I stood across from him after we had agreed to start at a set distance away from each other, my party having already joined the crowd of onlookers under my instruction.

The axe guy nodded at me, "I am Rogar. What is your name?"

I nodded back at him, "Hello Rogar, I'm afraid that I cannot give you my name because of some circumstances. I hope you understand."

"I see. Very well then."

We got another guy to start the fight and he was holding his hand up in the air, prepared to cast the fireball that would signal the start of the fight.

Both of us showed the guy that we were ready and he chanted the spell before shooting the ball of fire into the air.

The moment the ball exploded, Rogar leapt towards me, clearing half the distance in a single leap.

As for me... I was still trying to come up with the best way to end this fight.

Should I hit him with magic? Or maybe use my sword? Or maybe I should just use my fists?

Argh, decisions, decisions...

By that time, Rogar was just a few steps away from me and he raised his axe over his shoulder before making the final leap towards me.

Hmm... I guess since he prides himself in his strength, the best way to very convincingly defeat him without question is to beat him in the very stat he prides himself in.

He swung his axe down towards me, the weapon almost as big as I was tall.

I reached one hand up casually and caught the axe by the shaft, stopping its downward swing completely, the blade of the axe stopping just a few centimetres away from cutting into my shoulder.

There was a loud crash as the ground beneath my feet cracked from the impact and a shockwave even blew up around me, blowing towards the crowd and causing several of them to take a few steps back.

I held still and it took everyone a few seconds to comprehend the sight in front of them where I had stopped his axe that he swung with both hands with just one hand.

Rogar's eyes widened and he seemed to realise the difference in our strengths when his axe wouldn't even budge after he leaned even more of his weight on top of his weapon.

I thought that he might despair or at least show a face of anger or denial. Instead, what I got was a gleeful smile and his eyes even lit up in anticipation.

"Ahahahaha! This... This is the best!" He yelled, lifting up his foot in an attempt to deliver a straight kick towards my abdomen.

I raised my own foot and caught his kick with my shin, blocking it without moving back an inch.

Unfortunately for him, he was not fast enough as I swung his own axe to smash the shaft into his side and send him flying back for the fourth time.

He crashed into the ground and rolled all the way back to where he had started, the battle maniac using the momentum to roll back onto his feet and into a half crouch.

At the rate this fight was going, I don't think he would surrender voluntarily even if he knew that he was unable to beat me or even my match at all.

I guess I would really need to incapacitate him.

I threw his axe back towards him which he caught in his hands before I gave him a come hither motion, daring him to charge towards me once more.

He grinned and accepted the challenge, rushing towards me once again with his axe held with both hands.

"[Body Strengthening]! [Axe Smash]!" He roared, just as he got within range of his weapon.

A soft glow enveloped his body and I saw a translucent light wrap around his body like an armour while his axe also glowed the same way.

The speed of his axe swing also seemed to increase as it swung down towards me in an attempt to smash me into the ground.

Too bad for him, I was still faster.

I clenched my fist and delivered an uppercut to his chin, punching him up into the air and sending him airborne once more.

welcome-to-NovelFire

He let out a cry of pain before his eyes rolled to the back of his head, falling unconscious even before he even reached the apex of his flight and falling back down onto the ground.

There was a loud crash as his unconscious form bounced on the ground once before landing a few feet away from me.

At least this time he did not let go of his axe and it remained by his side even while he was unconscious.

I turned to the guy who was supposed to act as the judge for the fight and he quickly recovered.

"Wi... Winner!" He shouted, swinging his arm to point in my direction.

The idiot who had been standing behind the judge looked at the unconscious Rogar with wide eyes, taking a few seconds to register what had happened and...

He started to run away.

Tsk, tsk. Typical.
