Chapter 100: "On the Verge"
TL: Akabane

As soon as I reached Daikanyama, I got into the restaurant where Milan and her friends were drinking. The luxurious and spacious private room was the setting for this blind date. It was very much like a celebrity. I would never have thought of going to a place like that. Besides, Milan should have been able to avoid such a situation. But this time, she asked for my help. I thought Milan was probably having some kind of trouble. That worried me more than anything else.
"Sorry to interrupt your fun, everyone!"
I thought about playing some tricks on her, but I decided to take her away straight away. The beautiful men and women in the room all looked at me in surprise. I ignored them and stood behind Milan on the sofa and put my hand on her shoulder. Unlike usual, Milan was dressed very garishly. Her long silver hair was usually in a ponytail, but today she wore it straight down. The atmosphere was very mature. She is too good a woman to be left in a place like this.
"I'll take Milan home myself. I won't object."
The boys who were sitting opposite each other to the girls started complaining at once.
"What the hell are you, seriously?!"
"What the hell are you talking about?!"
"Who the hell do you think you are?! Get the hell out of here!"
"You can't take her with you!"
Apparently, all the boys are after Milan. So the girls knew and that's why they brought her along. I know surprise blind dates are common, but I don't approve of them for my people.
"Fufu. You really are a reckless person, aren't you? Ahaha."
Milan strokes my left hand, which is placed on her shoulder, with her right. The boys are twitching at that.
"What? Boyfriend? That's impossible, right? Milan is still a virgin, right? You just asked someone with a scary face to get out of a party, didn't you? No? Kyahaha."
I heard such laughter from among the girls. I turned my eyes and there was the idol (5) I saw on TV sometime ago.
"You were on the phone with someone when you went to the bathroom earlier, right? I heard you. It was just a play to get out, wasn't it? It's cold, isn't it? I mean, it's not like she has a boyfriend or anything coming to pick her up. Milan is a dollar seller who doesn't do kissing scenes in her act, right? Hey, hey, if you want to get out of here, why don't you two kiss in front of everyone! Kyahahaha! You can't do it anyway, can you? Because this is a play! You can't do it! Kyahahaha!"
I think Idol (5) has a seriously high incitement power. The air in the room changed. The boys seem to be underestimating me, and the girls are somewhat looking down on Milan. Milan's face was red and she was looking down. I felt sorry for her. Kissing in public isn't allowed, especially at an event like this. So instead, I'm going to muddy the waters in a way that's just like me and Milan.
"Kissing? Then watch. I'll make you regret it for sure!"
I make Milan's chin lift up.
"Kanata! Hey! I'm not going to let you do this here...hmm! Ah!"
I kissed Milan. But not on the lips. It was on her neck.
"Kanata! No! Ah...mmm...that tickles...ah...ah..."
I suck on her pure white neck. Sometimes I move my tongue inside my lips to torture Milan's neck. Each time I do this, her body trembles and she lets out a sweet sound. She looks at those around her as if somewhat embarrassed by us. They must have had a certain amount of sexual experience, but she is embarrassed by my caresses on Milan. Then I part my lips. A red hickey remains on her neck. She was breathing a little heavily and leaning against the back of the bed, her face ecstatic. She squeezed my hand.
"Can you guys make Milan look like this?"
I said to the boys. They looked down on the spot. I'm sure it's because they don't have the confidence to make that kind of face.
"Have you ever had a guy you like make you look like this?"
I said to the girls. They looked away awkwardly. I'm sure they've never had that experience.
"Only someone like that would get in our way. Now if you'll excuse me."
I pulled Milan by the hand and left the room. No one stopped us. Then I put Milan in the car and left Daikanyama.
In the car, Milan was fidgeting. We didn't talk to each other. We were filled with sweet afterglow. The air was filled with the possibility that something could go wrong.
"I've been taken home, haven't I?
Milan strokes the red hickey on her neck. The face is neat and tidy, but the smile is strangely lewd and sweet. Oh no. I'm so excited that if I see a sign for a love hotel in my field of vision, I might turn the steering wheel immediately. So I made a suggestion to calm her down.
"Let's see. I've got something I want to show you."
"Oh. Okay."
The car was already in Shimokita. But we parked the car not at my apartment, but at a coin-operated parking lot in the shopping arcade. We walked a little further and came to a building under construction.
"I want to show you something here."
"Yeah. Yeah. Whatever you're willing to show me."
Milan is entwined with my left hand. She looks somewhat preoccupied. Words can no longer reach Milan's ears. So I wake her up with what I'm about to show her. I enter the number, open the key, and go inside. Then I pass through the passageway and open the door. There it was.
"Kya? Is this...? A theater?"
"This is what I wanted to show you, Milan."
What was beyond the door was a hall-type theater. It wasn't very big, but it was a fine theater with a proper stage and seating.
"I promised you one day, didn't I? I'll build you your own theater. This is the first one."
"No way! Kanata! No way! You did this for me?"
Milan was surprised, holding her mouth with both hands. The empty air he had been in just a moment ago was now gone.
"I thought that was just a promise to cheer me up. You really did it! Oh, no. Is this even possible? Oh!"
Milan walked down the stairs of the hall. Then she walked to the front of the stage. From there, he turned around and looked toward the audience.
"It's a very beautiful theater...lovely."
"Right? I designed the interior. It's pretty elaborate. Construction was a lot of fun. Ahaha..."
I stand next to Milan and stare down at the tiered seating area with her. Milan has a smile that resembles elation on her face. Then she turned to me and extended her hands.
"Let me stand on top of the theater."
"Yeah. Sure."
I put my hands on either side of Milan and lifted her up and put her on the stage. Milan stood up and stared out at the audience from the stage. Her eyes seemed to sparkle.
"How do you like it? The view from there?"
"Yes. I can see a future where there will be a lot of people in the audience. Kanata. I'd like you to have a special seat there. Watch me. All of me."
I did as I was told and took a seat in the front row. Milan bowed and started to dance. Then she started to dance on the spot.
It was a very beautiful yet mysterious performance. There was no sound, no words, no singing. Yet I felt as if I could hear something like a song. I know that Milan's dance has the power to stir people's hearts. But today's performance was different. Instead of arousing me, it shook my heart, which was deeply and profoundly watching the performance. The shaking seemed to shake my body in a very pleasant way. Space is melting away, and time is melting away, a sweet and quiet euphoria. There is no end to the depths, and there is no binding of a story. There is only a pleasant sensation of everything losing its meaning. I sometimes feel a similar ecstasy when I am painting or designing. In this strange feeling of comfort, I naturally stood up and approached the stage. Milan, who was standing on the stage, also approached the audience. I stand up tall from the audience side right in front of the stage. Then Milan kneels down and reaches out her hands toward me and caresses my cheeks. And the next thing I know, our lips are pressed together. It was the "edge." We kissed through the transparent wall that separates the stage from the audience. We live in different worlds. But we could touch each other as much as we wanted at the edge. I felt a sense of happiness. Milan and I just continued to lock lips without exchanging a word.
After the performance, Milan was very limp. So I carried her on my back to my apartment. As soon as we entered the room, Milan took off her clothes and showered. When she came out, I handed her the traditional (laugh) jersey and I took a bath too. When I came out of the room after taking a shower, Milan was sleeping on the bed. I lay down next to her, hugged her tightly, and fell into a deep sleep.
When we woke up in the morning and we were eating breakfast together.
"It's weird. It's supposed to be my longed-for morning chun coffee. Isn't it kind of too refreshing? Fufufu."
"Yeah, I guess so. Well, you can save the sludgy morning coffee for next time."
"I guess so. I'm fine with being a virgin for a while. Hahaha!"
The coffee we drank together tasted so good.
***Author's musings***
Today's chapter is a meta-answer to Hagiri's deal in the previous chapter.
Also, I think the word "on the verge" is key.
Actually, they were going to kiss on the stage at first, but they settled on the form of kissing on the so-called transparent wall separating the stage and the audience. This, in my opinion, is a good and romantic way to do it.
So, overall, I feel that this was a chapter worthy of the 100th edition.
Also, we have passed the 2 million PV mark. We did it!
Please keep up the good work.
