Technically Jianyu was sitting on the couch while Xiu Mei was sitting on his lap while he was trying to make her understand his viewpoint.

"I'm sorry; I should have not been rude to you." Resting his head on the crook of her neck, he said. "Mei, please don't think about going back to Country Y. No matter what, I won't let you go there again"

She frowned hearing him, "I-I…"

"I know you want to go there to investigate everything. Right?" When he didn't receive any response from her, it was a default yes for him. She heard him talk again, "Mei, I almost lost you once in that country, please don't do anything reckless that I might end up losing you again. Last time I survived the ordeal of living without you because my feelings were unknown to me. But now I can't imagine my life without you. That enemy is still lurking in the dark, what if he again…." Unable to speak anything further his hug tightened around her.
