"Hum?" Seeing the tears flowing down from Alvin's eyes, Linfel couldn't help but get worried. "What happened? Don't worry, I'm here. I'll help you!"
"HELP YOUR ASS!" Alvin exploded. "Look at what you have done! My fish... I struggled so much to finally catch it. I was going to get everything. I was going to convince Dad, I was about to go with Milia, I was about to overcome my own fears!
But then, but then..."
It was at this moment that Alvin realized. "Wait, that's not right... Why am I fishing?" Alvin looked around and noticed his father was gone as well. The memories came back like a wave. "Weren't we supposed to be in the spaceship to take the fifth test?"
*Crack, crack, crack...*
Suddenly, the environment began to break down, much to Alvin's surprise.
Linfel couldn't help but smile, though. "Now, that's impressive. I came in because I was afraid you wouldn't be able to overcome your hurdles on your own. Yet, seems like my concerns were unfounded. It seems like you do have some willpower, after all. That's great!
I was concerned that I would need to help you to cheat, but there is no need."
"What is happening?!" Alvin was still confused.
"This is just a dream, Alvin," Linfel explained. "You are now waking up. When you do, make sure to act surprised. It seems like the faster you wake up, the bigger your willpower. That is the fifth test of the Ventis Sect, and you will pass it with flying colors."
Alvin was still shocked, but he quickly connected the dots. "So... that's how this is. Is this what they call a lucid dream? After all, I'm talking to you about the events outside."
"Oh, no, no, no..." Linfel shook his head. "I'm real. I just used the same power as those elders to invade your dream. Milia, Lucau, and Felia are truly a Dream, though. Anyway, I'm going ahead. See you outside."
Alvin didn't know what to do anymore. "Is there anything that Wisp can't do? Wait! He won't appear in my wet dreams, will he?" Then, the world collapsed, and everything went dark.
In the next second, Alvin opened his eyes in the Spaceship. He got up slowly, noticing he wasn't the only one awake. Most of the Maguses and Familiars were still sleeping, but there were seven of them standing like Alvin. "Ouch... my head. I feel like I was hit by a truck..."
Mosie looked at Alvin in the distance, nodding. "You passed the fifth test."
"I... did?" Alvin looked at Linfel, who was sitting on his shoulder. 'I remember everything.'
Linfel already expected that. 'The other guys who woke up before you seem to remember as well. You don't need to tell anyone about it, though. It seems like not even the elders on the stage know what kind of dreams everyone had.' Linfel then explained how the exam worked after Mosie's group put everyone to sleep.
"I see..." Alvin didn't forget Linfel's words in his dream, so he acted surprised. "To think such test existed. So everyone took over an hour to wake up, is it?"
"Almost. It seems like I only slept for a second, so Mosie there was quite shocked." Linfel spoke as if it wasn't anything worth mentioning.
Alvin's mouth twitched again. However, he quickly ignored the Wisp. Why should he feel impressed with everything Linfel does? It will never end if he continue to do so. 'Ignore him, ignore him. Let's just pretend he doesn't exist.'
"By the way, Alvin," Linfel called his attention.
"What is it?" Alvin asked back.
"What is a wet dream?" Linfel was genuinely curious. Sёarch* The novel(F~)ire.net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
*Cough, cough, cough...*
Alvin almost lost his balance. It seems like Linfel was still around before his dream was truly over. "Ahem... let's just say it is a good way to have a dream."
Linfel was confused, but he didn't insist. "I understand... I think..."
"Ah!" Only then did Alvin remember about Milia. He looked to the side and noticed the girl sleeping with Nori close by. "She is still going through the test, is it?"
"Yes," Linfel confirmed. "They should be fine, though. How many people do you know to be as strong-willed as she? I wouldn't be surprised if she wakes up soon."
"Well, that's true," Alvin agreed with Linfel. Nonetheless, he couldn't help but worry. 'Psiu, Linfel,' Alvin spoke with his Magic Energy. 'Can't you take a look, just to be sure? You can enter her dream too, right?'
Linfel pondered a bit. 'Well, I can give it a try. Just a moment.'
Alvin sat by Milia's side, pretending to just be worried about her. It was no secret they were friends, so no one found it weird.
Linfel, too, touched the girl and began to copy her soul waves before connecting to her. 'Let's see... I need to make my Magic Energy go through my soul and have it energize the Magic Energy itself. That way, I can create this Soul Magic Energy. They called it Soul Power, I believe? Anyway...'
Linfel's Soul Power was different, though. Since he could copy any target's Soul Waves, he could use it to send his Soul Power into their minds and see what was there. It wasn't easy, though. While Linfel took only a try to use the Master Familiar Connection for the first time, he took hundreds of tries to understand Soul Power. Naturally, it also made it difficult to use it to enter someone's mind.
Above all, the target could defend against it by simply circulating their magic Energy around their Soul. The process was so delicate that even Linfel wouldn't be able to do it in that case. He only succeeded because they were all deep asleep, so no one was trying to defend.
Finally, Linfel's projection appeared in Milia's Dream. "Hum? I can't see shit!"
Everything was dark. Linfel even wondered if he had failed in his attempt to invade her Dream. However, it was then that he noticed a small light not too far. Linfel approached it, and noticed a little girl on the ground. She head her head between her knees, staying there and doing nothing. If she didn't look to be breathing, Linfel would have thought she was dead, considering how immovable she was.
"Hum... this doesn't seem right."
Linfel quickly approached the little girl. "Hey, Milia, it's you, isn't it?"
The little girl finally showed a little movement. However, the moment she lifted her head, the face of a monster appeared, who immediately attacked Linfel, trying to swallow him whole! "Holy shit!"
Linfel shot back like a bullet, but the monster followed. Soon, he found more of those small sources of light, and more little girls were there. Yet, they seemed to notice the one pursuing Linfel. Each and every single one of them was a monster, just like the first one. They got up and joined in Linfel's pursuit.
"What kind of dream is this girl having?!" Linfel couldn't help but complain. For a moment, Linfel thought about using his new knowledge about Soul Power to wake up Milia. All he had to do was to get rid of the Soul Power that had entered her head at the start of the fifth test. He could feel it and knew what he had to do.
Yet, he felt like it wasn't the right call. "No, this is a test about willpower. Everyone seems to be trying to overcome some kind of mental hurdle, just like Alvin did. Forcing Milia to wake up will indeed make her pass the test, but this kind of dream... What kind of mental demon does this girl have?"
Linfel pondered a bit and thought about a plan. "This isn't working, and I don't care that much about Milia to be of much use. Yeap, it's decided. Let's try to bring Alvin's consciousness inside her Dream as well. Perhaps he can help her have a wet dream."
