First, I need to make medicine to act as a base.
Mixing things like this can often be dangerous, but I try to picture what would happen if I combined them with the Alchemy, I mean, Creation skill.
What I have in mind is a full potion. Something with the effect to heal everything, HP, MP, and SP.
I feel like my strength is suddenly sapped from my body, and the light in my hand gets increasingly brighter.
When it finally settles, I see one bottle in my hand. Casting Appraisal on it tells me it’s exactly what I pictured, a full potion.
“M-master, what was that!?”
Asks Yor with a surprised tone as she comes closer.
I open my mouth to respond, but I’m assaulted by fatigue. My status screen shows me that I lost not only MP, but a lot of HP and SP too.
I let out a big sigh, and keep staring at the status screen. I don’t think I’ve ever lost this much HP. Well, I don’t check it during battles, so maybe I’ve actually lost more.
“…It’s something like Alchemy, that I wanted to try.”
I should probably only make another one after I recover.
I just used a skill all of a sudden, but it didn’t really attract a lot of attention. I’m a little far from the others, but more importantly, everyone other than the ones keeping watch are exhausted and sleeping.
Apparently Yor just woke up too, and focused on me because she saw me start to work on something.
“What was that, Sora?”
Chris and the others are here too. It looks like they’re done taking the cockatrice apart.
I take the items and put them in the Item Box.
“That was Alchemy. I’ll be working on this for a little longer, so you can go ahead and rest. And then you can take over for Sera and Hikari and let them rest.”
“…Are you all right Sora? I have to be honest, you look sick.”
Rurika sounds worried, and I’m guessing the recoil from using the skill is showing on my face.
“I haven’t used this skill before, so I didn’t know how much power to use. I think it’ll be fine next time.”
I’m not actually sure that’s true, but I keep that part to myself.
“All right, then I’ll go rest. You too, Mia.”
“Yes. What about Chris?”
“…Chris will stay and keep an eye on him. You should rest first, because I’m sure using all that holy magic made you tired.”
Says Rurika, as she takes Mia away. It’s like she’s forcing her to rest. Chris can’t be that pushy, so I’m glad Rurika is here.
But more importantly, I need to retrieve the cockatrice corpse. And so I do that, and by the time I come back, I’ve recovered about eighty percent.
“What are you making with that?”
“Is it a cure, master?”
Ask Chris and Yor.
“I can’t really explain it, but… Basically, I’m making potions for everyone first.”
There are six petrified people in total. Ah… It’s not going to be enough.
“Do you still have one of each potion?”
I ask, and Chris hands them to me. That should do it. It would be better if I had more just in case, but… I’ll just have to really try to make it work.
And so, I wait until I’m fully recovered, and make another full potion. This time it doesn’t take as much out of me. It only takes away ten percent, which I recover soon after, even though it still makes me a little tired.
“Using this as a base… Hikari?”
“Hn? What is it master?”
“Can you scrape a small piece out of this magic stone? About the size of the nail of your little finger. I need six of them for now.”
“Got it.”
She infuses her mithril dagger with magic energy and starts working on scraping the cockatrice magic stone. It takes a bit of time to make magic energy flow, but she finishes pretty quickly.
“Thanks.”
“Hn? Are you making a cure?”
“That’s the idea. Wait, shouldn’t you be keeping watch?”
I ask Hikari, who looks like she’s intending to stay here and watch. She says it’ll be fine for just a bit.
Well, Presence Detection doesn’t show anything, so I guess she can stay.
I get a container and place the magic stone inside, one of its pieces in the petrification bag… And some liquid comes out. I pour that on the full potion, and activate the Creation skill.
I feel like I lost even more than before.
I just feel something leaving me, but I don’t know what exactly.
Maybe it’s because of the bright light in my hand, but my vision becomes hazy, and I can’t see.
At the same time, I feel nauseated and throw up. I feel even more coming up from my stomach, but this time I stop it when it gets up to my throat.
My stomach feels like it’s jumping around inside me, but I bear with it until it stops.
I don’t know how long it goes on for, but eventually all that stops, and once it dies down, my vision returns.
My head feels a little hazy, like there’s a mist hanging over my thoughts, and my body feels heavy.
And in my hand, there’s a bottle.
I let out a sigh of relief and use Appraisal on it.
【Nameless petrification cure】Effect, cures petrification. Quality, high. Incomplete item.
I notice it says incomplete, but then I hear people call out to me.
“Sora…”
“Master…”
“Master…”
And then they ask me if I’m all right.
At first I don’t get why they’re asking, but then I see blood where they’re pointing.
“Master, you threw up earlier.”
Says Hikari.
I’m still confused, but then I look to the side and see Chris is holding me so I don’t fall.
Then I check the status screen, and see my HP is less than twenty percent, and both my MP and SP are zero.
Not only that, but even though Natural Recovery Boost should be working, my values are going up slowly. Is it like just after that fight earlier? No, it’s even slower.
“Sora, you can’t go on. Your face is really pale. Please go rest.”
“She’s right. You came all the way out here too.”
“Rest master. I’m not going away until you sleep.”
Hikari hugs me and looks up at me from below.
Her eyes are trembling, and it’s painfully clear that I’m worrying her.
I guess I’m not making the second one in this state anyway.
“All right. I’ll end it here for today.”
And as if those words cut whatever was keeping me up, I lose consciousness.
