The special exam was called off, and because no one ended up winning, every student had to do community service.
Sam, on the other hand, just sent one of his clones and pushed all of his duties on him.
Although some students were still pretty traumatized, they weren’t given any breaks. When the students tried to complain, they received an expected yet a rather blunt answer.
They were told, “It’s part of a Hero’s lifestyle. You can’t get breaks in the real world, so you will not get any now.”
Honestly, it was a sound argument. A Hero deals with much more traumatizing incidents on a daily basis. If they start taking breaks, then the general public will be as good as dead.
Besides, the students knew what they were signing for from the start when they enrolled their names in the prestigious Hero Academy.
They knew their coming days would be troublesome, and they knew their life would be in constant danger, yet they chose this.
Albeit most of them chose this kind of lifestyle for money and glory, and fame, many decided to become heroes for the sake of being a Hero too.
Many kids chose this path since they believed in good and they believed in their Heroes.
However, after experiencing death so closely, anyone would feel like giving up. After all, anything’s better than dying.
Sam was feeling down too. Not because of what happened on the Island. In fact, the Villain’s attack gave him an opportunity to test out his experiment.
The reason he was feeling down was that he felt scared when he saw Starsuper.
He remembers feeling pressured. Breathing became heavy for him for a few moments. And that pressure wasn’t even directed at him. It was directed at Albert!
“What if it was directed at me? What if I tried facing Starsuper?” Questions like these couldn’t leave his mind in peace.
There was a clear power difference that he felt between him and humanity’s Strongest Hero. A difference that he had to overcome somehow, and he had to do it quickly!
Today was Sunday. A day for students to relax, so that’s what all of them were doing.
Every student was in their dorm room and chilling their day off. Since midterms were coming soon, they weren’t given any work to do either.
Sam’s dormmates were no exception. Although none of them were hurt, Sam heard from Drake that their group had to fight some Villains too.
Although Robin, Drake, and Kiara were enough to deal with them efficiently.
But while everyone was resting on their day off, Sam had something else to do in mind.
He was soaring through the skies of Academy City and flying toward his hideout.
He had bat-like wings protruding out from his back, and his Concealment ability was active, so no one was able to notice him even as he passed some of the tall building windows closely.
(What’re you thinking?) Seeing that Sam was quiet, the voice in his head asked.
“You know already,” Sam spoke. “That Starsuper– he was so strong! I expected him to be strong, but his strength surpassed my imagination.”
(Calm down, Sam. You will surpass him. Create your Demon army and revive the Dragons. Even Starsuper won’t be able to survive them, I’m sure of it)
“That’s true,” Sam nodded in determination. “I will do what my ancestors couldn’t. I will achieve my goal.”
(I’m sure you will, Sam. But you know what you need to acquire in order to do that, right?)
“I know. I need that relic of Los Angeles.”
(Yes. And after that, you will be unstoppable!)
Phoenix was already dead. Although Sam wasn’t able to witness how he died, he did see his dead body.
According to reports, Phoenix couldn’t maintain his full power for the complete duration of the fight against Albert.
He was killed five times, and he kept coming back to life. However, when he was finally killed for the sixth time, he didn’t come back, and his fire didn’t spark again.
Iroha was soon to fall afterward. Rebekah and Anthony, although reached in time until Iroha was alive, couldn’t save her from Albert.
After hearing about the death of Iroha, Sam couldn’t help but laugh.
“She was a fiery one. I wish I could’ve seen the despair in her eyes when she died.”
(Why don’t you fly faster? You don’t want to be late for your dinner with your dear mother and brother, right?)
“Shut up. You know why I’m going there, right?”
(I have a theory)
“Great, I know whatever you’re thinking is probably right. Now just sit back and see my evil plan unfold!”
