Chapter 487 Morning Guests
Villain Ch 487. Morning Guests
Feeling his head spinning and a throbbing pain at his temples, he decided to take a moment to rest. He carefully let his VR set rest on his lap, and leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes. With one hand, he gently massaged the bridge of his nose in an attempt to alleviate the discomfort.
'Am I sick?' Allen thought, a slight unease creeping over him. Sickness was a rare visitor in his life; he was usually meticulous about taking care of his health. However, he couldn't evade the vulnerabilities of being human.
He shifted his gaze to the clock on the wall. 8:31 PM. 'It's already this late?' he wondered. The passage of time had caught him by surprise. It seemed that the dungeon run had consumed more hours than he'd anticipated.
Allen set his VR set down on the table. His chair's leather creaked as he stood up, and the soft glow of the room's ambient lighting filled his senses.
Stretching his stiff limbs, he made his way to the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge. As he twisted off the cap and took a long swig, he contemplated what to prepare for dinner. He didn't feel like fussing with a complicated meal, so he opted for simplicity.
He grabbed a pack of pre-marinated chicken breast strips and a selection of assorted veggies. With a deft flick, he tossed the seasoned chicken into his trusty air fryer, followed by the medley of veggies. Setting the timer with a few button presses, he let the appliance work its magic.
With the timer counting down, he ventured into the bathroom, leaving his meal in the capable hands of the air fryer. Steam enveloped him as he turned on the hot water, and he relaxed under the warm spray. It was a brief but refreshing shower, just enough to wash away the fatigue and sweat accumulated from the day.
After stepping out of the bathroom, a fluffy towel wrapped around his waist and another in his hand to dry his hair, Allen made his way to his bedroom. He opened a drawer and pulled out a comfy pair of sleeping clothes. Quickly changing into them, he felt a sense of relaxation.
As he walked into the kitchen, the welcoming ding of the air fryer signaled that his dinner was ready. The smell of crispy chicken and the earthy aroma of the roasted vegetables filled the air. With a contented sigh, he took his dishes out and neatly arranged the food onto a plate.
Sitting down at the kitchen counter, he used one hand to scroll through his phone. His eyes darted across the screen, searching for suitable places to spend time with Bella and Alice, as they had requested. However, he soon found himself facing a conundrum. Their energetic personalities made him lean towards fun and lively activities, such as a trip to the theme park. But that didn't seem to evoke the kind of romantic atmosphere he wanted for their date.
He thought for a moment, contemplating the balance between fun and romance. As he enjoyed his meal, he wondered how he could cater to both Bella and Alice's excitement while also creating a romantic setting that would make the evening special for them all.
Taking a deep breath, he set his phone aside and reached for the last piece of chicken on his plate. As he savored the flavorful bite, he couldn't help but wonder if he should consult with Jane on this matter. She had an uncanny ability to come up with creative and unique ideas.
'Perhaps I should let Jane give her opinion on this,' he thought, considering the regret that was starting to gnaw at him. 'Well, I'll ask for her help if I find myself at a dead end.' Allen was determined to plan a memorable date that would not only be fun but also set the stage for a romantic evening with Bella and Alice.
Clearing the dishes and tidying his room, Allen let his dinner settle before heading to bed. He felt an unusual heaviness in his head, most likely due to his lack of sleep. Hoping that a good night's rest would alleviate the sensation, he climbed into bed. The fatigue and the excitement of the day soon caught up with him, and he drifted off to sleep rather quickly.
Morning arrived, casting bright sunlight through the curtains, yet Allen remained undisturbed in deep slumber. The clock on his bedside table showed 10.12 AM, a time far later than he typically woke up. His phone, which should have sounded its alarm, lay dormant on the table. Its battery had depleted during the night, a result of Allen's oversight in forgetting to charge it.
The room basked in the morning's warmth as the sun's rays filtered through the curtains, gently touching Allen's face. However, something was different this morning, and Allen's body seemed to demand the extra rest. The room remained peacefully still, with the only sound being the soft, steady rhythm of his sleeping breaths.n.(o).V..e.-1(-B((I).n
*Ding Dong*
A sudden chime echoed through the apartment, jolting Allen from his deep slumber. The sound was a rare occurrence, usually signaling an emergency or an urgent matter. The apartment's intercom system had been activated, indicating that someone had arrived and was attempting to gain entry. The purpose behind such a visit was concerning, especially given the presence of security personnel, who would accompany anyone wishing to enter the building when the resident failed to respond to the internal calls.
Groggily, Allen struggled to collect his thoughts, his mind clouded by the effects of his prolonged rest. The ringing persisted, urging him to take action.
Allen's eyelids lifted lazily as he awoke, his vision momentarily blurry and disoriented. He cradled his head in his hand, gently massaging his temples in an attempt to clear the lingering fog of drowsiness. The weight in his head, the same heaviness that had plagued him the previous night, served as a reminder that something was amiss.
Despite his initial grogginess, he was relieved to find no signs of a sore throat or fever. However, the persistent headache indicated that the situation was far from ideal.
