Chapter 80 - Another Sacrifice

"This..." Tuli looked at Lisa with ashen face.

"As you can see, if a permanent employee wanted to leave the office before 5years, they had compensate the company with money. Since you have worked here for only seven months, your compensation would be equal to your 4 years and 5months salary."

Lisa looked at her condescendly.

"Madam, we both are women. Do you have to make things difficult for me? You know that I am helpless. As a newlywed, would my in-laws allow me to stay separately from her husband?" Tuli acted really pitiful. If it would have been anyone else, his/her heart would have really softened.

But unfortunately, her opponent was Lisa. She was very considerate towards others as long as it wouldn't be detrimental to her.

Tuli's resignation would hinder her pathway. So Lisa would never let her resign.

Lisa spread her hands helplessly. "It's not that I don't understand your difficulties. I do understand it. But you should understand mine to. The project is going to start soon. Thousands of eyes are staring at us. Moreover, as my secretary, you have knowledge about many sensitive informations. I can not let you resign at a moment like this."

"I am sorry madam..." Tuli gave an aggrieved look. But she didn't dare to force Lisa.

'Never mind' she though, 'I would just let Ruhan pay for the compensation. He didn't lack money anyway.' thinking about this, Tuli's mood lightened.

Lisa gave her a displeased look and dismissed her. But she didn't pay anymore attention.

If Lisa had been in her calm state, she would have noticed Lisa's abnormality long ago. But unfortunately she was not. She was busy like hell. She lacked sleep and rest. Her mind was filled with the upcoming project. So her brain automatically ignored other things.

Damn it! Lisa massaged her forehead. Habbit is a vey bad thing. If it had been before, she would manage this project easily. But after LiCorp went bankrupt and she spent almost a year idling around, she had become lazy and was not as efficient as before.

'I shouldn't have ignored my works. I should have paid attention to the market and recent news.' Lisa lamented.

However, there is no point in regretting. After scolding herself for a while, she began to work again. She really missed Mina, her previous assistant.

Meanwhile, Tuli went to the washroom and made sure that no one was there. Then she immediately called Ruhan.

Ruhan had just finished his meeting with Jahid and was returning home. He picked up the phone and smirked, "Miss me already? "

"Miss your head" Tuli wasn't in the mood to play with Ruhan.

"What's the matter? Who made you unhappy? " Ruhan faked anger.

"Your beloved wife." Tuli gritted her teeth, "She wouldn't let me resign. She said that according to the contract, I would have to pay heavy compensation in order to resign."

"What? " Ruhan was startled. But I had specifically asked you about this matter. You assured me that you could resign at anytime. Now from where did this clause pop out?

As Ruhan never worked at the main branch, he never knew about their unique contracts.

"How was I supposed to know that your wife was this cunning? " Tuli gritted her teeth. She would never admit that the fault was actually hers. It was her own foolishness to not go through the clause carefully.

"That woman." Ruhan suppressed the anxiety in his heart and spoke in a calm voice. "Never mind, if she won't let you resign then don't resign."

"But....can't you pay for the compensation? " Tuli didn't want to stay here. This place was a ticking time bomb. She wanted to run far away.

"If you really insist on resigning, she would become suspicious. That won't be wise." Ruhan tried to reason with her.

"Then what should we do? " Tuli also knew that he was right. So she didn't make things difficult for him.

"Just stay there. I will protect you and just find some evidences that would prove that you are innocent." Ruhan comforted her.

"Can you really do that?" Somehow Tuli doubted his capability.

"Are you underestimating me darling? " Ruhan said with faint anger. How dare she look down on him!!!

"No! Of course not!" Tuli said hurriedly.

"Huh! Just wait and see how capable your boyfriend is." Ruhan said grumpily.

"Of course you are the best." Tuli chuckled. Her mood became lighter. "Good bye."

After Tuli hung up the phone, Ruhan's expression became serious.

Jahid had always considered the possibility that Lisa wouldn't let Tuli resign. Naturally he also had a solution for that. And that was to sacrifice their pawn.

It's just that....he didn't want to make this game too serious.

But it looked like, he had no choice... but to sacrifice his cinderella.
