"What do you think of Xion?" Zeng Shihong suddenly asked her.  Although he didn't dwell on the matter when she told him that the medicine was given to her by a man, he cannot stop himself from being worried about her. What if she was involved with a wrong man? She is just a child after all. That's what he thought….

"Good life partner!? He would be the best life partner a woman can get"... actually second best. The first best is my monster hubby' She answered at once but corrected the sentence inwardly, feeling mushy-mushy in heart thinking about Feng Jianyu.

Zeng Shihong saw her smiling to herself. He nodded at her words and the very next moment he dropped the bomb over her head, "In that case, Zeng Shihong's granddaughter deserves the best. How about you become the wife of this best life partner?"

"I know you were not prepared, but a topic like this comes suddenly. And I think it's the right time" Despite the doubtful expression he answered patiently. If a moment ago she was looking straight into his eyes now she seems more interested in the color of grass.

"How can it be the right time when I'm yet to finish some uncompleted task? Moreover, Xion and I are..." She stopped upon not finding the correct word to define their relationship.

"Xion and you are what?" He frowned, picking the honey from the try as offered by the housekeeper and bring a spoon near her lips. "Tell me, you both are what?"

She licked the honey, "You know what our relationship is; it cannot be summarized in a few words. It's something beyond one's understanding. You can call it with any name except the one that's in between lovers" Her smile completely dropped, even the sweet taste of honey could not bring it back…. Of course, except a certain someone.

"It's alright if you didn't think of him as a lover or life partner but I'm sure you can try giving a chance to him and yourself. Feelings will eventually develop as you'll both start seeing each other as a potential life partner. Isn't the marriage and love thing work like this? I think you..." He stopped upon seeing her shaking her head like a rattle drum.

"Nooo… Just drop the thought, forget about it. Everything is possible in this world, but Xiu Mei and Lu Xion as a couple…NEVER…... And why did you even proposed this to me, I'm sure even Xion would never agree on it"

"Don't worry about Xion, Gingxin and I'll talk to him. I'm sure even he'll think rationally"

"Does this mean I'm not thinking rationally?"

Zeng Shihong tried to convince her, "I'm not forcing you but asking you to try. You both need each other's support"

"That's what you think" She retorted firmly. "Forget about Xion I'll never accept anyone else as my life partner. Love happens only once, for Xion it was Meiying's love and for me it's Fe….."

Xiu Mei stopped mid-way, swallowed hard when she realized what she was about to say. But her little action didn't go unnoticed from the experienced eyes of the old man.

Zeng Shihong became quite for a long time. He raised one brow, finally, she spilled some beans. "Little Mei, I hope you'll answer my next question truthfully." He was her only blood-related Kin, her grandfather….
