Chapter 115 - Fox Immortal Wanted to Entrust Her Granddaughters to Ye Hao
“Nothing is impossible,” the Fox Immortal cautioned Qingqing.
Although Qingqing appeared to have taken the warning to heart, she remained skeptical deep down.
Ye Hao and Xiao Ming exchanged glances, both taken aback by the unexpected outcome. The Fox Immortal had entrusted her group of beautiful granddaughters to their care.
”Young Masters, what are your thoughts?” the Fox Immortal inquired, fixing her gaze on Ye Hao and Xiao Ming.
“Should the forewarned calamity occur, I will take them to the Keepers of Forbidden Lore,” Xiao Ming declared solemnly.
His words sparked a gleam of hope in the eyes of many of the young women present. The Keepers of Forbidden Lore, as one of the Six Factions of the Way of Nature, possessed a profound heritage. The prospect of cultivating there meant they wouldn't have to live in fear any longer.
The Fox Immortal then turned her attention to Ye Hao.
“The best I can offer is my swordsmanship. As long as I stand, they will be safe,” Ye Hao stated thoughtfully.
His commitment drew the notice of a few of the young women, though it lacked the allure of Xiao Ming's promise.
“Now, you may choose for yourselves,” the Fox Immortal said gently.
“Grandmother, what do you mean?” a girl around fourteen or fifteen years old asked anxiously, clutching the Fox Immortal's hand.
“I must enter seclusion before the great battle, and you must leave this place now,” the Fox Immortal explained, her eyes filled with affection and reluctance.
After a brief pause, she spoke more firmly, “No more tears. It's time to make your decisions.”
“I want to go to the Keepers of Forbidden Lore.” Following the choice of an older woman, the others began to declare their decisions in turn.
“I want to go to the Keepers of Forbidden Lore.”
“I want to go to the Keepers of Forbidden Lore.”
Ye Hao felt a twinge of embarrassment as each fox spirit chose Xiao Ming over him. Was he really that lacking?
“I choose Ye Hao,” Qingqing announced, pointing to him.
Her decision surprised many. “Rather than a life of ease, I prefer the thrill of battle,” Qingqing explained, her gaze sweeping over the crowd.
“I'll go with Qingqing,” decided a girl in a green dress, stepping decisively to stand by Ye Hao's side.
“I want to be with my sisters.”
“I want to be with my sisters.”
Before long, only the girl of about 14 to 15 years old, standing next to the Fox Immortal, remained.
In terms of beauty, the only girl who could hold a candle to her was Qingqing. And as this girl matured, she might even outshine Qingqing.
“Momo, what's your decision?” the Fox Immortal asked gently.
“Miss Leng, how many calls will it take before you give up?” Ye Hao pressed the answer button and inquired.
“Why haven't you been answering my calls?” Leng Xue realized from Ye Hao's tone that he was deliberately ignoring her calls.
“I've been very busy.”
“Busy with what?”
“That's not something you need to worry about. Just get to the point if you have something to say.”
“My father would like to speak with you.”
“I don't have time.”
“Ye Hao, you know what my father intends. What will it take for you to leave the Leng family alone?”
“You still care about the Leng family, I see.” Ye Hao's tone shifted as he continued, “Yesterday, as I was passing by Pinlinet Creek, I saw the Sea of Love. Owning a house there might just improve my mood.”
“The Sea of Love is full of villas,” Leng Xue said with a wry smile.
“I've always had a thing for villas.”
“That's quite harsh of you.”
“I prefer to think of it as redistributing wealth.”
“I'll pass your message on to my father.” Leng Xue knew all too well that her father would certainly meet Ye Hao's demands.
Just the day before, the Security Bureau had detained several members of both the Soong and Leng families.
Moreover, due to the incident involving Soong Yu, the stock prices of both families had been plummeting.
As soon as Ye Hao ended the call with Leng Xue, his phone rang again.
“Soong family head, if you keep calling me, do you really think I won't sue you for harassment?” Ye Hao spoke without mincing words.
Soong Leji's expression grew grim.
He thought to himself, “You think I want to call you? If it weren't for your grudge against the Soong family, why would I bother?”
“Ye Hao, let's cut to the chase,” Soong Leji said sternly, “What must I do for you to spare the Soong family?”
“I really don't appreciate those comments. Are you implying that I have something against the Soong family?” Ye Hao expressed his displeasure.
“Apologies, I misspoke,” Soong Leji conceded, even though he was seething with anger, he knew he had to swallow his pride at that moment.
Unbeknownst to Soong Leji, Ye Hao truly had no involvement in the Security Bureau taking members of his family. They were merely carrying out a standard procedure.
”If you're looking to make amends, that's not out of the question. I'll send you my bank account details later,” Ye Hao stated coolly.
Soong Leji breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this. His greatest fear was that Ye Hao wouldn't state his terms.
