Chapter 303 Leveling Up By Doing Alchemy

The next morning, Scrawny had died as well. Not like I really cared; he was scum. Someone that dared to attack us for petty reasons. Nobody was going to miss him. However, he did good in serving me, and his Spirit Orb was promptly extracted from his chest. This time I didn't absorbed it but saved it for later. Alongside that, we inspected the corpse. The man had apparently died just a few hours ago, his body was skeletal, and his demonic limbs had grown even bigger and stronger.

How interesting, are these limbs mutating or evolving in some sort of way? They were merely the limbs of the Imps. The physiology of demons is truly intriguing. What if I put them into a demon's body, will it revive? I hate demons, but perhaps taming a strong one wouldn't be bad either.

Nonetheless, Midget was the last of the three, and he received the transplant right after. This time, we helped him a lot at healing, transferring mana, and feeding. The limbs were powerful and immediately began to absorb his life, but we feed him with a lot of Stamina Potions I had made using demon blood and my own blood too, and then left him by himself.

If my family were to know about what I was doing here, I don't know how they would react. Perhaps they would become afraid of my true nature, or maybe they would try to forget about it. There's no point in showing this to them, anyways. And I am sure this underground base is well guarded. I also have a Huginn always looking at the entrance while hiding in the nearby trees to immediately tell me if there's anybody trying to do anything funny.

We decided to spend the next day doing alchemy in Erika's home. She was as lively as ever, and quickly calmed down my own stressed spirit. Being this gruesome was new for this new life of mine. Perhaps I had grown weak spiritually due to this, but now that I am getting more used to killing again, this feeling should go away eventually. Nonetheless, my face is quite stiff, so it's not as if anybody can tell my emotional changes.

"Ooh, what are you making today?" Erika wondered, as her Dolls were walking around and using Skills such as [Dance] and even [Sword Mastery] for her. She had discovered that her Doll Spirits were able to level up her own Skills by gaining Skill EXP for her after all. So she was going along with our bet and doing as I had told her. The results were quite obvious, as she had already told me that three of her skills suddenly leveled up out of nowhere.

"Potions as usual. I've discovered a new Herb named Bitter Herb, which is very low quality, but abundant. I am trying to make it into an essential oil to create better healing potions." I said. "And also, I am making some Demon Potions, but keep that a secret."

"A-Alright! It's a secret between frens!" Erika said while nodding. "Can I drink one too?"

"No, it will do more bad than good to your body." I sighed. "I am making them merely because… I can use them to grow stronger."

"Ooooh! So that was it…" Erika said.

"I-Is it okay to tell her about this?" Eleanora interrupted our discussion, she was in her small girl form behind us.

"It's fine, we are all friends here!" Erika said, petting Eleanora's head.

"She already knew about this from before, and she hadn't told anybody, so she's smart and trustworthy enough." I answered Eleanora. Erika heard my praises, only growing more flustered by it.

"Hm, I think its done…" I said, looking at the cauldron as the red-colored potion I made was ready.

This was as combination of demon materials and herbs, such as Bitter Herb Oil extracts. It could both heal wounds and also refill demonic energy or heal wounds that could be caused by demonic energy. This is a new medicine I made for the time I transplant a demon limb into my body. Which I've already decided to make it one of my arms for now, all the limbs at once would be detrimental after all. The Grimoire promptly showed me the fruit of my labor.

Yes! I've finally gotten enough EXP! After hunting little critters and making Potions for a while, I've finally managed to reach Level 1. Of course, this was also thanks to the Familiars I left in the forest, Fenrir, Orcus, and Huginn constantly hunt small prey to give me some daily dose of EXP, all while Usagi finds herbs for me, which also give me some EXP (very little).

Hm, my stats increased nicely. And my MP has finally reached over 700! Is it my idea or stats increase even more per level than before? I can gain 30 MP with each Level… By the time I reach Level 30, I will have an extra 900 MP! Of course, thanks to Flare, my new Fire Salamander Summon, I'll be able to increase my MP even more…
