“I can’t do it!”
“Of course, you can! Try imagining your human form and your body will automatically change into it!”
“You think I’m not trying?!”
“Well then try harder!!”
Currently, Sam was teaching Lucas how to turn back into his human form.
After a few hours of continuous trying, Lucas finally managed to turn back into his human form.
“See I knew you could do it!” Sam praised as soon as Lucas turned back to normal.
The shirt that Lucas was previously wearing was ripped and even his jeans were in shreds. That’s because his Demonic Transformation was more muscular than his normal self.
“Huff Huff!” Lucas didn’t reply anything as he was busy panting for air like a puppy out of breath.
“Haha! Come on get up.” Looking at Lucas, Sam found his condition amusing. “The sun is about to rise, we should go back to our dorms.”
It took a whole night for Sam to turn Lucas into a Demon. Right now the time was [5:19] and the sun was about to rise.
“Huff! Yeah!” Lucas replied, still out of breath.
Sam nodded agreeably and turned around to leave the basement lab through the exit door.
Lucas got up with shaky knees and followed behind Sam. He wasn’t feeling anything out of the ordinary even after becoming a Demon.
He was still able to think clearly and he could feel immense strength pulsing through his body.
So besides his body being in a peak condition and his thought process being extremely fast, he was feeling normal.
Of course, there was one other thing. Lucas was seeing Sam in a different light. He was looking at Sam as if he was some kind of God.
Needless to say, Lucas regarded that thought as ‘natural’.
The definition of ‘natural’ or ‘normal’ varies from person to person.
For some people, devoting everything they have to their religion is normal and for some, it isn’t. Some people devour meat as if it’s a normal thing while others believe it to be wrong.
In short, you decide what’s normal for yourself.
Sam just tampered with Lucas’ brain and programmed it to think of him as some kind of holy deity. So for Lucas to see Sam as a worship material was ‘normal’.
“Call me sire from now on, Lucas,” Sam ordered while still walking in front.
“Yes, sire.” Lucas performed a short bow as he kept walking behind Sam.
The duo was about to exit the house and Sam was about to speak something else to Lucas.
However, before any of those things could happen, Sam noticed his shadow moving.
It was a dark room and he had just come out of the lab basement, which was filled with light, so it could just be his eyes playing tricks on him.
But Sam didn’t take any chances and morphed his eyes to be able to see in the dark. And as if waiting for that cue, the shadow beneath his feet moved again.
Widening his eyes, Sam jumped a few meters back instantly.
As soon as he did that, several black-colored spikes shot up from the ground on the spot where Sam was standing earlier.
“What’s that?!” On high alert, Lucas inquired.
“We’re being ambushed!” Sam replied in a high pitch yet a calm tone.
Before Lucas could ask any more questions, a long black spike shot out at him from his shadow.
However, Lucas didn’t move. He simply stood there. His eyes glowed in a light shade of red and the spike that was about to hit him got suspended in space.
Lucas used his ability to nullify all the force of the black spike. He further redirected that force to stop the spike in mid-air.
His precision and mastery of his ability had grown tremendously after being transformed into a Demon by Sam.
Looking at the suspended spike in mid-air, Lucas couldn’t help but wonder out loud.
“This spike… It doesn’t look like it’s made of metal. What’s this thing made of?” Lucas touched his chin.
“Shadow,” Sam replied matter-of-factly. “That spike is made of solidified shadow.”
“Solidified shadow?” Shocked by that revelation, Lucas too jumped where Sam was standing on guard and decided to watch his back. “So it’s a shadow ability user. Do you know who it might be?”
A couple of shadow spikes shot at them again from beneath their feet. Sam and Lucas didn’t waste a single second in jumping and avoiding the incoming attack.
“Only one person comes to mind,” Sam replied while jumping a few steps back. “But I can’t sense him with my Bio-sense!”
“Bio-sense? What’s that sire?” Lucas asked while jumping and avoiding the black spikes himself.
Before Sam proceeded to answer his Demon General’s question, he hopped in front of the switchboard and flipped all of the switches.
The dark room instantly brightened up as the room was lightened up by all the lights present there.
Although the shadows were still present, they were much less compared to the previously dark room.
“It’s one of the many sub-abilities that let me sense all the living life forms near me.” Sam explained while standing under a light bulb. “But the fact that I can’t sense my attacker means just one thing, he is using shadows to hide his presence.”
“So what should we do now?” Lucas asked another important question.
“If you can’t see your opponent then you fire in all directions!” Sam announced while raising both his hands in the air.
Before Lucas could even ask what he meant by that, Sam quickly dropped his hand and a shockwave emerged from his body that sent out in all directions.
Poor Lucas couldn’t even react as the shockwave hit him and his body started convulsing. All his senses, except his sense of sight, failed and he fell to the ground.
The shockwave that Sam emitted just now was an extremely lethal move. The shockwave could disrupt the nervous system of any life forms that may come in contact with it.
Lucas, who was present right beside Sam, didn’t activate his ability because he never thought his sire would hurt him without any warning amidst a freaking battle!
“Lucas, you have to be on your guard even around me.” Sam commented while watching over Lucas’ trembling body on the ground.
Although the next moment, Lucas’ newly acquired regeneration kicked in and his body began reconstructing his disrupted nervous system.
“Well well, you almost killed me there… Son!”
An authoritative voice rang throughout the room. It was a voice that Sam could even recognize in his dreams.
It was the voice of a man who raised him after his father died. It was the voice belonging to Marcel Nickelson.
The shadow beneath Sam’s feet moved again, but Sam didn’t react this time. He knew no other attack would be coming so he stood his ground.
The shadow shot up and formed a round pitch black portal in the fabric of space. A man stepped out through that portal wearing a full formal black attire.
“How many times do I have to tell you? Don’t call me son!” Sam retorted, eyeing the man up and down.
It’s been two years since Sam last saw him, but he looked identical. Albeit two years isn’t a long time, Marcel looked even younger for some reason. As if instead of aging, he was growing younger day by day.
“How many people have you killed?” Sam asked after seeing him like this.
“Oh? Is the Progenitor against me killing a few weaklings now?” Marcel said, his lips curling up in a smirk.
Sam recognized that smirk. He smiles the same way and that’s why it was putting him off.
“Anyway, who is this young man? I couldn’t hit him no matter how hard I tried.” Marcel commented while looking at Lucas, who was in the process of getting up on his feet.
“He’s my newest General and my very first Demon. He’s Lucas Redwing, the 1st General.” Sam replied.
“A Demon General? So you are finally creating your army? That means all the commotion was intentional?” Amused by the situation, Marcel unleashed a barrage of questions.
“Yes. Yes. And yes.” Sam curtly replied. He didn’t want to spend another second with this man, but it seemed like Marcel had other plans.
“I see! That’s wonderful news son~” he remarked. “Anyhow, I want to talk to you.”
“Talk to me? About what?” Confused, Sam asked.
If Marcel wanted to talk to him, there was no need for him to travel here and leave the Undercity unguarded. What’s so important that he had to come here in person?
“You see, it’s time.”

[Vector Manipulation]
?In physics, the three basic vectors are position, velocity, and force. The position is the location and orientation of something, while velocity is its speed and trajectory. Forces are the strength and direction of their acceleration, and as most objects and their interactions can be described using vectors, this ability can be used as an “absolute defense” that deflects or teleports all harmful vectors.
?With enough knowledge and skill, the user may also be able to control conceptual vectors, subatomic particles, and quantum state vectors.
