The following day, Isaac stood in front of his wooden desk with his phone in hand. His thumb moved across the touchscreen.
He was currently texting with Luna, who talked about yesterday's mess. Her family became even more protective of her because they weren't sure whether she was being tricked or not.
They knew Isaac was knowledgeable of her illness. No one would want to date someone who could die at any moment, at least according to them.
He replied to her messages and said that he would talk with them in the future. Once done, he pocketed his phone and grabbed his plane ticket from the desk.
Today, Isaac was going to return back to Snowstar. Yesterday, his father surprisingly called Madison.
They had a lengthy two-hour discussion and, in the end, came to the conclusion that he should return to Snowstar.
After the phone call, Madison looked happy after talking with her son first time in over a decade.
Isaac slipped the plane ticket into his bag and used the zipper to close it entirely. Then, he turned off the light switch and left the room.
Soon, he reached the living room, where his grandparents were waiting. They gave him a hug and said he was always welcome to come back.
Isaac said his farewells and also received a gift from Malcolm. He gave him a necklace with a bear's fang hanging. It belonged to the bear Isaac killed.
He hung it around his neck and left the mansion after the final farewell.
Sebastian was already waiting for him with the car's trunk open. Isaac nodded at him and stored his bag inside the truck.
Then, he closed the trunk and sat down on the front seat. Once Sebastian entered the driver's seat, the engine revved, and the car left the yard.
Sebastian saw Isaac daydreaming while watching outside the window. The reflection showed his concentrated look, and he seemed to have deep thoughts.
He didn't want to disturb him. Instead, continued controlling the car in comfortable silence.
Then, when the car reached the Layer of Tourism and the airport got closer, Isaac opened his mouth, ''Do you have family, Sebastian?''
It was an unexpected question. Even Sebastian was somewhat shaken after, ''Ah, no. I don't.''
''Why?''
''Well…'' Sebastian became silent. He began to think and soon realized that he couldn't think of a proper excuse.
Isaac glanced at him and said, ''Parents… Siblings?''
Sebastian shook his head, ''My mother gave me away to an orphanage. I never knew how she looked or how her voice sounded like. Only the orphanage workers remembered her slightly.''
''Ah… I see.'' Isaac nodded and became silent again. The rest of the car ride went in comfortable silence, and soon, the car reached the airport.
Once the car stopped, Isaac shook hands with Sebastian and said their goodbyes.
Then, he exited the car, took his bag from the trunk, and watched as the black sedan slowly drove away.
He entered the terminal and found a place to sit at. Once seated, he looked toward the large screens and saw that his flight hadn't arrived yet.
While waiting, Isaac looked around with a bag on his lap. A lot of tourists were arriving and leaving Brightstar. He was often used to seeing pale-skinned citizens, but now, there were few tanned skins.
He could hear the sound of their discussions, and apparently, they were from Summerland. The weather was too much for many, forcing them to go to nearby Continents on early holidays.
They decided on Winterland and heard great things about Brightstar.
Then, Isaac's attention was caught by the flash of light. The large screens nailed on the walls showed breaking news.
The news anchor's voice echoed in the terminal, attracting many eye pairs.
''Today, new class, Archaeologist, showed why it is important to have one in every Guild!'' The news anchor was a rather handsome man with charcoal-colored hair and well-defined facial structures.
He locked his hands as he kept reading the text from the teleprompter, ''Players with Archaeologist Class with the help of several Top Players managed to find a pathway to the second realm!''
''The place everyone had grown fond of was only the first realm, called Summer Realm!''
''The pathway they found was for the second realm called Spring Realm. Who knows how many Realms there are, but this will change everything!''
The screen began changing, and pictures appeared. The photo showed carved words that said Spring Realm.
''Apparently, every Continent has its own pathway near its Starting City, and Winterland's Starting City is Stronglord that is in South Continent!''
''The first pathway was found on West Continent, and Top Players there started planning to do an expedition. There have also been rumors of Lord Kalzer joining them!''
Isaac turned his gaze away from the screen. He touched his chin and pondered, 'When I was falling down… I saw four realms… I see. This is what Simo was hiding from me.'
He sighed and massaged his temples, 'We are only at starting line…'
''Woah, that was unexpected!'' A voice came behind him. Two men with tanned skin continued talking, ''Lord Kalzer will definitely reach the Second Realm!''
''Yeah, he is just too f*cking good. No one can defeat him.''
Behind them, a white-haired youth slowly stood up and began walking away. Isaac took his ticket from the bag and moved it around his hand. His plane arrived a minute ago, and it was time for him to leave.
The windows displayed the beautiful City of Brightstar, and Isaac felt similar when he left Snowstar. The feeling of longing and losing something.
Soon, he gave the ticket to the flight attendant and entered the plane. He had a seat in the first class. His grandparents didn't stop spoiling him.
He crammed the bag in the overhead bin and sat down on the soft cushioned seat.
He closed his eyes and leaned on the backrest. The memories flashed inside his mind and ended with him kissing Luna.
Isaac slowly opened his eyes, and his gray eyes glowed mysteriously.
