It didn’t take a long time for Aiden to complete the recording with Grey.
Although Grey seemed like just another celebrity with his fair share of controversies and unique habits, he had a habit of never taking his work for granted.
Being an experienced and very professional musician, Grey gave all his time to the recording, and they managed to finish up the song just before March.
With that, only one more song was left to record in his album.
It was called ‘Day’, and it was a song about Aiden’s fears as a celebrity and how he wondered he was going to change along the journey with all the fame and money coming his way.
It was a very soulful track with magical music, high notes and great lyrics and one that Aiden had finished during the shooting of [Disconnected].
After recording ‘Shiver’ with Grey, Aiden had straight returned to New York to complete the recording of the track and finally finish up his first album.
After that, he was going to get busy shooting music videos, promotions and then live shows would go on for a long time. Aside from that, there were also the auditions for [Sherlock of the Shadows] that were apparently going to happen in late April.
Thankfully, the project had been delayed a bit due to a lot of changes in the initial script of the series.
Otherwise, Aiden would not be able to do it with him being so busy with his album.
The next three months were going to be extremely packed for him.
“Aiden, can you go a bit higher at the end? I want to make the chorus a bit higher in volume too.”
The sound engineer said, looking up at Aiden inside the recording booth. Behind the guy, Aiden’s whole team was present.
It was because Aiden was currently on the final parts of ‘Day’, and the album was going to finally finish.
They wanted to witness it for themselves.
“Okay.”
Aiden said, and the music started. He had used violin for the chorus of the song, an instrument that he rarely used before, but it had suited a lot to the feeling that he wanted to embed in the song.
Taking a breath, Aiden started singing.
“Would a day like that really come?”
“When I’m not speaking the truth when I’m just one in a group.”
“Would a day like that really come?”
- “When I would wonder what it’s like, to stand at the top with no one in sight.”
“Ohh, I wonderrrr.”
Like what the sound engineer said, Aiden tried to get the notes to go even higher at the end, especially at the last line.
Silver light burst out of him as he did that.
To the ones listening to it, Aiden’s voice was really complimenting the music at the moment, even sounding magical at times with all the high notes and lyrics.
He had worked very hard on this song, and it was clearly showing.
Finally, after a while, Aiden stopped and got out of the recording booth. The white light slowly died down as he looked at the sound engineer who was listening to the last part again.
“It’s good.” He said. “I think we are done.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, congratulations. You have completed your first album.”
Hearing that, Aiden released a deep sigh and looked at Wade, who smiled back at him and laughed.
The other team members also cheered, and Jody quickly took out the champagne bottle that he had brought to celebrate.
“Haha, it’s finally completed! You really worked hard on it.”
“Yeah, all those 9 tracks were hard.”
Aiden said, thinking of each of the 9 tracks.
‘Firefly’ was the main track made with Rachel.
‘Shiver’ was a pop song with Grey.
‘Life is a story’, ‘I can’t seem to forget’ and ‘Hold onto me’ were singles he had released before, and he made them even better. this time
‘Day’ was an original that was very close to him because it was a song about his fears of the future.
The last three tracks were ‘Are you okay?’, a ballad song, ‘Ghosts’, which was a fusion song and ‘Roles’, a song about how society just pushes some roles on people even if they don’t want it.
All three of them were the songs Aiden had made during shooting. It was a tough job, but he had managed to complete it finally.
“I never thought making an album would be so hard,” Aiden said, sitting down to take a rest from all the singing.
“It’s never easy. The good thing is that you completed it. Next will be just the music videos, and then we would just need to wait for the album to release. Trust me, it’s going to—”
Ring! Ring!
As Wade was speaking, his phone suddenly started vibrating. He took it out and saw that it was a call from a reporter he knew.
‘What happened now? Must be an interview call.’
He thought and picked it up, but the first words he heard shook him to the core.
“Hello, can you please give me an interview? I really want to know what Aiden thinks of his first Oscar nomination.”
“What?” Wade made an odd expression. “What are you talking about?”
“Didn’t you hear? Are you still clueless about it? Oscar nominations just came up, and Aiden’s name is in it.”
“What?! Wait! Let me call you later.”
He cut the call like that, and Aiden looked at him, wondering what was happening. Sasha and Tom were also staring at him.
Jody and Lia were the only ones who were already drinking. George was also sitting next to them.
Ignoring everyone, Wade just opened the browser and searched for it. Oscar nominations were really out, and it was displayed on the official site of the Academy awards.
Scrolling down, Wade finally saw Aiden’s name under one of the categories. For a second, he wondered if it was even true as his face froze.
He was not able to believe it.
“Wade, what happened?”
Aiden asked, and Wade’s eyes glanced at him and his mouth opened before he knew it.
“Oscar nominations just came out. You are nominated for Best Original song. ‘Lost in the Sky’ is nominated!”

Oscar nominations were something very special every year as it was the award that everyone in the movie industry craved. Even though the craze for it had gotten less in recent years, it was still a prestigious award.
When the news came out that [30 days of Happiness] had won the ‘People’s choice award’ at the Toronto film festival, a lot of people wondered whether it was going to get a nomination at the Oscars.
It seemed unlikely as the movie had a young cast and a debutant director. The Academy was known not to give out awards to young people in the industry, and one needed to have a lot of work behind them.
So, a nomination for Best Picture or Best Screenplay was something that was just a distant dream.
But a nomination in the ‘Best Original song’ category was different as it was not that famous in that category, and the competition was far less brutal too.
Moreover, [30 days of Happiness] was known more for his music than anything else.
So when Aiden got the nomination in the ‘Best Original song’ category, not many were surprised. Despite his age, the song that Aiden had made was something that was surely at a level of nomination.
The only reason why he might have even lost out on the ‘Best Original score’ nomination would have been his age and less experience.
Still, this news was something that was way too big for everyone involved with Aiden.
An Oscar nomination was a big thing that would get his name all over the world.
Soon, articles popped up about it.
<Oscar nominations came out late this year, but we have some exciting names on the list. [DODA] and [Mad People] are in the race for Best Picture.>
<This year, Oscar nominations see a mixed group of people being nominated. There’s going to be a lot of competition going on for the prize. Especially in categories like Best Actor and Best Picture.>
<Aiden Silvereye got an Oscar nomination for his song ‘Lost in the Sky’. He might become one of the youngest to receive the award at the ceremony that is going to be held in April.>
<Leonardo Francisco lost out on a nomination once again. The youngest nominee is Aiden Silvereye for Best Original song for the movie [30 days of Happiness].>
<A lot of indie movies made up for the nominations alongside some commercial blockbusters that were a hit with both fans and critics. This year’s Oscars are bound to be spicy.>
Like that, articles kept pouring out one after another, and it soon started trending on Sparrow.
This year’s Oscars was a bit late with the nominations due to various reasons, but when it finally came out, it made the news as most major Hollywood publications wrote articles on it.
Aiden was also talked about a lot as it was not just every day that a person who was not even American fully would get a nomination while being so young.
It was a huge deal.
As Aiden was too busy shooting and working on his album, he had not even realised that Oscar nominations were going to come. The other award shows had not been nominated [30 days of Happiness], so he did not really care about the Oscars this year.
So, it was like a bolt of thunder that hit him out of nowhere.
