Chapter 23: Professor Ayashiro's Dating Theory, Department Of Pure Love, Faculty Of Love!

Milan is getting nervous after being harassed. She scared, so she refuted it.
"Everyone's misunderstood in the first place! You don't have to actually experience things for a realistic play! Say, for example, you had a role as an astronaut! Do you think anyone would actually go to space to play the part? No one! Actors should use their own imagination to build their performances! So you don't have to have any experience in love to do a love play! I'm done with this! You don't need experience! Not for me!"
It's pathetic how quickly they ramble on and on. But then, our queen of cryptic logic, Ayashiro-sensei, mercilessly followed up.
"But you can't really pull off that act. If I may borrow your logic, it is not because of your experience in love, but because of your lack of imagination. And isn't your lack of imagination due to your lack of effort? You virgin woman!"
"Guh! A virgin? I'm a virgin? Noooooooo!!!!!!!"
Milan (virgin woman) kneels down and holds her head. I can only feel sympathy for her lamentation.
"The reason your male roles have a somewhat innocent air about them was because you reek of virginity. Virgin woman! That sounds wonderful! Oh!"
Virgin woman. What a terrible word. It's amazing that unlike virgins, they don't seem to have any value. I mean, I'm one of those, right? I only had one experience in my previous world, and now that I'm back, I'm a virgin in body. In spirit, I'm a second virgin. In my body, I'm a true virgin! It's making me cry!
"Ayashiro, it's time for you to follow up. I'm so pathetic I could cry too. Please save her."
"Eh? I wanted to play with her a little more. Well, that's okay. Your play fundamentally lacks imagination for love. That's why your play is good but boring. Then do you know what to do?"
Milan stood up with a wobbly, pale face.
"I'm going to get rid of my virgin, I mean virgin woman right now. Tokiwa... can we f*ck in the bathroom there? Haha, ahahaha... if it's for the play, I have no choice...!"
[TL: Too many crazy girl in this series.]
My sympathy grows more and more for Milan as she says this with empty eyes.
"Don't be hasty. If there's a way for you to avoid losing your precious virgin woman, I have it. If you're going to play an astronaut, you could do a zero-gravity flight in an airplane and experience weightlessness, which would give you the imagination you need for the play. In other words, you just have to have a simulated experience. Love is much easier. Milan. You should go on a date with Tokiwa this Sunday!"
Me, Yuzuriha and Milan were shocked. It's not that we have to be in love. It's not enough to fall in love, you just have to experience something close to love and imagine the feelings from there.
"That's a great idea! I want to go to the aquarium! Let's take the high road!
Yuzuriha says, sounding really happy. But you're not the one going on the date!
"I see. That's a great idea! Tokiwa! Can I ask you to do it!"
Milan's eyes are shining, perhaps because she has a glimmer of hope. Cute. It's nice, girls like this working hard toward their dreams.
"Well, I don't mind. Ayashiro, what are you going to do about the date?"
"Well, let's see. First of all. I'm worried about you, so I and Yuzuriha will be following you from behind on the day of the date. A virgin woman might get nervous and stiff on a date, so it would be better to have some support, right? Besides, it sounds like fun."
Sounds like she's really thinking about it back there. Well, I'm glad she's following me.
"And I want to see the ocean too! I dream of walking on a sandy beach with my boyfriend!"
That's why it's Yuzuriha! You are not even my date partner!
"Hmmm. An aquarium and the ocean...Enoshima Island fits the bill, I think. Let's go there. Tokiwa and Milan will decide where to go. Once you have decided, submit a report to me with your schedule of activities. I will correct it for you."
"Yeah. A report is so unappealing...! I don't want to call it a date!
I don't care that this is a university, but I don't think it's a good idea to make a date like a lecture exercise!
"You don't have a choice. If you don't make it emo, you might not get the imagination you need for acting. I'll add as much emo as I can from a third-person perspective. Besides, it is quite common in college for a man and a woman to work together on a report and find themselves dating. That experience can be a source of inspiration for your performance. Friendship does not exist between a man and a woman. Therefore, when a man and a woman do something together, it inevitably becomes a date."
"That's my queen of logic...! She's so persuasive...!"
I'm gradually starting to think that what Ayashiro is saying might be stubbornly true. Certainly, personally, I'd like to do a class report or something like that with two men and two women, waivering together. To be honest, science reports are so rigid with theorems and logic that it tends to get awkward if you do it with someone else. A vague theme such as date planning might be a good subject for a report because it can be done in a friendly manner.
"Professor Ayashiro! I am a young virgin, but I would appreciate your guidance and encouragement!"
Milan bowed deeply to Ayashiro.
"Yes! Leave it to me! I, Ayashiro Himena, professor of the Department of Pure Love in the Faculty of Love at the Imperial Capital University, will make you a good non-virgin woman!"
I found myself a professor. That's funny, because the last time I checked, it was the entrance ceremony!
"I'm Assistant Professor Momiji Yuzuriha of the Department of Contemporary Romantic Comedy in the Faculty of Romance at the Imperial Capital University, and I'm with you! Please leave it to me!"
I heard they're called assistant professors these days, not an assistant. But to be honest, the pecking order of university professors' titles is a mystery. I don't understand the difference between a specially-appointed professor, a professor emeritus, and an ordinary professor! To be frank, I don't care what it takes as long as they give me lenient credits! Thus, it was decided to give Milan a date for her performance.
And while practicing our acting, the two of us began to plan our date together. Strangely enough, after the date was set, Milan's performance immediately improved, if only slightly. Ayashiro, with a smug look on her face, told her, "Because even the anticipation of the date is part of love. The imagination gave the performance a certain luster." she said smugly. This could seriously make the performance great after the date. Maybe Ayashiro really is an authority on the study of love! Well, the Friday of the weekend soon arrived after such a fun day.
"I'm seriously amused by Ayashiro's stiff correction of my report."
Me and Milan were eating dinner at the school cafeteria, reading the date plan report that came back from Professor Ayashiro (lol).
"But it's some kind of very prestigious writing, and the knowledge seems genuine, this one. I mean, the methodology for increasing likability at various events is properly backed up by psychology and other literature!"
"It's amazing how the literature citation rules are like a real scientific paper. Is that girl really a first-year undergraduate? Is she actually in her first year of master's or doctoral studies? I wouldn't be surprised at all if she was a graduate student."
Well, that's not really true, but her education is very serious. Unlike someone who can only study, she seems to have great research skills. She seems to be a brilliant person.
"Tomorrow, the three of us are going shopping for Milan's date clothes, right?"
"Yes, we are! I've been wearing pants all the time. If we're going on a date, I'm going to look like a girl! I'm looking forward to it! I've always dreamed of shopping with a bunch of girls!"
Milan is smiling excitedly and happily. I can sense some darkness in her words, but let's not dwell on it for now.
"I see! I'm looking forward to it."
"Hehehe! I'm looking forward to it too!"
Smiling at each other and confirming each other's anticipation seemed like a lot of fun. It was probably somewhere close to an atmosphere of happiness. But then I heard a voice cut through it.
"Huh? Tokiwa, and Milan? Yoo-hoo! What are you doing?"
I turned toward the sweet, no-nonsense voice and saw my wife there, dressed in tennis wear. Behind her were my wife's friend, a girl who is a savvy type (which I hate), and the boys from the medical school who were by Hagiri's side during the commotion in the cafeteria the other day. They were all wearing tennis wear. I couldn't help but notice that I had become a bit of a reluctant face.
