Villain Ch 82. The Game's Love Story
Shea put on a brave smile, trying her best to hide her inner turmoil. She could feel her heart racing in her chest, her palms sweating as she faced Allen. She had been in love with him ever since they had first met, and the sight of him always made her feel weak in the knees.
"Have you guys just finished hunting?" she asked, trying to sound casual despite the butterflies in her stomach.
Allen stopped nearby, his piercing gaze fixed on her. "Yes. How are you? Are you feeling any better?" he asked, concern evident in his voice. He caught her nervousness. It was subtle of course, but he immediately felt something different. He didn't catch her dominance anymore nor could he say it was a bit weaker than before. He knew it was because of him, so to make sure that they were good, he decided to ask.
Shea's heart skipped a beat at the sound of his voice. She had always been drawn to him, to his confidence and his strength. And now, standing in front of him, she could feel her defenses crumbling.
"I'm fine," she replied, trying to sound more confident than she felt. 'I think...' she added internally. She knew she wasn't okay. It was hard for her to share the same room with him. Especially since Allen's eyes were on her. He was clearly observing her and it was obvious he knew what was happening to her. Shea knew Zoe had already told him about it after all.
"How was the meeting? You looked in a hurry." Allen asked again. He decided to break the ice between them and dissolved the awkward situation.
Shea couldn't help but feel her cheeks turning red as Allen continued to look at her. She tried her best to keep her composure, but she knew he could see right through her. "It was good," she said, trying to keep her voice steady. "Just a lot to discuss, you know."
Allen didn't look convinced, but he didn't press the matter any further. Instead, they talked about the upcoming event and their strategies for tackling it. Shea found herself relaxing as they talked, her nervousness fading away with each passing minute.
Meanwhile, Vivian and Larissa were busy buying potions, while Bella and Alice were more interested in the group dynamics. They had been keeping a close eye on Shea and Allen and had been exchanging private messages about it.
[Eira: OMG, this is worth a watch. Did you see the way Shea was looking at Allen? Can you see how different Shea is? She is very different from yesterday.]
[Selena: Indeed. I never thought that apart from a game, I could get a love story in this game. This is worth a watch.]
[Eira: Do you think we will fall for him too?]
[Selena: Maybe. You know what happened yesterday. I know it was a joke. But hey, the sensation and thrill were real.]
[Eira: Indeed. But I wonder when will he make a move on us?]
Alice couldn't help but cringe at that question. And Bella replied with an innocent smile.
"You almost made me puke," Alice said, her voice laced with disgust.
Bella simply grinned in response. "Then puke. I'll report it as a bug to the game company and get money from my report."
Alice rolled her eyes. She knew that Bella was just teasing her. But instead of answering her via voice, she decided to send a private message again.
[Selena: Maybe we should tease him sometimes? You know a threesome in a game is probably a good idea.]
[Eira: You want us to join the band?]
[Selena: Yes. That's the idea. I mean, why not? I'm sure it will be exciting.]
[Eira: You slut...]
[Selena: Shut up, bitch.]
Of course, it was a joke. They were used to saying it, so there were no hard feelings between them.
[Eira: So, are you coming or not?]
Alice gave her a smug smile.
[Selena: I'm in, of course.]
[Eira: Great. We just need a perfect time to do it.]
[Selena: After the event is over?]
Bella's narrowed eyes glinted with annoyance as she turned her head to face Alice, who stood before her with an air of childlike innocence. The question that hung heavily in the air between them was clear from Bella's expression: Are you dumb?
The adrenaline rush still pulsed through their veins, and Bella had no patience for Alice's absurd suggestion. They were a full team after the event was over. The mere thought of asking Allen, their teammate, to have a threesome in front of others was nothing short of suicidal.
Alice's face brightened with an innocent grin as she babbled, "I only gave my idea." Her carefree attitude grated on Bella's nerves, and she felt her patience wearing thin.
"That's a really genius idea," Bella retorted with a mocking tone, "brilliant enough to kill us." She couldn't believe Alice was so naive as to even suggest such a thing.
"They won't kill us," Alice said in a low, hissing voice.
"Who will kill you?" a deep, male voice suddenly interrupted them, causing both women to jump. They turned to face the source of the sound.
The voice belonged to none other than Allen, who had overheard their conversation.
Allen's eyes scanned the faces of his fellow teammates, Bella and Alice, with a hint of confusion. Shea, Larissa, Vivian, and even Zoe, who was online, shared the same inquisitive look. It seemed they both didn't realize that they were done.
Bella and Alice exchanged nervous glances, unsure of what to say.
"Uh, n-no one, Allen. We were just joking around," Bella stammered.
"Joking around? About what?" Allen raised an eyebrow, his eyes glinting mischievously.
Bella, sensing that Alice's attempt to downplay the situation was failing, quickly stepped in to offer an explanation. "It's about our work, so don't think too much about it," she said, hoping to divert their attention away from the awkwardness.
