Chapter 15 - Regret

Mr. Ahmed left Lisa in that apartment and returned home with Ruhan. Of course he left some of his bodyguards.

Although he used the excuse that it was for her safety, both Ruhan and Lisa understood that it was to watch over her, in case she tried to act smart.

Lisa scolded him inwardly. 'This old man is really difficult to deal with. How dare he imprison her like this? This is a free country ok?'

Ruhan also had to face same fate. He was locked in his room with several guards watching over him. His father even confiscated his phone so that he couldn't contact anyone to remove the traces of his crime.

Ruhan really felt unlucky for having such a smart father. If he hadn't taken away his phone, Ruhan would have contacted his partner in crime, his friend Jahid. Who could easily kill her and make it look like a suicide.

But now...all he could do was wait.

The night was sleepless for both of them.

Next morning, Lisa went to Mr. Ahmed's house with her family. Her family didn't want to bring Liton as he was very sick. But he threatened that he would take a taxi to go there if they didn't take him. Thus, Mr. and Mrs. Akter had to agree.

Whole Ahmed family was waiting for them. Mr. Ahmed's face was exceptionally dark.

Last night he used all his resources to dig out what had happened in these few months. And what did he find out?

Ruhan had used his connections and power to suppress LiCorp. He was responsible for their bankruptcy. If he was the one behind their bankruptcy then why would he offer to help Lisa?

If what Lisa said was true, that means Ruhan did what he did because he wanted to act as a hero to save the beauty, to earn Lisa's trust.. in short...to get laid.

Just thinking about it made Mr. Ahmed's blood boil. He had painstakingly built his connections so that one day they would come in handy, whenever they are in REAL NEED.

Who knew that his capable (?) son will exploit them like this?

Doesn't he know that these connections are not real friendship?.. Rather they follow give and take policy.

You can not ask for too much favor without promising something in return.

And that fellow wasted it on a girl!!!!!! Seriously???

How could Mr. Ahmed's heart not ache?

On the other hand..The Akters also greeted them with a gloomy face.

Last night when Lisa explained everything to them..at first they thought she was just messing....they just couldn't believe that their daughter would do something like this.

All of them were blaming themselves for not educating Lisa properly.

They had always been very much protective of Lisa,

shielded her from the ugliness of the society.

Which made their baby girl so innocent(?) that she always saw the best in people.

This must be the reason why she fell for Ruhan's sweet talk!

All of them were cursing Ruhan.

Liton wanted to beat the crap out of Ruhan. But relatively calm Mrs. Akter prohibited him for doing something excessive.

If they accepted this marriage then Lisa would have to live in that house.

If Ruhan was manhandled by them, who knows, they might vent it on Lisa.

The situation would become much more unfavourable for her.

Now all they could do was talk to Lisa about life.

It took almost 3hours to reach Ahmed's Residence.

And every second was utilized by them to scold Lisa and properly educate her.

And Lisa... She was pretending to listen to them...while her mind had already drifted away to plan for her next move.

Truth be told..something inside her was forbiding her to take this step...but the stubborn girl in her wanted to get back at Ruhan for targeting her.

Her parents don't know the whole story...she can not let them know the truth..

If they came to know that their innocent baby girl had already turned into a scheming girl, how hurt would they be?

'No'...Lisa's pupil constricted... she must hide everything well. She can not destroy the beautiful image that her family has of her.

And the darkness..that is reserved only for her.

Both of the family didn't say anything for a long time.

After a while..Mrs. Ahmed felt awkward and coughed.. Mr. Ahmed also came out of his daze. He could curse Ruhan later on but now he had to entertain the guests.

"Mr. And Mrs. Akter, I hope Lisa already told you why we all have gathered here. In fact..this news shocked us as well. Please pardon us... we didn't teach our son well that lead us to this mess. but we can not allow this matter ruin their lives...they are our children after all..so we invited you here today to discuss this matter."

Mr and Mrs Akter looked at each other. Although Mr. Ahmed blamed Ruhan for this mess..but didn't he indirectly scold Lisa too? Afterall if she hadn't agreed, the marriage wouldn't have taken place, right?

Liton gritted his teeth, 'This old fox is really good at shifting blame. How dare he blame his little sister like this? She was too innocent to see through Ruhan.. ok?'

"There is no point in blaming each other. We have to find out a solution", Mrs. Akter was relatively calm.

Although she didn't want someone like Ruhan to be her son-in-law, things have already progressed too far.

"The solution is simple, we will have to give them proper wedding", Mr. Ahmed declared.

Ruhan became restless... he wanted to say something... But Mr. Ahmed shot him a threatening glare. Ruhan shrank back and looked at his mother as if he had been wronged.

Mrs. Ahmed sighed helplessly. She really couldn't help him this time.

Mr. Akter was still hesitating. They had always pampered Lisa and treated her like apple of their eyes. They didn't even notice when their little girl had grown up. Naturally they didn't teach her anything regarding marriage and how to get along with in laws.

If it was another family, then it wouldn't be any problem. But he had heard that the Ahmed family was very strict and traditional.

Moreover, Ruhan wasn't the kind of person Lisa could rely on. Would Lisa be able to adjust here?

But Lisa had already married Ruhan..if they got divorce now, then it would be difficult for Lisa to remarry. Not to mention it would be detrimental to her reputation.

Mr. Akter measured the pros and cons of the situation..he understood that he had to agree to this marriage proposal.

"You are right. The wedding should take place as soon as possible. We don't have any opinions. We will leave the rest to you", Mr. Akter gave the responsibility to Mr. Ahmed. He wasn't good at arranging events anyway. And Liton was too sick to do heavy jobs like this.

" The wedding will take place next Friday." Mr. Ahmed didn't want to delay anymore. He knew that Ruhan would try to do something to sabotage this marriage.

And he wasn't wrong. Ruhan was really thinking about sabotaging the marriage. When he heard that the wedding would be held so soon...he couldn't help but scold his father.

'Damn it..the bride is not running away ok? Do you have to be that impatient?'

Mrs. Akter also protested, "Isn't it too soon? We won't be able to prepare for anything".

Even if they didn't have many close relatives, at least they needed to buy gifts for members of Ahmed family. Otherwise Lisa might be criticised at their in laws house! How can they manage everything within 7days?!!!

"The wedding will be low key and only families will be invited. Later we will give them grand reception when the time is appropriate. You don't have to worry...we will not wrong your daughter in our house", Mr. Ahmed assured her.

Mrs. Ahmed bit her lips. That is not how she wanted her eldest son to marry. She had many dreams and hopes.

But what can be done? Everything was spoilt by her own son. She couldn't help but feel disappointed.

Lisa scoffed. 'Won't be wronged?!! Marrying him is the greatest wrong that can happen to me. How can that promiscuous, dirty man be worthy of my husband? I don't like second hand things. Ok?'

She couldn't help but glare at Ruhan. It was all his fault. It he hadn't targeted her then she wouldn't have to take this step. Her parents also wouldn't be disappointed in her.

She could never forget when she told them the same lies she had told Mr. Ahmed. At first they couldn't believe that Lisa could do something like this. Mrs. Akter cried all night and blamed herself for not teaching her daughter better.

Lisa's heart ached greatly seeing her mother blaming herself like this. She would prefer her parents scolding her...even beating her to crying like this.

Just thinking about this made Lisa's blood boil.

'Mr. Ruhan Ahmed, you just wait. The pain my parents had to go through, I will return 100fold..You will regret that you had ever approached me ', Lisa promised to herself.

What she didn't know that Ruhan was thinking about the same thing like her.

He looked at Lisa as if he was looking at his prey.

'Ms. Lisa Akter. Welcome to my territory..You wanted to be Mrs. Ruhan Ahmed didn't you? Let's see if you can handle being my wife. If I don't make you regret your decision then this young master is not called Ruhan Ahmed.'
