Nothing is More Expensive than Free Stuff

Since the student council president agreed to help us, we decided to get down to business.

Takanashi-san and Kiniwa-san had traumatic experiences in junior high school, which is why they avoid the public stage.

I want Takanashi-san to be the student council president, but I don’t want to force her.

That’s why I took the initiative.

And one more thing. Kiniwa-san’s presence is essential to bring out the full potential of Takanashi-san.

After explaining that much, I decided to explain my plan to pull Takanashi-san to the stage.

There was no point in me just running for the position of secretary of the student council.

If I didn’t get Takanashi-san on board before the student council election started, she wouldn’t be able to make it in time for the election.

That’s what I wanted to talk to the student council president about.

“I’d like to help with the student council.”

That’s what I told the student council president.

The plan was to get Takanashi-san and the others interested in the student council by me helping their work.

“If I help the student council, Takanashi-san and Kiniwa-san-san will be curious. And that leads to interest.”

Only a little at first. I’ll gradually increase my involvement with the two of them as I see how they are doing.

It takes time and a lot of gambling, but I think it’s the most effective way to get them interested.

“I see.”

The president nodded after listening to my explanation.

“I hope that Takanashi-san, who makes Amane-chan go that far, will join the student council.”

And she said so with a serious expression.

I want Takanashi-san to become the student council president, but that’s not all.

If she doesn’t overcome the trauma of her junior high school days, she may continue to avoid standing above others.

Kiniwa-san will have to live with the guilt.

I’m not good at standing above others. I’m not good at telling people what to do.

Despite this, the camp ended up being a huge success because Takanashi-san brought everyone together and Kiniwa-san backed me up.

When I saw the two of them, I knew they couldn’t go on like this.

“I understand. The student council will fully cooperate with Minazuki Amane. Even so, I’m the one who really needs your help.”

Then the president smiled.

All right, then, all we have to do is to work slow and steady.

“Wait a minute.”

Yurizono-san raised her right hand and spoke up.

“That plan probably won’t work.”

Alice frowned at Yurien’s words but said nothing.

“What do you mean?”

The chairman asked Yurizono-san.

“It’s not natural for the student council to ask Amane-san to help them with their work. Why would they do that? Is the student council trying to draw Amane-san in? Is the student council trying to draw her in and use her popularity and influence to their advantage? What if people like that?”

I couldn’t help but let out a grunt at Yurizono-san’s words.

The chairman, who was listening to the conversation with a serious expression, nodded, saying, “Certainly.”

Yurizono-san is right. It’s unnatural for things to suddenly turn out that way, and if they think the student council is trying to take advantage of me, Takanashi-san and the others might get a bad impression of the student council instead of being interested in it.

I couldn’t tell them the truth even if I tried to explain, and if I made a bad excuse, it might turn out even worse.

“If that’s the case, you can just sacrifice me.”

“Eh?”

I was taken aback by Yurizono-san words.

Sacrifice? Yurizono-san?

“Yurizono Arisu has caused a lot of trouble to the people around her so far. As expected, the student council lost patience and ordered Yurizono Arisu to help the student council as a sign of reflection. When Amane learned of this, she felt responsible as a guardian and decided to help out with her. How about that?”

Yurizono-san, who was constantly causing trouble, was angered by the student council president, and as a punishment, she was ordered to help with the student council work, and I, who felt responsible, decided to help along with her.

It’s very convincing. It doesn’t feel out of place. It’s a wonder that this hasn’t happened before.

But then――.

“That’s a good idea, but if you do that, Yurizono Arisu, you’ll be dragging Amane-chan into this, and I think that could ruin your reputation with the students.”

The President said what I was thinking.

If it was Yurizono-san’s idea, Takanashi-san and the others would not have any doubts. On the contrary, there was a possibility that they would take pity on me for getting involved because of Yurizono-san and help me with my work.

On the other hand, there was a risk that Yurizono-san’s reputation would be ruined because of my involvement.

“So I said you’d sacrifice me. Also, don’t worry about me. Even if a thousand people hate me, as long as I can pay back Amane-san, I’m fine with that.”

Then Yurien-san looked at me sideways and smiled.

Paying back is……

“Tsk.”

Alice clicked her tongue, glared at Yurizono-san, but I don’t say anything and just stared at her.

I guess it’s hard to complain about Yurizono-san’s idea because it’s not a bad idea and she’s taking a certain amount of risk.

“Is there something you want me to do?”

That’s what I asked Yurizono-san.

She said something about paying me back, so I’m sure she’s up to something.

If that’s the case, it’s better to ask her what she wants first.

You don’t want to be told something outrageous later on.

“I won’t do such a wasteful thing as asking Amane-san for a favor. If I do that, the favor I’ve sold will be lost. That’s why I’ll leave the favor unpaid.”

Leave the favor unpaid…

If you say something like that, I’ll need to be wary to Yurizono-san.

Is that what you’re aiming for?

Alice looked unhappy, but she didn’t say anything.

There was no way I could say anything. Because she said that I don’t need to return the favor.

“It’s a little dangerous to be thought of as a nuisance to Amane-chan, but if you’re always causing trouble and always giving her trouble, she’s bound to think you’re at it again. And there are only a limited number of students who can complain to Yurizono Arisu, one of the two most beautiful girls in the world, face to face.”

The President raises her voice while staring at Yurizono-san.

I don’t know if I should agree with it, but I can say that it’s not, because Yurizono-san is certainly giving me a lot of trouble.

And no student can complain to Yurizono-san to her face…

“A student who can complain to me to my face. For example.”

“If it’s Takanashi Rinka, or…”

The chairman replied to Yuriyuono-san’s words.

Yes, Takanashi-san might scold Yurizono-san.

“Takanashi Rinka, who lectured me for causing trouble for Amane-san, saw Amane-san struggling because of me.”

“She’s going to get involved in the student council to help Amane-chan.”

“That would be ideal.”

Yurizono-san and the president are conversing and grinning at each other.

Seeing them together, Alice’s face turns red, her cheeks puff out, and she trembles.

Although Yurizono-san is usually silly, she is on equal footing with the president who is famous for her excellence.

Alice seems to be disappointed that she can’t join in the conversation between them.

I’ll pamper her later.

So we decided to adopt Yurizono-san idea, and the discussion was over.
