Ruhan met with Tuli on the appointed date in the same restaurant. Then she thanked him politely.
"Just thanks? " Ruhan acted as if he was hurt. You celebrated your promotion that day with your friends. The least you could do was treat me with coffee."
"That..." Tuli was happy inwardly. But she showed some hesitation. Afterall, she didn't want to appear like an easy girl.
"Stingy" Ruhan pouted. He also knew that Tuli would agree. He had been with countless girls. Of course he could tell what she was thinking. If she really didn't want to get acquainted with him, she would have paid him back online.
"You.." Tuli showed him fake anger and sighed to admit defeat. Then she ordered a coffee and had small conversation. She really enjoyed his company. She rarely had any friend she could be comfortable with. Probably because he was an unknown person, so Tuli didn't have to put on her mask to keep her image. That's why she could enjoy her time with him.
They left on a friendly term that day. After that Tuli would often meet him on the same restaurant. Everytime they would end up having great time together.
After a while they came to a tacit understanding. Tuli would 'accidentally' reveal her plans to Ruhan. Ruhan would also 'coincidentally' appear at that place.
Both of them knew that their actions were seen through, but they pretended to be dumb. It seemed like a good game. They were dating but at the same time they weren't. Tuli felt like Ruhan liked him but he didn't propose to her officially. Of course Tuli would never take the initiative to propose him either. Afterall that job belonged to a man.
After a while Tuli noticed that everytime she mentioned her officework or her boss, there would be traces of sadness in Ruhan's eyes. Sometimes he would give a wry smile.
At first Tuli would ask him if there was anything wrong. But Ruhan would shake his head and hide his feelings.
Tuli also didn't pressure him. She respected his privacy.
Eventually Tuli became even busier. Her boss Lisa had taken over multiple jobs. She worked overtime every other day. And as her secretary, Tuli also had to suffer. But she didn't complain. Afterall she would be paid for the extra hours. But she couldn't neet Ruhan as frequently as before.
Tuli often wondered how nice it would be if Ruhan worked in the same office with her. Such thoughts began to take deep roots in her mind. So one day she couldn't control herself and suggested Ruhan to go on an interview in Ahmed Corporations.
According to Ruhan, his father was a businessman. So it was unlikely that Ruhan would be willing to work at other people's company. But she had to try at least once. Afterall the experience he could gather from Ahmed Corporations would be valuable for his own company as well. Right?
Tuli really thought that her suggestion was helpful for Ruhan. But who knew that once she gave her idea to Ruhan, he suddenly lashed out at her. His anger and outburst greatly startled me.
"Whether I work at Ahmed Corporations or any other day office is entirely my personal matter. You don't have to interfere with my affairs." Ruham gritted his teeth and said icily. He then drove off his car rudely.
Tuli was startled and at the same time felt really wronged. She was thinking on behalf of him. Did he really have to insult her like this.
She clenched her fist tightly. It seemed that she made herself too much available to Ruhan. So he began to take her for granted.
That night Tuli returned her home with spoilt mood and turned off her phone. She was determined not to forgive Ruhan that easily.
So, she began to vent her anger on her laptop and buried herself in her work. She was already approaching a deadline. Sje had to show her best performance in order to get promoted.
Afterall, spending time on work was better than wasting it on any man.
