Chapter 25 – Sisterhood Sounds Difficult

The place fell silent when Kotone-chan appeared.

Only the background music in the coffee shop told us that time was still ticking. The old man who owned the shop looked at us with a peaceful expression. No, don’t stare at me like that.

“K-Kotone? Why are you here?”

Fujisaki-san, who has managed to reboot her system, raised a question. That’s what I was wondering too. What happened to her part-time job?

“Maybe it’s because I saw onee-chan and Yuji-senpai together. Anyway, alone with Yuji-senpai… What were you planning, onee-chan?”

Kotone-chan is smiling brightly. Her expression hasn’t changed at all.

But somehow…the air feels tense.

“Because it was something I didn’t really want other people to hear. There’s not a shred of worry that Kotone is thinking about.”

“What I’m thinking about? I don’t think I’ve told onee-chan that much about Yuji-senpai.”

“But I still know. I’m Kotone’s older sister.”

“I’m your little sister, but I don’t know what you’re thinking. If you know that Yuji-senpai and I are dating, why are you alone with him?”

They’re not shouting at each other. If it’s just the volume of their voices, they’re quiet.

But why does it keep heating up?

“Um…”

I called out to them, and they both looked at me at the same time. It was a bit scary.

“Isn’t it me that Fujisaki-san is taking issue with? Like, I can’t be recognized as a man dating her sister.”

“I…didn’t say that…”

But the attitude speaks for itself.

Well, I’d be concerned if my cute little sister had a boyfriend who I don’t even know where he comes from. I’ve been in the same class with Fujisaki-san for three years, though…

“I just thought…that both Kotone and Aida-kun had changed. And I mean that in a good way. I was happy to see Kotone happily making lunch.”

“Onee-chan…”

It looked like they were about to get into a fight, but they seem to have recovered.

I guess I shouldn’t have thought about it.

“But,” said Fujisaki-san, raising her eyebrows again.

“She can’t wear a maid uniform. And you gave that uniform which you’ve worn to Kotone as a present? That’s impossible!”

You’re right. There’s no excuse for this.

I’ve set myself up in a strange way, even if it was to pull off the relationship between Kotone-chan and the maid uniform. If I had a cute little sister, I certainly wouldn’t entrust her to someone who would give her a maid uniform that they themselves had worn.

“Maid uniform? A present?”

Kotone-chan is tilting her head.

Whoops. Kotone-chan didn’t hear what I said earlier. I just sacrificed myself for her, and it’ll be all for nothing if she says something unnecessary.

I made eye contact with Kotone-chan. I sent it with a strong gaze, asking her to match the story.

“Hmm.”

Kotone-chan’s gaze turned to the maid uniform on the table.

“Hey, onee-chan. You took something that belongs to me without my permission. Did you think I wouldn’t be angry?”

“Eh?”

Hey, the air is getting tighter again, isn’t it?

With a slow movement, Kotone-chan turned to face Fujisaki-san. Before long, the smile had disappeared from her.

“Even if you think it’s impossible, it’s important to me. On top of that, you’re trying to talk to my boyfriend about something without my permission… Did you think I wouldn’t really get angry?”

“That’s…”

Kotone-chan is amazing. She’s dominating Fujisaki-san.

Kotone-chan grabbed me by the arm and pulled me. Should I stand up? I can stand up, but isn’t she by herself dominating enough?

I got up from the chair and she put her arms around me. I couldn’t stop pounding with excitement at this bold move.

Fujisaki-san in front of me stopped completely, as if her heart had stopped beating. I feel like I’m cuckolding her girlfriend. Well, they are sisters…

“Yuji-senpai is my boyfriend. What we do is none of your business. You have no right to interfere.”

She pulled me with our arms crossed. Okay, now we walk.

“I can take care of myself. I can do that much. I’m not going to be your little sister forever.”

Fujisaki-san remained silent and listened to her sister’s words. Her expression was sad and lonely.

“…Yuji-senpai even challenged onee-chan, the girl who everyone thinks that she’s unbeatable no matter what she does. There aren’t as many people who will support me like that as you think there are.”

With those words as the last, I left the shop as Kotone-chan pulled me.

As much as I was concerned about the left-behind Fujisaki-san, I was even more concerned that I hadn’t paid for my iced coffee.
