Chapter 38 - What the hell!!!

Lisa returned home after shopping and watching movies with a cheerful mood.

Siam was like a ticking time bomb. She had no idea how he would react after hearing about their marriage. Fortunately he was a rational person. He didn't make a big fuss out of it. After today's conversation Lisa knew that he would calm down for the time being.

She knew very well what he was thinking. He wanted to make her his eyes and ears in the Ahmed family, so that she could pass on valuable informations.

'Dream on!' Lisa thought to herself. She would never let anyone take advantage of her. Besides, she had to leave a pathway of retreat for herself. Mr. Ahmed might ignore her childish retaliation against Ruhan. But he would never forgive if she jeopardised the security and privacy of the family. She knew her limit very well.

Lisa didn't mind to borrow Siam's hand to teach Ruhan a lesson. But she would never touch anyone else in the family or act as an spy.

She knew very well that although it seemed like Siam was targeting Ruhan due to a personal grudge, in reality it was a battle between two prominent families. If the two families ended up destroying each other, it would be better. She could easily escape from this marriage.

Even if they weren't destroyed, Lisa could easily divorce Ruhan whenever she wanted. Afterall, she had thousands of evidences of his love affairs! Only one was enough to confirm divorce. She never intended to spend her whole life with him.

Thinking about her marriage, her mood became complicated. She never had any boyfriend and she always maintained distance from boys. Her characteristics made everyone think that she was cold and not a marriage material. But no one knew that she actually valued marriage very much. She would always watch her parents and think that how great would it be if her relationship with her husband was just like her parents'. Even if he didn't pamper her like her own family, if they had friendly and harmonious relationship, she would be satisfied. This was also the reason why she agreed to marry Miraz. He was her childhood friend afterall.

She never thought that one day..she would consider divorce. But.. she had no other choice. She valued marriage but she valued her life more. She could not jeopardise her happiness by staying with Ruhan. She hated this cold war, scheming the most.

Every second she spent in this house was a test for her.

Everytime she changed her dress or went to washroom she had to confirm that there was no hidden camera inside. She knew that she was being paranoid. But news about uploading vulgar photos and videos online as a form of revenge has become really common. Lisa knew that she had really angered Ruhan. Although he wouldn't kill her, she couldn't rule out the possibility that he could retaliate against her in this shameful way. She had to be careful.

But it was really exhausting and difficult to live with an enemy. It took a lot of mental strength. She could persist for 2-3 months, even 1year..but she knew that she couldn't last long.

She had to act fast. She wanted to borrow the Ahmed's power to strengthen her new company and if possible..revive LiCorp before she divorced Ruhan. The money that they earned now was nothing compared to LiCorp.

After LiCorp began to deteriorate, Lisa began to understand the importance of power and money. Without power, even ants wouldn't give you any face while meeting you. And everyone would treat you like a prey.

The best example was Ruhan. If the Akter family was as influential as before, he would never have the courage to blackmail her to sleep with him. He did so because he knew that Lisa neither had the power nor money to oppose him.

Not only Ruhan, there were also many other people who looked at her greedily and their eyes looked like they would eat her alive. Sometime they would also hint her that if she 'cooperated' with them, they would increase their investment and help in her business. If it hadn't been for his father's loyal friends and workers protecting her, they might have made a move against her long ago.

Lisa had enough of it. She didn't want to be a prey waiting to be slaughtered anymore. She wanted to develop her own power. So no one else would have the audacity to disrespect her anymore. She didn't want to spend her time carefully and in fear. She wanted her carefree life back where she didn't have to worry for money or security. And the Ahmed family would provide the means to get back what once belonged to her!!!

Thinking about these things, she entered into her room absentmindedly. As soon as she entered the room, she was rendered speechless!!

"What the hell!!!!"
