple of hours. Aren't you coming with me to pick him up?”
“We'll go together,” Tang Pianpian responded eagerly.
Meeting Taishi Xiu was crucial for the development of the new app, so Tang Pianpian needed to see him. Besides, there were many details to iron out after their meeting, and she didn't want to leave it all to Ye Hao.
After Ye Hao left the room, he noticed Xiao Ming was missing.
Seeing Xiao Ming's luggage still there, he figured Xiao Ming had probably stepped out to shop.
Soon after, Xiao Ming returned, carrying a red-feathered rooster, and asked, “Do you know where I can find paper and brushes around here?”
“Just tell the taxi driver you want to go to Academic Lane,” Tang Pianpian advised, emerging from the bathroom.
“I'm on it,” Xiao Ming said, ready to leave.
“Hold on,” Ye Hao called out, catching up to him. “I need to buy some breakfast.”
Tang Pianpian felt a twinge of self-reproach, thinking, “How could I have forgotten to get breakfast for Ye Hao!”
By the time Ye Hao came back with breakfast for two, Tang Pianpian had finished sewing two pouches.
“Which one would you like?”
Ye Hao examined the pouches, his expression turning curious.
The two pouches were embroidered with mandarin ducks!
Tang Pianpian blinked and inquired, “What's the matter?”
“Nothing,” Ye Hao replied, selecting one of the pouches with a look of confusion. He wondered, “Does Tang Pianpian not realize the significance of mandarin ducks?”
Regardless of Tang Pianpian's knowledge on the subject, Ye Hao decided not to bring it up.
Ye Hao was halfway through his breakfast when his phone began to ring.
Seeing Yuan Gaoxing's name on the caller ID, Ye Hao was taken aback. He answered the call and said, “What's up?”
“Ye Hao, skip the military training today.”
“Why?”
“Meng Yongyan has brought a group of guys looking for you.”
“Meng Yongyan?” A chill flashed in Ye Hao's eyes.
“Meng Yongyan has his connections in the student council, so he's got his crew posted right outside our dorm,” Yuan Gaoxing explained, clearly displeased.
“Got it,” Ye Hao responded, then ended the call.
“Is Meng Yongyan giving you trouble?” Tang Pianpian asked, having overheard Ye Hao mention the name.
