250 BAI CHEN FELL UNCONSCIOUS
In the end, Bai Chen had to move his hand to grab Wu Jiang before using the hilt of the sword to hit Wu Jinhai’s forehead. The owner of the forehead screamed in pain, but Bai Chen didn’t want to care about that.
“You deserve it!” The Werewolf Prince coldly scolded the taller man.
Bai Chen’s face was red, and it was because of his anger and embarrassment. Wu Jinhai kept teasing him, so it was natural for him to feel embarrassed, right? Furthermore, Bai Chen was somehow convinced that Wu Jinhai’s feelings for him were genuine and that only worsened the situation in his heart as it kept pounding wildly for what he believed in.
Perhaps one would think that he was too naive to believe his feelings, but every time he looked straight into Wu Jinhai’s eyes, he could only see the tenderness and deep love in those pair of brown eyes, and that was why he was sure that the man did not lie to him about his feelings.
True, Wu Jinhai still didn’t openly say about his feelings, but Bai Chen somehow thought that his relationship with Wu Jinhai was deeper than he thought, and that was why he could feel everything even if the man didn’t say anything.
Was he too full of himself when he thought like that? It might be too risky when Bai Chen once again trusted Wu Jinhai, but he assumed that it would be fine because he would eventually try to find evidence of his assumption, and that was why he wanted to take it slowly as he would gather more information from the man in red.
“You can’t just use the crystal on Wu Jiang’s hilt to hit anyone, Bai Chen. What you do can damage the crystal.”
Bai Chen’s left hand was still holding Wu Jiang, and he turned his blue eyes toward the sword in his hand after hearing Wu Jinhai’s words. He was too annoyed with Wu Jinhai before, and he just wanted to punish the man quickly, and that was why he used the closest weapon to punish the man. Only now did he realize that he had indeed hit Wu Jinhai’s forehead with Wu Jiang’s hilt where the white crystal was placed on it.
From Ma Qiao, he learned about the importance of the crystal to werewolves, but he carelessly used the precious crystal to punish the man, and subconsciously, he brought his hand to rub the white crystal as if to apologize to the crystal.
.....
And surprisingly, a white light suddenly flashed from the crystal before enveloping Bai Chen’s hand which was still touching the crystal, and Bai Chen was dumbfounded by it. The light did not hurt him, on the contrary, he felt the warmth of the light, and he also felt comfortable having the light around his hand.
“W-what happened, Wu Jinhai? What kind of light is that?” Panicked, Bai Chen immediately questioned Wu Jinhai, but his wide blue eyes continued to stare at his hand which was still enveloped by a mysterious white light as if he was worried that the light would suddenly cut his hand into pieces.
Seeing how panicked Bai Chen was, Wu Jinhai’s expression suddenly became solemn, and his brown eyes were glued to Bai Chen’s hand. Bai Chen did sound panicked, but strangely, the Werewolf Prince didn’t immediately withdraw his hand from the sword. It was clear that Bai Chen felt comfortable having the sword nearby, and even when Wu Jinhai turned his gaze toward the man, he could see that the man somehow had a hint of peace on his face even if there was also a hint of panic there.
Maybe only Bai Chen didn’t understand what was going on with the sword, but Wu Jinhai wasn’t the same as he seemed to know everything. So, after a heavy sigh, the man in red finally stretched out his hand before carefully grabbing Wu Jiang from Bai Chen’s grasp, and a white light immediately disappeared from the crystal right after the sword no longer made contact with Bai Chen.
Bai Chen’s pair of blue eyes witnessed what happened with the sword, and that was why the pair of blue beads widened in surprise before their owner turned to Wu Jinhai.
“What’s going on, Wu Jinhai? What light was that, and why did it suddenly disappear?” Bai Chen indeed couldn’t understand what was happening with the sword, and he only knew that his hand had lost the warmth he previously felt from the white crystal on the hilt of the sword, and he bewilderedly asked Wu Jinhai for an explanation.
The sword was in Wu Jinhai’s hand now, and the sword still recognized the man in red as its master even after Bai Chen became its new master. Therefore, Wu Jinhai was able to casually raise the sword until it was right in front of Bai Chen’s face.
“You want to know more about Wu Jiang, right?” Instead of answering, Wu Jinhai asked back as his hand was still holding Wu Jiang right in front of Bai Chen’s face.
The Werewolf Prince was confused when he saw how Wu Jinhai was oddly positioning Wu Jiang right in front of his face, but he still nodded his head in response to Wu Jinhai’s question.
It was just a nonverbal reply from the man in white, but the answer seemed to be enough for Wu Jinhai, and the black-haired man finally opened his mouth to speak again, “If you want to know more about Wu Jiang, then you should close your eyes now. You will know everything after closing your eyes.”
Closing his eyes meant that Bai Chen wouldn’t be able to see anything, and it would be dangerous for him if Wu Jinhai tried to harm him. That was why he looked doubtful as he continued to stare at the taller man, but all he could see from the man was a genuine smile as if encouraging him to believe in the man.
Wu Jinhai looked harmless, and the man also appeared as if he posed no threat. Perhaps that was the reason why Bai Chen decided to trust the man, and he finally closed his blue eyes to obey the man’s orders.
Wu Jinhai’s smile grew wider after seeing how Bai Chen decided to believe him, and without saying anything, he slowly pushed Wu Jiang’s hilt closer to Bai Chen’s forehead until the white crystal touched the man’s skin, and suddenly, white light once again radiated from the crystal before piercing through Bai Chen’s forehead.
Bai Chen fell unconscious.
