Chapter 445 The Grand Auction (6)
"4.1 million!" Blair shouted with a slightly more serious face.
"B-But, madam, t-the limit." Her servant tried to talk her out of it.
"Quiet." Blair said sharply and smirked slightly, "I want to test this person… Does he have the guts to go against me?"
"I-Isaac." Luna looked at Isaac with shock. Her eyes show various emotions.
"Hmm…" Isaac tapped his finger against his thigh.
The silver-haired man folded his hands and was pleasurable surprised. He didn't expect someone to go against Sunflower Family.
He remembered every VIP guest and their rooms. Thus, he could determine the two who were bidding against each other.
'Blair Sunflower, and infamous player Wraith… How unexpected, but welcomed.'
Isaac then briskly pressed the button and calmly said, "4.2 million."
The audience felt their hearts stopping for a moment. There were looks of excitement directed toward the stage. Rarely they could witness a bidding war of this caliber!
"4.3 million," Blair said as calmly as she could. The servants behind her were turning paler after each bid.
'If he bids one more time… I have to forfeit… I need at least 10 million to win the last item, and I need it desperately.' She made up her mind.
Then, Isaac pressed the button and shouted, "4.5 million!"
Blair closed her eyes and sighed with a tiny smile, "Yeah… I forfeit."
Her servants sighed with relief.
The audience looked back and forth between the rooms. After a short while, they realized that the bidding war might have ended!
The silver-haired man smiled toward Sunflower Suite and nodded, 'I guess it's over…'
In his own suite, Silver shook his head, "The next ingredient will be as expensive… I can barely afford it."
The silver-haired man spread his arms wide and shouted, "Going once, going twice… Sold!"
Luna held her chest while feeling her pounding heart. A soft smile appeared on her face, "Y-You did it!"
Isaac heaved a sigh of relief, and a small smile crept up on his face, "Yeah… Now the second one."
Luna grabbed his hand tightly and, with nervousness, looked toward the stage. Her eyes were slightly getting moistened.
As the audience tried to calm down their excitement, the 81st item was rolled to the center stage.
"Time for the 81st item." The silver-haired man lifted off the veil, and another bottle was displayed on the cart. It made NPCs frown because it looked quite similar to the previous object.
Except, this one was purplish leaves that let out strange sparks of energy toward the audience.
"This one is Leaves of Dreams, a secret ingredient from the Dream World!" The name made NPCs widen their eyes in shock while the players were already prepared for it.
"The starting bid is 1 million!" The starting bid didn't shock anyone. They were already expecting it.
However, the following bid made everyone's skin cold.
"4 million!" A shout came from the VIP Suite that had been quiet so far. In there was a muscular man with a bushy beard, axe strapped on his back, and wearing a hunter's outfit.
A player's tag floated above him that was shining with gold!
[King Arawn]
"Last ingredient before I have gathered all…" He murmured.
King Arawn was an infamous player in West Continent. In there, he fought and challenged Lord, Lady, Queen, and King Title owners. He managed to win some but also lost many.
The most famous battle was his fight against Lord Kalzer, in which he lost in spectacular fashion. He thought that only by a miracle he could become stronger than Kalzer.
That miracle had been presented in the form of Dream Portion. He believed the rumors blindly and knew by drinking it and visiting the Dream World, he would become strongest!
Thus, he had been collecting the ingredients and only needed Leaves of Dreams before he had them all!
The audience turned shocked after the chilling first bid.
The silver-haired man and every other VIP guest were surprised at the sudden increase in the bid. That completely caught off-guard everyone.
Silver felt a cold sweat pouring down his back as he shouted, "4.2 million!"
"4.5 million!" King Arawn immediately countered.
Silver felt his breath getting stuck in his throat. Then, he shouted through gritted teeth, "4.6 million!"
"5 million!" King Arawn's masculine voice shattered all of Silver's hopes.
Silver plopped down on the backrest and covered his face with disappointment. His son, Lynch, was utterly shocked that his father lost so severely!
After a short while, there weren't any more bids, causing everyone to think it was over.
The silver-haired man was satisfied at the bid and calmly said, "Going once, going twice…"
Luna stood to stand and thought all her hopes were shattering as the silver-haired man's lips slowly moved up and down.
Then, Isaac pressed the button with a powerful look, "5.5 million!"
Luna whipped her head around and, with cloudy vision, managed to see Isaac's calm smile. The tiny teardrops trickled down her soft cheeks.
The audience turned around in shock and remembered the room where the shout came. It came from the same person who won the last bid!
'How rich is that person?!' The Players and NPCs thought. In total, Isaac had bid 10 million!
King Arawn's eyebrow jumped, "Interesting… 6 million!"
"6.1 million!" Isaac's hand clenched into a fist, and his heart began pounding like it was hitting against a drum.
Back and forth, the bidding war continued. Each bid caused a veil of coldness to shroud the auction hall. The amount they bid was crazy!
Luna sat down with a tear-stained face. She didn't understand why she cried. Perhaps out of happiness or because of frustration. The Winter Illness that had been haunting her for years was finally being fought against.
If Isaac lost the bid, Winter Illness would win. However, if he won, the Winter Illness would have no other choice than beg for mercy!
Luna grabbed her chest and closed her teary eyes, 'Isaac will win…'
"7 million!" King Arawn's shouted with a rough breathing and red eyes.
Isaac's mouth closed, and his eyes tightly closed. The auction hall turned silent, and no one dared to even utter a breath.
King Arawn firmly pressed his hand against the armrest.
Luna opened her eyes and turned to look at her boyfriend, who was deep in thought. She smiled and loosened her muscles.
'I trust him… he is never going to lose…'
'7.4 million would be my limit… However, I have saved money in the bank, making my limit 8.4 million… Thus, time to end this with a bang.'
With his handsome smile, Isaac opened his mouth and shouted, "8 million!"
