Chapter 105 105. Beckoning Fate

Name:Villain's Rising Author:
“Sire! You don’t know how scary it was! I almost cried! And that bitch, Kiara! She couldn’t even hold off Starsuper for a minute! I was so scared!”

“There there~ You did a good job, Lucas.”

It’s been 17 hours since the Battle Of The Academy City.

Every media outlet is displaying the news of Lightbringer’s death and Starsuper’s defeat.

Every person is scared. No, the right word would be terrified.

Everyone is terrified of what might happen next.

If their Strongest Hero couldn’t save them, then who will?

If even Starsuper couldn’t defeat the Progenitor, then there’s no one who could!

Are they doomed?

Is there no one who could step up and save them now?

While the outside world was in a state of utter panic, Sam couldn’t have been more relaxed.

His plan was almost completed. Just one more step, and he will win.

However, his upcoming battle will be tough.

Why? Because the Heroes know where he will go next— Los Angeles. The relic of Los Angeles is his next and final step to victory.

Once he acquires that relic, Sam will be able to break the limiters that were placed on him and achieve his goal.

But to do that, he would first have to go through all the heroes in the world.

According to the media, the city of Los Angeles and its immediate perimeters are heavily packed with Heroes on high alert.

The whole city is evacuated, and the Heroes are ready to kill anyone in sight.

According to some posts online, they have even killed a few innocent civilians just because they were getting too close to the defense line set up by Heroes.

At this point, the world wondered, could they even be considered ‘Heroes’?

However, they also knew this kind of precaution was necessary.

Not everyone knew what was in Los Angeles that required so many Heroes to be on guard, but they understood that whatever it was, it was necessary.

After all, every Hero in the world, regardless of their ranks, was making their way to Los Angeles.

So of course there was something of importance there.

Another interesting piece of news that Sam stumbled across was that there were a few rumors of criminals and villains being released.

It seemed like they were desperate enough to make deals with criminals and villains now.

Sam couldn’t help but laugh at that news. They are trying to stop him, a villain, by working together with villains.

They are siding with the lesser evil in hopes of stopping a greater one.

What their feeble minds can’t understand is how many repercussions their actions will cause them in the future, even if they manage to stop Sam right now.

Or maybe they do understand that, but they are willing to take that risk to stop him.

This just goes on to show how big of a threat they think Sam poses to their world. Though, they aren’t wrong in that assessment.

But out of all the news that Sam has been hearing for the last few hours, what piqued his interest the most was the news about Martians coming to Earth.

Yes. According to some rumors, an elite armed force dispatched by Martians will arrive on Earth in a day at most.

So not only Heroes, but Sam will also have to fight criminals, villains, and an armed force from Mars if he wants to get a hold of the relic of Los Angeles.

It was going to be troublesome, to say the least.

“Sniff! Sniff! Thank you, sire. I knew you would appreciate my work.”

“Of course~ After all, I’ll want you to risk your life again for me in the upcoming final battle of Los Angeles.”

“….”

As the world was plunged into chaos, the perpetrator who caused all that was leisurely sitting in front of a huge computer screen.

Right next to him was Lucas on his knees. He was crying and wailing about how he almost got killed.

Sam would occasionally pat his head as if he was some kind of house pet while skimming through the contents on his computer screen.

“Haa,” letting out a soft sigh, Lucas got up from his knees and stood up straight. “Anyway, what are you doing, sire?”

“Looking through news, media posts, online threads. Basically, anything that could provide information on what’s going on outside.” Sam replied nonchalantly.

Currently, Sam was in an underground hideout that he had prepared in advance somewhere in the north pole.

This underground bunker was five stories deep.

The lowest floor of the hideout is the biggest one, stretching for around 500 sq. feet as it was constructed for the sole purpose of storing a carcass of a dragon.

As of right now, Sam was on the first floor and was having a look at the condition the world was in.

“Sire, shouldn’t you get to study the dragon as soon as possible? So why are you wasting time while looking at the news?”

“My clones are at it already. Besides, this is important. I need to know what is going through their mind right now.”

“Sigh, I get that but….”

Before Lucas could argue any further, Sam turned off his computer screen and turned to his side to face the light red-haired boy.

“By the way, Lucas,” Sam said. “What happened to Kiara? I can feel she is alive. Did they capture her?”

“Yes. For some reason, Starsuper didn’t kill her on the spot.” Lucas nodded his head like a spring doll.

“I see,” Sam touched his chin at those words. “What is Starsuper trying to do now?”

After pondering over the situation for a few seconds, Sam shook his head and cleared his thoughts.

“No problem. Whatever it is they are trying to throw at me, I’ll counter it head-on.”

As Sam said those words, he got up from his chair and faced Lucas.

“By the way, I’ve sent a clone to secure your sister from the hospital she was in so she’ll be safe during tomorrow’s war. My clone must’ve healed her already. After we win, I’ll turn her into a Demon too.”

“Thank you, sire! I couldn’t be more grateful!” Lucas bowed deeply at Sam’s generosity.

“No need. Anyway, let’s go now.” Sam waved his hand slightly.

“Go where?” Lucas asked while tilting his head.

“Down to the 5th floor,” Sam replied confidently. “It’s time to revive the Dragons.”
