Villain Ch 80. Energy Transfer
Allen sold all his hunting results and bought some Mid Potions. Useful or not, he preferred stocked some than he regretted it. But when he closed the potion list screen and looked to the side, he realized that Jane was just silent by his side. She didn't buy any potions to heal her wounds or anything. Her expression still showed something that bothered him.
"Don't you have Coins to buy potions?" he asked, trying to make conversation. He knew that Jane was an experienced player, and he assumed that she had plenty of hunting items to sell. So, it was strange to see her standing there, seemingly without a care in the world.
"I—" Jane was about to say no, but Allen spoke again. "I can also heal you if you want," he offered. He thought it was a good opportunity to try out his new skill.
Jane looked at Allen with a mix of surprise and confusion. He offered to heal her? Was that meant they would 'do' it? It was an unexpected gesture, but she couldn't deny that she was intrigued. She also wanted it. After all, healing potions were expensive, and if Allen had a way to heal her for free, it could save her a lot of Coins.
"You can heal me?" she asked, still in disbelief. As far as she knew, Allen was a DPS character, not a healer. He didn't have any magical abilities that could heal others, did he?
"Yes," he said simply. And without any hesitation, he used his new skill, 'Energy Transfer'. At first, Jane thought it would be the same as the usual healing skill. But then she noticed a warm sensation spreading through her body, like a soothing balm on her wounds.
Then something happened… And it wasn't like any healing spell she had ever experienced before.
Allen's body moved as if it had a will of its own, inching closer to Jane's. His heart was pounding in his chest as his hand reached up to take her chin gently, tilting her face towards his. The electric charge between them was palpable as their lips met in a brief but intense kiss. The taste of her lips was like a sweet nectar, sending shivers down his spine. He could feel her warm breath on his skin and the softness of her lips against his own.
For Jane, the experience was just as surprising. Her heart was racing as Allen's lips met hers, sending waves of pleasure through her body. She felt his hand cup her chin, holding her face in place as his lips pressed against hers. The sensation was overwhelming, and she found herself melting into his arms. She felt her health bar slowly filling up, and her mana bar increasing as well. They didn't use any tongue, but the kiss was still enough to shock them both.
Allen pulled away from the kiss and felt a slight decrease in his HP and DP. He knew he needed to restore his health, but his mind was still reeling from the unexpected kiss. He glanced at Jane and saw that she seemed to be in better shape than before. Her wounds had disappeared, and her HP and DP were fully loaded.
But as the kiss ended, Allen broke the spell with a simple statement, "I definitely didn't expect that." He confessed to Jane that he had thought it would be like the Healing Light skill, a simple and practical move. His words landed like a blow, shattering her shock.
Jane, on the other hand, was left reeling. 'Oh God…' she screamed internally. Her heart felt as if it was going to burst from her chest, and she struggled to catch her breath. She fought to regain her composure, telling herself that it was just a kiss in a game. However, her inner turmoil was palpable, and she knew that she couldn't shake the feeling that something had changed between her and Allen.
As Jane tried to collect herself, she began to wonder if her single life had left her too vulnerable to emotions. Maybe she was overreacting to something that was insignificant to others. She had male colleagues who were good to her, but she never felt anything for them. It was only Allen who made her feel alive and connected. She couldn't quite put her finger on why that was, but she knew that he had awakened something deep inside her that she had never felt before.
For a moment, Jane found herself struggling to find the right words. "Yeah, that's unexpected," she finally managed to stammer out, her heart racing in her chest. She scolded herself for getting so nervous over such a small thing, but deep down she knew that there was more to it than that.
It had been five long years since Jane had last kissed someone, and the memory of that last encounter was nothing but a distant blur. She couldn't even remember what her ex's face looked like, let alone how it had felt to be held in his arms. And so, this unexpected kiss from Allen had awakened something deep within her, a longing for human connection that she had thought long forgotten.
"Thank you for healing me," she said again, her voice barely above a whisper.
Allen smiled, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "No problem," he said. "Just tell me if you need potions."
The remainder of their shared purpose brought Jane back to reality, and she was once again reminded of the many challenges that lay ahead. She knew that she couldn't let her emotions get the best of her, not when there were so many lives depending on her and her fellow players.
And yet, despite her best efforts to remain calm and composed, Jane couldn't shake the feeling that something had changed between her and Allen. She knew that it was foolish to read too much into a simple kiss, but she couldn't help but wonder if there was more to it than that.
